More than SIXTY Team USA Olympians
choose not to attend White House reception
hosted by President Trump in their honor

Daily Mail [UK], by Jessica Finn

US Winter Olympians who competed in PyeongChang are heading to the White House this week, but some of the most notable names are skipping the prestigious event. The 2018 Winter Olympics were, at times, used by athletes to vocalize their dissatisfaction with the Trump administration. Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, figure skater Adam Rippon and freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy have all spoke out against the administration. They are among a large swath of about 60 Olympians who will not attend the White House reception this year. Chloe Kim, Mirai Nagasu, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Shaun White are also not visiting the White House

Their call. We knew Vonn, Rippon and Kenworthy (the latter two are flaming gay men) were spouting anti-Trump, as did Vonn, Tiger’s aging mistress/nanny. Definitely not sportsmen in the true sense of the word.

Cancel the public reception and have a private reception for those that are not cretins.

First Olympics in my lifetime that I´ve actively rooted against some "Americans." It won´t be the last.

It used to be fun watching skaters swish around the ice. Now that it´s the other way around, forget it.

If and when they mature, they might regret that they missed their one chance to be invited to the White House. It is an honor very few get in their lifetimes. I´m sure their grandchildren will be sooooo impressed when Granddaddy or Grandmummy brags about how they boycotted the White House reception with the evil President Trump and that´s why there´s no picture with the President.

I didn’t watch the Olympics but some of the names listed were in the news and I seem to recall that they all performed poorly after bashing Trump.

Their trainers should have taught them long ago that a negative attitude affects one’s performance. Same goes for the NFL kneelers.

Adios, losers!

I place the blame on B Clinton and B. Obama. They cheapened the presidency to the point that , not, it really isn´t as big a deal to the millenniums. Sadly regret is only awarded after the fact and they will not realize that it is no about the person, but the office. I have a few more mistakes to make yet in this life. They have many more than I.

I used to think Avery Brundage was a harsh, somewhat petty man when I read about his decisions during his tenure as IOC head. In retrospect, I realize that his iron fist and insistence upon amateurism, maintaining a good public image and patriotism were necessary to keep the athletes/herd of cats in line. I am guessing athletes who behaved like these babies would have been kicked off of the team.

Good lesson for us all, verify future Olympian contenders to ensure they represent all of America. Make them sign contracts for engagements and tours to mentor our youth. If they can´t do these little things, remove their funding and access to the Olympic center in Colorado Springs.

About 25% of U.S. Olympians are refusing to attend the White House reception. It is wondered if they ever thought about how their refusals might be met in North Korea, etc.?

The ones who are protesting this incredible honor are not the best of our best - they are the spoiled, pampered, egotistical participants who think that their political opinions matter to anyone but themselves. ]

These immature young athletes comprise 25% of our Olympics team but they are 100% of our embarrassment and disgust.

Doesn´t surprise me one bit. Preparing an Olympian requires a lot of money. That means that someone who wants to compete, must either be a child of independent means or you must get the attention of someone rich to sponsor you.

Most of the money in this country is held by Liberals or people who (like Trump) had reason to fake being liberal. No one gets past government unless they toe the line in their public Liberality and getting past government, in the U.S.A. these days is absolutely required to acquire or retain wealth.

That being the case, who in their right minds will not hide as a lefty if everything they worked for depended on them being perceived as a Lefty?

Its one of the reasons I have no interest in Olympics, any more. The fact that they can use the force of government to bypass the First Amendment is maddening.

I love the Olympics, and that is why I many times cheer for athletes from other countries rather than my own country of the USA, to win the competition. It is MY choice to cheer against USA´s smug athletes. I have no nationality loyalty when it comes to sports. I cheer for the person, not the nation. Too many athletes in America now believe they should be political and defy anyone to disagree with them. I say NUTS!

Trump never had a reputation for gay-bashing. In fact, he had many gay people working for him in his hotels and other ventures, and even had personal and business relationships in the music industry with many gays.

The only type of "gay" he might have caused some consternation about were the pedophiles who were in orbit around Epstein. The Donald was a witness to Epstein´s bringing underage girls around with him.

If the gay blades upset with the President are pedophiles, I´m not sure anybody cares how upset they are. One would hope they stay away from the Olympics in the future.

