Four U.S. senators seek details on
unusual cellular surveillance in D.C. area

Reuters, by David Shepardson

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 4/18/2018 8:45:14 AM

Four U.S. senators on Wednesday urged the U.S. Homeland Security Department (DHS) to disclose additional information about unusual cellular surveillance activity that has been detected around the nation´s capital. The senators - Ron Wyden and Ed Markey, both Democrats, and Republicans Rand Paul and Cory Gardner - said the Trump administration should make public additional details about possible surveillance using cellphone-site simulators around Washington. "The American people have a legitimate interest in understanding the extent to which U.S. telephone networks are vulnerable to surveillance and are being actively exploited by hostile actors," the four said in a letter reviewed by Reuters.

Comments:
Wow. Senators are now worried about being caught up in the Homeland Security surveillance that would surely be on-going in DC with all the foreign embassies (diplomatic missions) there. Think 0bama didn´t use this, as well as Hillary to blackmail congresscritters into getting dRATS needed agenda moved forward. Sure explains a lot if you think about it why the Jackass party seems to always be "winning".

Raid, nothing. They should all be impeached and dragged out of their offices to be replaced by the first 535 people in a fly-over phone book.

Tapping into cellular calls is much easier than getting into hard wire phone systems. It is highly illegal to do so. But, there was a time when you could buy a Radio shack scanner that had all the cell tower frequencies and you could- anyone could - sit back and listen to the cellular calls from people going down the highway in front of your house. I have never done that, but I knew people who did it way back before it was illegal and Radio Shack cut out those frequencies on their scanners. Just about any 2nd year electronics student can modify such "fixed" scanners to do it again. Also, some foreign scanners are not modified, and the old scanners are still available in garage sales and at Pawn Shops. For Senators to think such illegal snooping is rare, is almost laughable. No spy worth his secret pen would avoid doing such a monitoring operation. The number of gun murders by criminals with illegal guns should prove to these morons that just because something is illegal it does not happen.

Omaha, NE - Six young squirrels whose tails were stuck together by tree sap are recovering after a Nebraska wildlife expert untangled them. A Nebraska Humane Society worker rescued the squirrels from a pine tree in Omaha last week. Nebraska Wildlife Rehab executive director Laura Stastny told the Omaha World-Herald that the sap-covered tails became knotted as the youngsters wrestled in their nest. Stastny says they are about 8 weeks old. Windsor, England - Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at the royal wedding — stepping in after the father of the bride fell ill just days before the ceremony. Kensington Palace said Friday that Markle´s future father-in-law, the heir to the British throne, would walk the American actress down the aisle at St. George´s Chapel in Windsor for her wedding to Prince Harry. The palace says he "is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the Royal Family in this way." Doctors say former Russian spy Sergei Skripal has been discharged from a hospital, more than two months after he was poisoned with a nerve agent. Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious in the English city of Salisbury on March 4, and spent weeks in critical condition. Yulia recovered more quickly than her father and was discharged last month. Salisbury District Hospital said Friday that both patients had now been released. They have been taken to an undisclosed location for their safety. Britain says the pair was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent and that Russia was behind the attack. Moscow denies it,

It’s never easy to say you’re sorry. To admit you’re wrong. To announce publicly, “I made a mistake”. But to apologise when that apology comes bound up with what is, perhaps, the most intractable conflict on earth, makes it a thousand times harder. But that is what I am. Sorry. A few days ago I wrote a column about the latest round of violence on the border with Gaza. It was a cry from the heart. I love Israel. I have always loved it, and cannot envision a time when I will not love it. But in my office, I sit near a television set. And on Monday, I saw the following, side by side. On the left, in Jerusalem, I saw happy faces.

The Department of Justice Inspector General has sent what is described as an “extremely long and thorough draft” of the much anticipated report on the FBI and DOJ’s investigation and handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe, this reporter has learned. The detailed report on the FBI’s decision making process into the Clinton investigation could lead to possible criminal referrals for some of the officials involved in the case. Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report, which is expected to be released within the next three to four weeks to the public, has been turned over to current and former officials for review,

Twelve professions where

Serial killers may be known for their bloody work, but like the rest of us, they also hold day jobs to bring in the cash. Criminologist Professor Michael Arntfield has examined details of serial killers over the past five decades and has discovered a pattern: that these killers are more likely to be drawn to some jobs more than others. In his new book, “Murder in Plain English,” Arntfield outlines the top 12 professions that most attract serial killers — and the list is frightening. The jobs tend to be practical and “facilitate a desire to kill.” “[It’s a] combination of mobility, power (whether structural or actual), and the fact many jobs also

Wednesday’s report from Trump attorney Rudy Giulianni that Robert Mueller’s special counsel office has acknowledged that his office can’t indict a sitting president raises an important constitutional question. What is Mr. Mueller doing with a grand jury? Attorney Victoria Toensing wrote about this issue several days ago at Fox News.com. If Mueller cannot indict President Trump, what possible use can he make of any presidential testimony? The only option is that he will provide it to Congress for consideration of articles of impeachment. But referring President Trump’s testimony to Congress would abuse the grand

San Francisco - The Senate has voted to reinstate net neutrality protections, with three Republicans joining an effort to override a controversial Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision. A broader consumer backlash greeted the FCC’s decision earlier this year to repeal the Obama-era rules, which required internet service providers to treat all traffic equally. While supportive commissioners said doing away with cumbersome regulations would encourage innovation, critics warned the decision would undermine an open internet. In the months since, Democratic elected officials have pushed to invoke a law allowing Congress to reverse regulators, seizing on an issue that energises their constituents.
