President Trump poised to pardon Scooter Libby,
Dick Cheney´s former chief of staff, sources say

ABC News, by Jonathan Karl, Katherine Faulders **

President Donald Trump is poised to pardon Scooter J. Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, according to sources familiar with the president’s thinking. The president has already signed off on the pardon, which is something he has been considering for several months, sources told ABC News. The move would mark another controversial pardon for Trump and could raise questions as an increasing number of the president’s political allies have landed themselves in legal jeopardy. The White House has repeatedly said that no pardons are currently on the table for people caught up in the Russia investigation

He was charged for having an imperfect recollection of a conversation from a year before he was interviewed. His prosecution was a travesty, a miscarriage of justice. Having said that, I´m shocked and dismayed that former president Bush didn´t pardon him a dozen years ago. As the years pass, I´ve found less and less to admire about W.

Previous posters nailed it. The in your face ongoing coup that is happening would consider this ´controversial´ but any normal American citizen understands the evil media spin.

I really can´t imagine where this will end. I know the status quo pigs in DC won´t stop because of self interest. I know the left won´t stop because control over others is their entire existence. The media won´t stop because they love to create a frenzy and they actually think they are in charge of everything. I know what I would like to see, but I will understand if it falls apart like many other times in history. Evil forces a fight to the death so we will see.

I´m not making excuses for him, but perhaps W chose not to pardon him because he was afraid it would damage his baby brother´s future quest for the Presidency. If that´s true, then it is really appalling that one man´s fate was at the mercy of another´s "destiny."

Long overdue. Good for both Libby and Trump. This was further proof that the Democrats govern poorly, and the Republicans don´t govern at all.

The Democrats railroaded and honest man, and Bush did nothing to stop it. It takes a different kind of Republican like Trump to do the right thing, and actually govern.

He was also gifted with the ability to look deeply into Putin´s eyes and see his soul.

Methinks he had fallen off the wagon one too many times —— never got through the "concussion" protocols either.

And Scooter suffered for it. Shame on him.

Libby´s testimony was slightly different from what Russert said/testified and that was the basis for the perjury charge.

Hungary´s all-powerful premier Viktor Orban, his party victorious in elections Sunday, is the self-styled defender of Christian Europe against the "poison" of immigration, an admirer of "illiberal democracy" and a thorn in the European Union´s side. Preliminary results from the elections put Orban´s Fidesz party on course to win a thumping 49 percent of the vote, likely giving him a commanding two-thirds majority in parliament once again. With his disdain for the "globalist elite", Orban´s fiery, nationalist populism has made him a poster boy for "patriots" everywhere. He avoids the Bob Woodward fly-on-the-wall unattributed anecdote, and “they say” gossip mongering. Nor is the book a rush-to-publish product from former insiders of the Trump campaign or administration. It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump. SEATTLE – The Seattle City Council on Monday approved a controversial but compromise head tax on large businesses to pay for programs for the homeless. The tax would raise about $48 million a year – less than the original proposal of $75 million but more than the $40 million that Mayor Jenny Durkan had proposed. Durkan says she will sign the bill. Amazon, downtown´s economic giant, immediately blasted the proposal and what it said was a hostile approach to larger businesses that "forces us to question our growth here."