More than two-thirds of Americans credit President Donald Trump for the country’s healthy economy, a new poll has revealed. The CBS News poll which was released on Sunday shows a sharp partisan divide, with Republicans more likely to give the president positive reviews while Democrats and Independents are not as complimentary. According to the survey, 35 per cent of Americans say Trump’s policies are ‘a great deal’ responsible for the economy. Around the same number - 33 per cent - say the president’s policies are ‘somewhat’ responsible. Nearly one-third say that Trump is either ‘not very’ or ‘not at all’ responsible for the strong

President Donald Trump demanded to know Sunday when special counsel Robert Mueller was going to ´STOP!´ probing into alleged Russian influence on the presidential election and turn his investigative power onto Hillary Clinton. In a long, bitter Twitter rant the president railed against the cost of the investigation, calling it a ´$20,000,000 Witch Hunt´ that has found ´no Collussion with Russia, No Obstruction, but they aren´t looking at the corruption in the Hillary Clinton Campaign.´ Trump´s words of rage echoed the remarks of his private attorney Rudy Giuliani, who also said the investigation was a waste of $20 million during an interview

There was a depressing familiarity both to Hamas’s suicide protest operation along Gaza’s border with Israel this week and to Israel’s response to it. Hamas’s jihadist regime in Gaza doesn’t have a lot of cards to play in its continuous war against the Jewish state. But, as we have been seeing since Hamas launched its campaign against the border six weeks ago, it does have one card, and no matter how often it plays that card, Israel can’t seem to figure out how to beat it. Hamas’s card is Western hostility to Israel. The Western media, along with the EU and most

Donald Trump has stayed uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter without posting a single tweet about the royal wedding. The President, who is usually especially active on the social media network early in the day, did not tweet anything all morning about the nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which ended at 9.00am ET. Rumors swirled about whether Trump would be invited to the wedding at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, but he was eventually left off the guest list, along with other political leaders. Prominent figures who made the cut included Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney and the Beckhams. Other A-listers including Idris

Former FBI Director James Comey defended the FBI’s use of confidential sources Wednesday following a series of tweets from President Trump about “spygate.” He also warned that attacks on and lies about the bureau and its work will cause “lasting damage” to the country. “Facts matter. The FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources (the actual term) is tightly regulated and essential to protecting the country. Attacks on the FBI and lying about its work will do lasting damage to our country. How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?” Comey tweeted. Some NFL players are reportedly considering new ways to protest after NFL owners voted on a new national anthem policy Wednesday, reports Sports Illustrated´s Robert Klemko. According to Klemko, some are discussing ways to skirt new rules "just to spite the NFL." The policy removes a requirement for players to be on the field for the anthem, and gives players the option to stay in the locker room. Teams will be fined for any personnel that "do not show proper respect for the flag and Anthem” on the sidelines. Other journalists were hearing similar things from players they talked to.

MSNBC´s Rachel Maddow read a short excerpt from the book, available now, ahead of an interview with Clapper Tuesday night. "As a private citizen, I had no doubt they influence at least some voters. NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard

President Trump cannot block people from his @realDonaldTrump account just because he doesn’t like their political views, a Manhattan federal judge ruled on Wednesday. Doing so violates their First Amendment right to free speech because Twitter is a “public forum,” Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald wrote in a landmark ruling that could change how public officials use Twitter. “We reject the defendants’ contentions that the First Amendment does not apply in this case and that the President’s personal First Amendment interests supersede those of plaintiffs,” the judge wrote in her 75-page ?decision. The NFL Players’ Association (NFLPA) on Wednesday criticized the league for its new national anthem policy. In a statement, the union said it would review the new policy and “challenge any aspect of it that is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement.” The union accused the league of contradicting its previous statements, and of ignoring players’ wishes in developing the new policy, which instructs that all team and league personnel should stand for the national anthem. “The NFL chose to not consult the union in the development of this new ‘policy,’” the union said in a statement. “NFL players have

The Democratic Party has no leader right now. No one. Former President Barack Obama is palling around with his billionaire, island-owning buddies. Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders is kicking back in one of his three houses (we’re guessing the big one on Lake Champlain). And the 20-some 2020 presidential wannabes are all jockeying for media attention (and cash, lots of cash). In such a void, that leaves just one person with the spotlight: the bitter, ever-angry, petty, vindictive Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton told the Democratic Women’s Leadership Forum on Friday that she would be a foundational part of the anti-Trump

Democrat Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had harsh words for President Trump late Tuesday, warning that if Democrats retake the House of Representatives in November, they´ll begin the 2019 legislative session with articles of impeachment, even if Trump hasn´t done anything to require it. Speaking to C-Span, Rep. Green suggested that he has the "right and privilege" to impeach the president, even absent evidence that the president has committed "high crimes" or "misdemeanors" by virtue of the U.S. Constitution. "There’s a good likelihood there will be articles of impeachment” brought against the President, Rep. Green said.
