against restarting nuke program

Washington - The Latest on the White House visit of French President Emmanuel Macron (all times local): 10:40 a.m. - President Donald Trump is warning that if Iran restarts its nuclear program it “will have bigger problems than they have ever had before.” Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron will be discussing the Iran nuclear deal Tuesday during their meetings at the White House. Macron wants Trump to maintain the deal. Trump is undecided but has called it “a terrible deal.” Though Trump has warmly welcomed Macron to Washington, the two have disagreements to sort through, including Trump’s decision to leave

Comments:
I can only hope that President Trump tears up this 0bama fiasco to our foreign policy and national interests. Of course, Iran is threatening US if we do. It´ll be interesting to see if Russia tries to put economic pressure, along with the EU nations now trading with them.

Mr. Macron, what is Iran doing to discontinue their nuclear program? Can you show me any evidence? No. So Obama gave Iran $150B and we got nothing. Sorry, but this deal is just not working out.

This reminds me of PDT’s campaign promise to bomb the shiite out of ISIS. And where is ISIS today?

Washington - The Latest on the House vote on a bill that would expand private care for veterans (all times local): 6: 45 p.m. - The House has voted to give veterans more freedom to see doctors outside the Veterans Affairs health system. (Snip) The plan seeks to fulfill President Donald Trump´s promise to expand private care to veterans whenever they feel unhappy with VA health care. The long-awaited measure would change how veterans receive their medical care by allowing them to go to a private physician when they felt government-run VA medical centers couldn't provide the care they needed, with the approval of a VA

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last January, President Trump insisted that his trademark "America First" policy “does not mean America alone.” But when Mr. Trump pulled the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal last week, reneging on an agreement negotiated and supported by close US allies, he displayed a bluntly unilateralist outlook that suggests he cares little whether or not the US is isolated. Whatever impact Trump´s decision has on Iran and its nuclear program, it has sent a message to governments around the globe about Washington´s willingness to live up to its word,

The United States and Gulf partners imposed additional sanctions on Lebanon’s Hezbollah leadership on Wednesday, targeting its top two officials, Hassan Nasrallah and Naim Qassem. The US Treasury Department said four other individuals were also sanctioned, as was the group ISIS in the Greater Sahara, which was designated as a foreign terrorist organization. It was the third round of sanctions announced by Washington since the United States pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal last week. Wednesday’s sanctions targeted members of the primary decision-making body of Hezbollah, Treasury said in a statement.

North Korea has pledged to dismantle its only known nuclear testing site, and new satellite imagery has emerged showing compelling evidence that the country has already begun deconstructing the facility. (Snip) Many observers and officials have been deeply skeptical about North Korea´s commitment to denuclearize; the country has long argued that such weapons of mass destruction were vital to its own survival. Judge Amy Berman Jackson roundly rejected Manafort’s motion to dismiss the special counsel’s indictment, citing several examples of legal rectitude for Mueller’s aggressive investigation of Russian meddling during the 2016 presidential campaign. “The indictment falls squarely within that portion of the authority granted to the

In June 2012, a tall, mysterious figure turned up at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. He rang the bell, walked in and asked for political asylum. It was Julian Assange. Days earlier, he had lost his long legal fight against extradition to Sweden, where two women accused him of rape. Soon afterwards, the left-leaning then president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, agreed to Assange’s request, precipitating a major diplomatic row with the British government. And a full-blown siege. Metropolitan police officers swarmed outside the building, ready to arrest Assange should he venture out. It was against this febrile backdrop that Correa authorised a

The White House on Monday called the deaths of more than 50 Palestinians on the Gaza border “propaganda” by Hamas and denied that Israel was to blame. Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said during a White House press briefing that the violence against Palestinian protesters was a “gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt” by Hamas. “The responsibility for these tragic deaths rests squarely with Hamas,” Shah said. “Look, this is a propaganda attempt. I mean, this is a gruesome and unfortunate propaganda attempt.” Shah also said about the deaths that “Israel has the right to defend itself.”

Special counsel Robert Mueller has withstood relentless political attacks, many distorting his record of distinguished government service. But there’s one episode even Mueller’s former law enforcement comrades — and independent ethicists — acknowledge raises legitimate legal issues and a possible conflict of interest in his overseeing the Russia election probe. In 2009, when Mueller ran the FBI, the bureau asked Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to spend millions of his own dollars funding an FBI-supervised operation to rescue a retired FBI agent, Robert Levinson, captured in Iran while working for the CIA in 2007.

Conrad Black’s erudite biography of Donald J. Trump is different from the usual in mediis rebus accounts of first-year presidents. He avoids the Bob Woodward fly-on-the-wall unattributed anecdote, and “they say” gossip mongering. Nor is the book a rush-to-publish product from former insiders of the Trump campaign or administration. Instead, Black, a prolific and insightful historian, adopts the annalistic method in carefully tracing Trump’s earliest years in business through his various commercial misadventures, financial recoveries, and sometimes wild antics. Black’s aim is to illustrate how much of what Trump has done since announcing his presidential candidacy in summer 2015 is

Under John Brennan, the CIA operated as an opposition research outfit for the Hillary Clinton campaign. It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. But they didn’t have any, save some pretty skimpy material on “contacts” between Trump campaign officials and Russians. Whatever Brennan collected was so insubstantial that Robert Mueller

The carrier is joining rival airlines in tightening rules for passengers flying with emotional support animals, expanding the list of animals that can´t fly in addition to requiring customers vouch for their animal´s ability to behave. MELBOURNE, Australia -- When you hear "world tour" you usually think of superstars performing concerts in various cities for adoring fans. Not so with the presidentially deprived, entitlement-driven Hillary Clinton. Last week, Hillary Clinton came to Melbourne, Australia´s second largest city, and to Sydney, its largest, with a huge chip on her shoulder. The chip has been there since the 2016 election and seems to be growing larger with every appearance. As with almost everything else the Clintons do, it cost to hear her bitterness. Those who went to hear Clinton speak, more than 5,000 people, paid between $200 and $500 Australian
