Tim Draper is a rich man, but he understands he doesn´t know it all. His first attempt to divide California into six states made very little sense. So he went out and got some people who are experts on the subject. The result, Cal 3, is a political masterpiece. This could work. When California was admitted to the union in 1850 it had only 92,000 people, most of them scrambling for gold in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. That´s why California´s county lines are so screwy. Los Angeles County now has 10,000,000 people. Alpine County has 1,000. Cal 3 divides the

What a rotten deal for every tax paying American. I want Mexifornia to secede. Get these lib losers out of America permantely. This 3 crap is just a way to soak the already overworked taxpayers. You give these Rats 2-3 senators and that my friends is the end of America as any person born before 1972 knows it. What a country the open borders, radical feminists, and sex perverts will have. There will be nothing left to leave decent children and grandchildren.

If you liberals want to break up your sinking state, fine, but don´t think we´re just going to set four more seats in the Senate and give you more electoral votes.
If what you call "California" wants to remain the State of California, then fine...you keep your two Senators and you lose all of the House seats that went with the rest of the state.
As for North and South California, they are not states, and as such would have no representation in the House or the Senate until they are admitted into the Union after proving that they are worthy of admission and gain the approval of the rest of the Country.
If you think you´re just going to pull a fast one, think again. People aren´t blind.

It seems he forgot about all the other current States that would have to vote to admit the three new Californias to the Union. Now why would they, especially the Republican leaning States, vote to essentially give California six liberal Democrat Senators instead of the two they have today? Chances are, if the new Californias’ had six liberal Democrat Senators, them and all the other Democrat Senators would always be in a position to control the US Senate and to thus create a very liberal Supreme Court that the Republican leaning States don’t want. If that was allowed to happen, Texas would probably leave the Union.

So 6 Senators from California, possibly all Democrat - what are their differences again? There is a lot of red in California but the boundaries must have been drawn to nullify them, again.

An alarming amount of ignorance and gullibility on this thread today. Obama will stand up and openly admit to being a fraud and ask our forgiveness while Hillary is giving back all the money she stole long before something like this happens. This loon has been blathering about this for quite a while, the number keeps changing, recently he wanted CA to become 6 states. the Flat Earth Society draws bigger crowds than he does. Keep in mind that this guy is heavily invested in Bitcoin, CA is so wealthy that some get rich by accident, and he is one of them.

Does being rich mean a reduced brain size. This guy, Tim Draper, is a king size doofus if he thinks the rest of the United States would go along with this stupid idea. Here´s my idea, reduce the size of the state by one third and give the entire bottom of California to Mexico. Mexico would thank you and change the bear on the flag over to an eagle with a snake. The upper two thirds would reduce it´s sitting represemtatives by that lost from the south after it is written off. Give all of the state´s debt to Mexico and start with a clean slate. This is too simple I know so leave the ´s...hole´ like it is.

I am not happy with this split. The split should be a 30-mile wide strip along the Pacific coast from north of Orange County all the way to Vancouver. Keep San Diego in the US. Kick the left coast out.

Liberals are probably trying to gerrymandering the new state lines to maximize their voting block. Then, if the rest of the country votes against admission, they´ll look for their favorite 9th circuit judges to declare opposition, unconstitutional.

This proposed breakup guarantees two additional democrat senators plus electoral votes. San Francisco being included in Northern California makes it the controlling factor. LA in central California guarantees it´s liberal dominance. San Diego being in Southern California is a crap shoot.
I´ve lived in Los Angeles and Riverside County. I can tell you that if you drive from the Pacific one hour due east, you will have entered an entirely different state.
Every republican in every state has the same problem. State politics are dominated by their liberal cities.

It’s always interesting to see the anonymous “experts” on California (the ones we know don’t live here) rave on and on about what California is, what is has been, what it should be. #11 gets it right. Ignorance and gullibility.
And they almost never have the guts to admit the name of the paradise they live in.
I still remember the naive woman (Texan by her own admission) who said “I’ve never been to California, but I know I wouldn’t like it.”

Be careful what you wish for.
Who would be determining the borders of the states. Can a state be gerrymandered like a congressional district.
If Jerry Brown and California´s lefty supreme court had any say, what plan would they support? Answer: Three states with democratic majorities.

Major names on Wall Street and in the Republican establishment are buying into Mitt Romney´s run for Senate, particularly as Republican lawmakers are looking to him as a future leader within a congressional caucus that is struggling to find its identity. According to first-quarter filings, Romney has been quietly receiving the financial backing of some of the most powerful names and donors in Republican circles, such as former Goldman Sachs CEO and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. The early contributions are not necessarily big, but they indicate a coordinated effort to push the former Massachusetts governor and presidential

There is a kind of modernity to the 19th-century story of New York archbishop John Hughes, in terms of three issues we still have cause to ponder in the United States: namely, the nature of community, the utility of any form of identity politics, and our national embrace of — and, in some quarters now, new skepticism about — multiple cultural identities. Hughes gave thought to the forces that were necessary to forge a tight-knit community, and his answers, if dangerous in our own day, seemed more reasonable to him. He did not share Bishop Benedict Joseph Fenwick’s gentleness when

In today´s public dialogue, there´s a lot of talk back and forth over the transgender issue. And why not? Transgenderism has been made into a cause celebre by the cultural elite. Many, myself included, view this as part of the ongoing effort by the Left to separate America from God and tradition. For that reason, it is worthwhile to delve a little deeper into the issue than what is normally provided by what is claimed by transgender people themselves.

What would Mr. Dooley make of the latest alarum from the New York Times about how America’s state courts are under “partisan attack”? Mr. Dooley is the fictional bartender who famously proclaimed that “the Supreme Court follows the election returns.” The Times has been set off by what is happening in Wisconsin, Kansas, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Those are among the states where voters are so upset with judicial decisions that they’re taking to politics to curb the courts. Across the country, the Times warns in an editorial, “state judges are under increasing fire from lawmakers and outside groups angered by their rulings, their power, their tenure or simply their independence.”

The Republican National Committee has committed $250 million to a midterm election strategy that has one goal above all else: Preserve the party´s House majority for the rest of President Donald Trump´s first term.Facing the prospect of a blue wave this fall, the White House´s political arm is devoting unprecedented resources to building an army of paid staff and trained volunteers across more than two dozen states. Long before he became speaker of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan had a simple dream: to play Jack Kemp to a future Republican president’s Ronald Reagan. In a cruel twist of fate, Ryan instead had to reprise Kemp’s role with President Trump. Kemp, Ryan’s idol, helped craft the tax cut that eventually became the centerpiece of Reagan’s supply-side economic agenda. From his early years representing a Wisconsin swing district in Congress, Ryan was unveiling sweeping budget and reform plans he hoped would someday become law.
