Clinton: Free press is under
‘open assault’ in Trump era

Associated Press, by Staff

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton excoriated President Donald Trump for his treatment of the media, saying in remarks on Sunday that press rights and free speech are “under open assault” in the current administration, which she compared to an authoritarian regime. “We are living through an all-out war on truth, facts and reason,” Clinton said at the PEN America World Voices Festival, in Manhattan. “When leaders deny things we can see with our own eyes, like the size of a crowd at the inauguration, when they refuse to accept settled science when it comes to urgent challenges like climate change

Comments:
I cannot even believe this. I feel like I´m now living in a Communist country with all the pure fiction and propaganda disguised as ´news´ swirling all around us. It´s just stunning that APee saw fit to print her pathetic rantings. It´s particularly irksome considering that APee is one of those actually assaulting free press. It really is stunning considering the lies and fraud that are perpetrated every single day against Donald Trump. The multiple examples of psychological projection from these maniacs just takes your breath away.

It´s very simple, criticism of the press is not an attack on the ´freedom of the press´, it´s an attack on the fabrications and lies of the press.

We are a free people only when we are a moral people. We are not free to tell lies to advance an agenda.

But it seems we got this close to electing a bald face liar for president, and she ain´t liking it!

Here, let me fix this headline: "The *freeloading* press is under assault in Trump era." Yes indeedee, their days of being treated like poodles on a pillow are over; their taunts and curses at the President only come back to bite them; time to return the tuition to whatever university granted you a "journalism" degree. What you learned and practice dutifully, dear press, is propaganda.

Oh bull. Hillary´s ´w(h)ine tour´ continues. She doesn´t realize it yet, but she is so over.

Most people follow the news to keep up with current events. Beyond that, it is worthless. American press is looking more and more like cold war Russian press. Nobody wants to read lies.

Everything happening under Trump is self-inflicted. The media lies, people have caught on, and turned them off. Hillary and the rest of our ´leaders´ behave like corrupt tyrants and politicians. The American public looks on in horror in shock at what these people are doing to our country, and wonders what needs to be done to clean up the mess.

Don´t blame Trump for any of this.

The "free press", as she calls the lapdog community of the Democrat party (remember when John Kerry complained about a tough article, and his comments something like "why are they doing the job of the RNC"?), is simply getting a taste of Free Speech.

And, since Hillary doesn´t like who it´s coming from, she thinks it´s assault.

Trump simply says the media are liars. Note that the media doesn´t, because they cannot, rebut his claim. They simply whine about being accurately labeled as what they are.

Even more amazing, after being so exposed for a couple years, seeing their credibility fall, their readers and viewers drop, and experiencing layoffs they continue to serve up transparently fake stories and whine when Trump exposes them yet again.

The only ones assaulting the media is themselves. The damage is self inflicted. They need an intervention.

What Hillary needs is unmentionable.

Instead, she is attacking Trump on an almost daily basis. Why is Sessions still AG? And please, don’t mention the ridiculous Utah federal attorney or the one in Chicago or the FBI investigators in Arkansas. In mid-July 2016, a retired American professor approached an adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign at a symposium about the White House race held at a British university. The professor took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Carter Page, whom Trump had named a few months earlier as a foreign policy adviser. But the professor was more than an academic interested in American politics — he was a longtime U.S. intelligence source. And, at some point in 2016, he began working as a secret informant for the FBI as it investigated Russia’s interference in the campaign, according to people familiar

U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials have leaked extremely sensitive information about a top secret source three times in the last week while claiming that confidentially sharing information about the source with congressional investigators could greatly impact U.S. national security and potentially risk the source’s life. The officials have leaked specific information that could directly identify the source on three separate occasions to reporters at the Washington Post and New York Times. This raises even more questions about whether current top intelligence and law enforcement officials can be trusted to obey the law and to

The man who is sixth in line to be king of Great Britain is getting married today and America has lost its mind. What does it mean to be sixth in the line of royal succession to an office that depends solely and exclusively on who your father is? It means that five family members have to die before you get the real goodies. Granted, those goodies are amazing. Who wouldn´t want to live in a thousand year old castle (too bad it´s in Scotland) or have dozens of "servants" cater to your every whim and need? But that lifestyle depends on people believing that you are deserving of such wealth and privilege because you happened to be

Boston — Black students at Harvard University are organizing a graduation ceremony of their own this year to recognize the achievements of black students and faculty members some say have been overlooked. More than 700 students and guests are registered to attend Harvard´s first Black Commencement, which will take place two days before the school´s traditional graduation events. (Snip) Every student will receive a stole made of traditional African kente cloth, meant to symbolize their shared heritage and to be worn with their cap and gown at the university´s graduation. Students have raised $35,000 for the event, mostly from schools within the university.

John McCain always said he’d go down fighting, and so he has, dickering from his deathbed over CIA nominee Gina Haspel and pre-emptively disinviting President Donald Trump from his funeral, then leaving as a legacy some fierce final words for the leader of his party, who is now a political enemy. All Trump displays is “a reality-show facsimile of toughness,” the six-term Arizona senator and former GOP presidential candidate, who for a generation of Washington politicians has defined genuine toughness, writes in his forthcoming memoir. The irony of McCain’s curtain-closing contretemps with the president is that it is clearly

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that Democratic candidates around the country still face basic questions about what they stand for and which policies their party supports. Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.

WASHINGTON — President Trump accused the F.B.I. on Friday, without evidence, of sending a spy to secretly infiltrate his 2016 campaign “for political purposes” even before the bureau had any inkling of the “phony Russia hoax.” In fact, F.B.I. agents sent an informant to talk to two campaign advisers only after they received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign. The informant, an American academic who teaches in Britain, made contact late that summer with one campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, according to people familiar with the matter. He also met repeatedly in the

Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) warned Republican lawmakers on Friday not to expose the identity of top-secret FBI informant, saying that to do so would be "irresponsible" — and potentially illegal. "It would be at best irresponsible, and at worst potentially illegal, for members of Congress to use their positions to learn the identity of an FBI source for the purpose of undermining the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in our election," Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a statement. "Anyone who is entrusted with our nation’s highest secrets should act with the gravity and

Former President Jimmy Carter jabbed President Trump during his commencement speech at Liberty University in Virginia on Saturday, joking about the crowd size at the event. Carter pointed out that the crowd size at the commencement was bigger this year than when Trump spoke to Liberty graduates in 2017, the Associated Press reported. “I don’t know if President Trump would admit that," Carter said, referring to the Trump’s claim, which was widely determined to be false, that his inauguration crowd exceeded 1 million people. Carter wasn´t the only one to bring up the Trump inauguration crowd size Saturday. The Twitter

Windsor, England - Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at the royal wedding — stepping in after the father of the bride fell ill just days before the ceremony. Kensington Palace said Friday that Markle´s future father-in-law, the heir to the British throne, would walk the American actress down the aisle at St. George´s Chapel in Windsor for her wedding to Prince Harry. The palace says he "is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the Royal Family in this way." (Tweet) The decision comes after feverish speculation about who would have the honor after the bride announced that her father,
