The huge implications of

News that CIA Director Mike Pompeo secretly flew to Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong-un shortly after his nomination as Secretary of State was leaked to the Washington Post yesterday. The timing could not be better for helping along Pompeo’s prospects of confirmation. (snip) The master showman Trump is already teasing the world audience by creating a mystery over where the first-ever meeting between the heads of the United States and North Korea will take place, mentioning that there are five finalists (to use beauty pageant terminology – which is perfectly appropriate, considering where the master showman cut his teeth

Interesting nugget picked up from this article: Both Syria and North Korea had purchased Russian air defence systems and they failed during our bombing of Syria. Not looking too good for Russia nor the other two buyer´s security.

Oh, how the leftist would howl if there really did develop a treaty between the N and S Koreas under the Trump Administration. That would be a major win and if it happened just about a month before the mid term elections take place, Democrats would be devastated. The enemedia would go into apoplectic shock!

The Democrats’ long knives are going to be unsheathed on Hillary Clinton’s back even sooner than I anticipated. Driven mad by the crash and burn of her “inevitable” presidency dream, she continues to come up with excuses that avoid the real reason: her personal repulsiveness. Yesterday, in the latest installment of her “it’s not my fault I lost” speaking tour, she revealed embarrassing truth about her party. (snip) she understands how her party has been radicalized during the Obama years. And her remarkable change in body language suggests that she realizes this transformation of her own party is a real electoral

My first take on seeing the live broadcast of Michelle Wolf’s comic speech at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner at the Washington Hilton last Saturday was revulsion and disgust. Like many conservatives, I felt like this was the intolerable last straw of an elitist left wing mainstream media gone bonkers. (snip) I noticed that – other than the unedited live broadcast of the dinner – subsequent news reports used clips of what Wolf said that were all edited, censored, or bleeped, making a serious evaluation impossible. I located a transcript online of her presentation, but it was flawed.

Have you ever wondered how people of the caliber of James Comey ever rose to the lofty heights of the Department of Justice and the FBI? (snip)So how does a self-righteous pr*ck get so far in life? The answer, I am afraid, is based on the iron law of bureaucracy. No matter how noble ostensible goal of any bureaucratic agency – helping the victims of natural disasters, for instance – inevitably the organization ends up serving the interests of the members of the bureaucracy. Self-interest comes first, and those who best protect those who make decisions on career advancement rise to

It´s been drilled into everyone that "past performance is no guarantee of future results." That piece of wisdom is a double-edged sword. Most Trump critics, be they Democrats or NeverTumps, miss the second edge. However bad Trump´s pre-election behavior is perceived to be, it has almost no value in evaluating the obvious success of his presidency. The reform movement fueled by political centrists is getting stronger all over the country, but it needs a heavyweight 2020 Independent presidential candidate to gain national traction and big-time financial backing. Ohio Gov. John Kasich ought to take up that challenge. He can’t get the nomination of his own party. Although he’s a lifelong Republican who won statewide in a key battleground state the GOP needs to win the presidency, he’s become much too moderate, not to mention high-principled and independent, for the party.

A Christian’s primary purpose is not to defend his own religious liberty. It’s not even to fight abortion — as vital as that task is. His basic task on this Earth isn’t protecting Christian education or preserving the freedom of Christian artists. Each of those things is important. Each of those things is necessary. But their defense cannot and must not compromise our true purpose. And what is that purpose? I’m reminded of the Westminster Shorter Catechism: “What is the chief end of man? Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.”
