The leaked Comey memos just
blew up in Trump’s face

Washington Post, by Greg Sargent

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 4/20/2018 11:35:13 AM

The past 12 hours brought two very big revelations involving former FBI director James B. Comey, President Trump and the Russia investigation, and they must be looked at side by side to fully grasp their collective importance. Comey’s memos of his conversations with Trump have leaked in full. This came after Republicans threatened to subpoena them from Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, leading him to release them to Congress. Comey confirmed to Rachel Maddow that before getting fired, he ordered an internal investigation into whether Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani had been privately tipped off by people in the FBI two weeks

Comments:
From the WaPo’s Opinion section. We already knew that Greg Sargent is a wild-eyed #NeverTrumper who will say anything - never mind whether it is true or not - in his relentless campaign to damage our President. This is as wild-eyed and speculative as it gets...

To take this position, you would have to believe that what Comey put in his memos was the truth. Comey has proven himself to be a liar and as long as he has been a bureaucrat, he learned long ago how to write memos to cover himself in the future.

What kind of life does Greg Sargent live? Is he totally sustained by hatred and a never ending "get Trump" odyssey?

What a pathetic creature Sargent is, though he doesn´t even stand out at the WaPo.

In my 30 plus years of practice as a labor arbitrator, I sometimes was offered, as evidence, the meaning of certain contact language in a dispute. And the form of that evidence was a memo to file, contemporaneously written at the end of negotiations.
In every case except one, I rejected the memos as self serving hearsay. Anyone can say anything under those circumstances.
The one case where I allowed it? The language of the labor agreement dealt with physical working conditions in a factory that manufactured air conditioning components, and summertime heat in the factory was a big issue.
It was so ironic that an air conditioning factory would demand that the workers stay on the job with temperatures 130 degrees f. that I accepted the union´s contemporaneous notes as an exception to hearsay evidence.
Coward Comey, a quisling without a government to subvert, is offering self serving hearsay.
The Bezos bozos are full of, well, bezos, with their analysis.

It appears that the Obamunists realize they are about to get the hammer, so in a blatant attempt to throw off the scent (to their illiterate base) they have established a new wonderwall to allow the bleating sheep to recite "four legs good, two legs bad".

It´s always The WaPo that has this type of Bull Schiff "articles", and continues to push the Democrat talking points.

The "obstruction" line has been leaked for a long time now, so that´s not new, and was supposed to be "the end" for Trump previously.

Dems are pushing this story along, and now DNC suing, to keep their base chomping on the Bull Schiff they´ve been fed for nearly 2 years.

Memos to self or to file are meant to remind the memo writer at some later date. They are not sworn documents and the information in the memo may or may not be accurate. Even the dates of the memos are not provable. In Mr. Comey´s case, it appears the memos are skewed as much as possible to make him look good and Donald Trump to look bad.

If Greg Sargent believes a memo to file can be used as anything other than a self-serving document, he is more clueless than I would have though.

These memos have absolutely zero credibility.

NONE.

When I was negotiating contract changes with the Russians or Ukrainians, we hammered things out, then got two translators to create an English version and a Russian version of what we had agreed to, and those translations sometimes took two or three tries to get everyone in agreement.
Then BOTH SIDES signed the agreed upon notes of what had happened. Then they broke out the vodka, cheese, sausage and celebrated. Sometimes those damned black fish eggs, too. I always hated caviar.

ONLY then would the notes be valid.

Comey´s memos are total BS and need to be treated as just that, NOT considered legitimate by ANYONE. We need to laugh when the Dems point to Comey´s memos. Just laugh at them, never ever take them seriously, or give them the slightest legitimacy.

Turn it around. Ask them what they would say about Trump´s notes about the same meetings? Would the left do anything but laugh? No.

Maybe Trump needs to pull out his "meeting notes", handwritten, dated by him. If he wrote them then or yesterday, makes no difference. Just a prop to scare the heck out of them and put Comey´s BS notes in context as having zero validity, well, other than proof that Comey criminally leaked classified information.

Multiple subjects of a report on the Justice Department’s handling of a 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use have been notified that they can privately review the report by week’s end, signaling t he long-awaited document is nearing release. The report is likely to reignite the volatile debate over the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s handling of the Clinton probe, and it will put Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department’s inspector general, in a familiar place—taking aim at members of the law enforcement community. Special counsel Robert Mueller´s team has informed President Donald Trump´s attorneys that they have concluded that they cannot indict a sitting president, according to the President´s lawyer. "All they get to do is write a report," Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN. "They can´t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us." That conclusion is likely based on longstanding Justice Department guidelines. It is not about any assessment of the evidence Mueller´s team has compiled. He avoids the Bob Woodward fly-on-the-wall unattributed anecdote, and “they say” gossip mongering. Nor is the book a rush-to-publish product from former insiders of the Trump campaign or administration. Instead, Black, a prolific and insightful historian, adopts the annalistic method in carefully tracing Trump’s earliest years in business through his various commercial misadventures, financial recoveries, and sometimes wild antics. Black’s aim is to illustrate how much of what Trump has done since announcing his presidential candidacy in summer 2015 is

As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. First United Airlines barred an emotional support peacock from boarding. Now American Airlines is telling passengers some of their service and emotional support animals - including goats, hedgehogs and tusked creatures - can´t fly. The carrier is joining rival airlines in tightening rules for passengers flying with emotional support animals, expanding the list of animals that can´t fly in addition to requiring customers vouch for their animal´s ability to behave. Los Angeles - The number of cases of sexually transmitted diseases in California reached a record high last year and officials are particularly concerned by a spike in stillbirths due to congenital syphilis, state health authorities said Monday. More than 300,000 cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis were reported in 2017, a 45 percent increase from five years ago, according to data released by the California Department of Public Health. MELBOURNE, Australia -- When you hear "world tour" you usually think of superstars performing concerts in various cities for adoring fans. Not so with the presidentially deprived, entitlement-driven Hillary Clinton. Last week, Hillary Clinton came to Melbourne, Australia´s second largest city, and to Sydney, its largest, with a huge chip on her shoulder. The chip has been there since the 2016 election and seems to be growing larger with every appearance. As with almost everything else the Clintons do, it cost to hear her bitterness. Those who went to hear Clinton speak, more than 5,000 people, paid between $200 and $500 Australian

Top Trump administration officials and Republican lawmakers offered heartfelt tributes to John McCain Tuesday night at the International Republican Institute’s annual freedom dinner, striking a marked contrast to the continued controversy facing the White House over its handling of a crude closed-door joke about the Arizona senator. “Tonight, there is a man standing here right beside me, and you and I can see him in our mind’s eye,” said Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, one of the Freedom Award recipients. “He’s a giant, in my mind, of American public life. He leads steadfastly, nothing can diminish him, he steadfastly represents the best
