Assad and ‘First Lady of Hell’ live
life of luxury as horrific war rages

Despot Bashar al-Assad and his British-born wife, dubbed “the First Lady of Hell,” enjoy a lavish lifestyle while children are gassed to death on the streets of Syria. The Syrian tyrant and his spouse Asma al-Assad own an opulent palace estimated to be worth $1 billion in Damascus — less than 10 miles from Eastern Ghouta where innocent people are being massacred by pro-government forces. Once known as Syria’s Princess Diana, Asma is now a reviled figure in her own country. In 2012, Wikileaks published private emails from the 42-year-old Brit showing she had splashed out $350,000 on 130 pieces of furniture when

Too bad no one ever took the chance of removing Assad Jr. or his father. I guess there were no viable replacements to fill the political void. The Syrian wars & the war in Lebanon have been a years long travesty.

I doubt a wife, educated and born in the UK aside, really has much say in what happens in this country, even if hubby is running it-into the ground. And she may cope by spending his money. BUT if she has any thought beyond one day she better find a way to leave and take the kids, destruction is coming her way and the bomb that takes out Assad may include his family.

The degree of opulence in which the leadership of abused and suffering countries live usually is a telltale sign of their unfitness for leadership. I offer you Kim Jong Un, Barry Soetoro, Michael Robinson, Yasser and Mrs. Arafat and a long list of other despicable jackasses.

8 is swerving into it. This is about a gas pipeline from Qatar to Europe and it threatens Putin´s Gazprom monopoly over Europe´s natty gas needs.

Oh yeah, until the UN, The Holy Hawaiian, Effin´ Kerry, McQueeg, Gramnesty, Hillary and the education, media and entertainment complex admit to lying about removing Chemical weapons from Syria, there was NO chemical attack by Assad because he has no chemical weapons, freaking period.

And there´s a despot, evil man living in the lap of luxury? Wow! Let´s go bomb about 533 people who start out as paupers and retire as multimillionaires for lying their entire career and doing nothing but failing their oaths and urinating on the Constitution, not to mention the despots in Brussels. Let´s also not forget to thank the "boots on the ground" military who get to die and get wounded and screwed up in their heads for their service for getting rid of Assad then failing to make Syria, Afghanistan, and the rest of the Middle East, Xanadu because 536 people run the show.

Nothing new. Vogue ran a puff piece on her some years back. It has been “disappeared” from the internet, but many references to it and excerpts from it can be found if one does a search for A Rose in the Desert by Joan Juliet Buck.

An excerpt from a Daily Mail article:

When writer Joan Juliet Buck embarked on her feature piece about Asma al-Assad for U.S. Vogue, she did so with the intention of describing a chic, educated and glamourous First Lady, one who the magazine had long been trying to chase down for an interview.

But when the article coincided so hauntingly with the beginning of the President´s despotic crackdown on his people, it was quickly pulled from the magazine´s website while Mrs al-Assad´s character and her role within the regime became a shadowy question mark.

Now Ms Buck has expressed regret that she was ever exposed to the Assads and despite coming under fire for having penned such a glowing review of the First Lady, says she was horrified by what she saw during her time there.

8 and 9 have their finger on the truth. It is just a geographic play for Putin.

Russia is a hopeless mess, will never again produce anything worthwhile in factories for external sale until their government (kleptocracy) is entirely changed. This seems unlikely in the foreseeable future.

So, Putin´s on real cashflow and main power, comes from selling oil and gas. If the middle east is able to pipe gas to Ukriane and the rest of Europe, Putin´s fulcrum for his power leverage will be gone.

He is in Syria to stop the pipeline, pure and simple money and power play.

Putin needs his money and his power via energy control.

The Strait of Gibralter is only about 9 miles wide. I wonder how hard it would be to put a pipeline under the sea there and move all that gas north into Europe? Seems pretty doable from an engineering standpoint.

Putin would be really angry, and would suddenly be interested in being friends with Morocco, Libya and Egypt to try to stop gas from flowing that way.

President Trump nominated his justice quickly; Republican senators need to act just as fast. If history tells us anything, it’s that they may not get another chance, even if Trump is re-elected in 2020. The rest were appointed and confirmed in the brief periods when one party controlled both the White House and the Senate. When did OJ become POTUS? President Trump told a Helsinki press conference Monday that Russian strongman Vladimir Putin has an “interesting idea” about resolving questions on election meddling in the 2016 election: create a joint American-Russian committee on inquiry. That is, Moscow and Washington will together investigate whether Russian agents were responsible for hacking the DNC computers, as a US prosecutor answerable to Trump alleged late last week. They’ll find who’s responsible for other election shenanigans, which Trump’s top intel officials believe to be Russia’s handiwork.
