Records fell as an April snowstorm blanketed the Upper Midwest. The National Weather Service says the 14.9 inches (37.8 centimeters) at Minneapolis airport from Friday through Sunday set a record for the largest April snowstorm ever there. It´s also the snowiest April on record in the Twin Cities. And it´s the snowiest start to a calendar year there, with 70.3 inches (178.6 centimeters) since Jan. 1. In South Dakota, Sioux Falls set records for a single day in April at 13.7 inches (34.8 centimeters) Saturday and a record April total of 24.9 inches (63.2 centimeters). This is the worst spring - actually, there is no spring - that I can remember. No buds on the trees, the daffodils leaves are barely emerging, and constant cold, rain and snow. This Al Gore effect has to stop!

It is hilarious. My super liberal friend I tell about now and then was trying to explain to me just last Saturday about how all this cold weather in the US is due to shifting warming patterns melting the poles and forcing the cooler climate out from the higher latitudes and that the warming trends were naturally going to force this dramatic cold snap.

I looked at him in awe. Then I said, "Do you even listen to yourself?" He quickly changed the subject.

Al Gore used to predict the end of arctic sea ice by 2013. Curiously, some people still pay attention to him.

Legendary singer Vic Damone passed away on Sunday at the age of 89, his family tells Fox News. Damone, whose smooth baritone led Frank Sinatra to famously declare he “had the best pipes in the business,” died at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Fla., surrounded by several close relatives. Damone starred in several television series, including "The Vic Damone Show" on NBC, and hit movies including "Kismet" and "Rich, Young and Pretty," but the crooner did not consider himself a true crossover star. “I never thought of myself that way,” Damone wrote in his memoir. “That wasn’t my particular

Baboons running wild around Paris sounds like it could be a good idea for plot of the next "Jumanji" movie, but it´s actually happening. The Paris Zoological Park said visitors have been evacauted from the popular attraction after members of its baboon population escaped from their enclosure. Initially, approximately 50 baboons were reported to have escaped, according to The Guardian. They were congregating around the centerpiece of the zoo, known as the Grand Rocher, or "Big Rock." It´s unclear whether the baboons were marking their territory or were simply checking out the rest of their digs.

NEW YORK (CBS) — A sketch of the man Stormy Daniels says threatened her lit up Twitter on Tuesday, with many seeing a resemblance to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Daniels appeared on ABC’s “The View” Tuesday morning with lawyer Michael Avenatti. They released a sketch of the man Daniels says approached her in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011 while she was carrying her infant daughter, and told her “not to go to police and leave Mr. Trump alone.” Daniels said the encounter happened after she had agreed to give a magazine her story about the alleged

Former FBI Director James B. Comey said Wednesday that he no longer considers himself a Republican. “I just think they’ve lost their way, and I can’t be associated with it,” Mr. Comey said on ABC News podcast “Start Here.” Mr. Comey attributed the change in the party to the 2016 election and said that after he was fired, he started to become more politically aware. He has been a lifelong Republican and said that in today’s party, the only Republican he does respect is former 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney. He called Mr. Romney, who is running for the open Senate seat in Utah, a “person of principle and honor.”

Washington - Dozens of Democratic U.S. Senators on Wednesday introduced a resolution calling for Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt to resign on allegations of ethics lapses. Those relate to the agency’s purchase of a $43,000 sound booth for his office and spending on travel and security. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.

As president of S.F. Travel, the city’s visitors bureau, Joe D’Alessandro’s job is to promote San Francisco. You’d think he’d be hyping the city’s gorgeous vistas, top-notch restaurants and glorious museums. Instead, he’s getting honest. Sure, San Francisco has great facets worthy of postcards and travel books, but it also has a worsening underbelly that D’Alessandro says he can no longer gloss over. People injecting themselves with drugs in broad daylight, their dirty needles and other garbage strewn on the sidewalks. Tent camps. Human feces. The threatening behavior of some people who appear either mentally ill or high. Petty theft. “The streets are

On Tuesday, Starbucks announced it will be closing 8,000 stores on May 29 so 175,000 employees can attend a training program that will address implicit bias, promote inclusion and help prevent discrimination, NBC reports. Eric Holder was tapped as one of the ‘experts’ to assist with training the employees. That’s all you need to know. NBC reported: Starbucks said Tuesday it will be closing all of its company-owned restaurants in the U.S. during the afternoon of May 29 to conduct a racial-bias education program. “I’ve spent the last few days in Philadelphia with my leadership team listening to the community,

McDougal said she is "relieved to be able to tell the truth" about her story. McDougal, who alleges she had a sexual relationship with Mr. Trump over 10 months in 2006 and 2007, had sued over the $150,000 contract she had with American Media, Inc., the company that owns The National Enquirer, for keeping her from speaking about it. Over the last five years, cancer research has seen the “greatest advances,” including a new approach to treating the complex disease as a “chronic disease,” instead of trying to cure it. “We have seen the greatest advances in cancer medicine in the last five years with drugs targeting the immune system moving into the clinic and showing remarkable response rates with quite a few different malignancies,” Lisa Coussens, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Cell, Developmental & Cancer Biology, said to Fox News at the American Association for Cancer Research annual conference. However, the response rates do not indicate that medical

University of Michigan Professor Sarah Ensor published an academic journal article this month that argues that humans should establish erotic relationships with plants. Originally highlighted by the Twitter account New Real Peer Review, Ensor’s journal article explores the field of “ecosexuality,” a term which means the sexual relationship between humans and plants. Advocates in the field argue that the Earth needs to be treated with love. In addition to reducing harmful environmental practices, ecosexuals believe that humans should physically make love to the Earth. Ensor, an English professor at the University of Michigan, begins by citing the “Ecosex Manifesto,” which

President Donald Trump’s tax cuts will be anything but for about 1 million California taxpayers who will owe Uncle Sam more money a year from now. They’re the Californians who will lose a collective $12 billion because the new law caps a deduction they have been able to take for paying their state and local taxes, according to a new analysis by the Franchise Tax Board.
