‘Chappaquiddick’ Distorts a Tragedy
New York Times, by Neal Gabler

Original Article

Senator Edward Kennedy, one of the most famous members of America’s most famous family, understood that he belonged as much to popular culture as to political culture. Now, nine years after his death, comes a movie about the event that, almost as much as the circumstances of his birth, established him in the tabloid pantheon: Chappaquiddick. The film, by the same name, opened Friday and retells the story of an accident in July 1969, on the titular Massachusetts island near Martha’s Vineyard, in which Mr. Kennedy drove off a bridge, killing his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker for his

Aren´t these the same "News" people who thought of Stalin as "Uncle" Joe?

The only tragedy is that it didn´t end Kennedy´s career.

Leaving a young woman to slowly suffocate in an air bubble. Reporting the incident hours later. Then using the family´s vicious power to suppress and distort for years is not a tragedy. It is a selfish ruthless crime. Don´t know what dictionary the Times uses.

A man who Is known to be a drunk, a frat boy in a man’s body, a serial abuser of women, a liar and a cheat left a young woman to die in the car that he crashed into the water in the wee hours of a summer morning after a party. He didn’t go to the police for several hours to report the accident and the girl died. These are facts. The author tries to rewrite history for the ignorant and say that the idea that a cover up occurred is the provenance of the Tin Foil Hat Brigade. I suspect the author’s upcoming biography of Ted Kennedy misrepresents the criminally feckless and cowardly senator as a hero of the people. If so, “Chappaquiddick” not only threatens his books’ sales but leaves the author looking ridiculous. Hence, this cynical article.

Nice to know that even after 50 years the NYT is still bending over for the Kennedys. That´s loyalty. Yes, technically it was an accident but he left her to die to cover his own ass. All he had to do was to tell someone, one person, that help was needed. But since Uncle Teddy passed some NYT/liberal approved legislation we need to let this hostility go. For goodness sake he was "haunted" and "dismayed" about the whole episode. Poor Teddy, poor victim. The loss of one human life is certainly not too much to give so that the lion of the senate (how stupid is that phrase) could reign over us.

Not unexpectedly, big liberal media is going to defend this fat, worthless, horse´s patoot. Kennedy´s distinguished career consisted of giving away OPM to democrat voters. That hardly sets him above the democrat crowd let alone making him a Lion. He was a drunk, a low IQ jerk and a misogynist. He spent his last ten years of life sleeping in a Senate chair and sucking up taxpayer money for doing nothing. If he felt any remorse for the murder of this young lady, he certainly didn´t show it.

The Kennedys are well-heeled mongrels. Chappaquiddick Ted was the worst of the lot. An unbelievably abusive drunk and a sociopath who never felt one bit of remorse. The cur responsible for our illegal alien invasion is lucky Pope Commie I declared an end to Hell so Ted can cool his heels somewhere else. At least he can´t kill any more women here on earth.

His was a large-life, tragic and multidimensional figure, and it could have made, and perhaps someday will make, for an expansive novel or film about sin and redemption. “Chappaquiddick” is not that movie. Instead of excavating Kennedy for larger artistic aims, it eviscerates him for narrow voyeuristic ones.

Yeah, that´s right. The movie "distorts" Fat Teddy´s story because it fails to recognize his contribution to the Progressive Movement that "redeemed" him. It´s not often you see it so expressly stated -- you can behave as badly as you want, so long as you vote and act Progressive.

Contrary to the writer´s claim, the story hasn´t been "told plenty." Most young people do not know the full story, rather think of Ted K. as "the Lion of the Senate."

But of course it runs in the family. One of the best looks at JFK´s sordid use of women is written by one of the young interns in his White House. Mimi Alford was only 19, and her book is "Once Upon a Secret."

A friend of mine was one of Joe Kennedy´s nurses after his stroke. Contrary to what Neil Gabler thinks, old Joe could do more than babble. Added to that, Neil skirts over a number of issues, such as the fact of how difficult it was to take the dirt road that led to the bridge instead of staying on the main road, and that on his way back to the party, Kennedy could have stopped at well lit houses to ask for help and/or report the "accident," but didn´t. Gabler could have mentioned that 10 hours lapsed before Kennedy called police and he could have mentioned Kennedy´s phony neck brace. So many details are distorted in this article it´s hardly worth reading.

If you are promoting a worthy cause, anything can be over looked, right?
Hitler was a "Germany first" proponent, and a few dead Jews was "for the cause". ISIS just wanted their religion to be upheld, and a few behead people was needful "for the cause". Ted needed to continue the democratic wave that was started by his brothers, and a dead woman should not hinder "that worthy cause".

Because you know how to leave out facts and distort the truth. old Joe may have had a stroke but he was very capable of controlling things. Other wise why would have little teddy gone to him for help.
old joe acquired his fortune by selling metal to the enemy, That metal was used to make munitions to kill our soldiers during the war. The whole Kennedy bunch, from old joe right on down the the brat that killed a 16 year old girl are nothing but trash. And you Neal, support them.

They’ll find who’s responsible for other election shenanigans, which Trump’s top intel officials believe to be Russia’s handiwork. Hillary Clinton loyalist Philippe Reines, who served as a senior State Department appointee under Clinton and later as campaign adviser for Clinton’s losing 2016 presidential bid, organized a protest at the White House Monday night timed for the return home around 9 p.m. EDT by President Donald Trump from his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland earlier Monday. Reines was joined at the protest by current Hillary political adviser Adam Parkhomenko, who said Trump-hating porn star attorney Michael Avenatti would be at the White House to protest Tuesday night. Reines posted video of himself holding an air

Democratic Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Monday called for the “military folks” to save America from President Donald Trump after Trump’s much-criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!” Cohen wrote on Twitter, using language suggestive of a military coup. (Tweet) Cohen later said that he was in no way calling for a coup. “No coup called for,” he wrote, claiming it unlikely that someone would call for a coup on Twitter. Cohen’s bizarre tweet was similar to one from former Obama CIA Director

When Presidents Trump and Vladimir Putin ended their joint press conference in Helsinki, the punditocracy predictably swarmed all over it like ants around a pile of crumbs. Was Trump winking at Putin? Did he really say he believes Putin more than he believes Robert Mueller about whether Russia interfered in the 2016 election? Former Gus Hall enthusiast John Brennan, off his meds again, tweeted that the presser was “treasonous.” Professional chatterer Anderson Cooper said it was “perhaps one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president at a summit.” Every phrase, every gesture of the event will be picked

President Donald Trump’s comments during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday were “treasonous,” former CIA Director John Brennan asserted. “Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors,’” Brennan, a vocal Trump critic, wrote on Twitter. “It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???” Trump and Putin fielded questions from reporters at a joint summit in Helsinki following a one-on-one meeting earlier in the day. Trump praised Putin during

JOHANNESBURG — Without ever mentioning President Donald Trump by name, former U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday took aim at “strongman politics” in his highest-profile speech since leaving office, urging people around the world to respect human rights and other values now under threat in an impassioned address marking the 100th anniversary of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela’s birth. Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the new darling of the Democratic party. In a recent interview, however, the upstart politico running in a hyper-liberal district in New York did not show command of the issues. Ocasio-Cortez was being interviewed by Margaret Hoover on the PBS show ‘Firing Line.’ Hoover asked very basic, softball questions of the young congressional candidate. In explaining her positions on the economy, Hoover asked Ocasio-Cortez “Do you think that capitalism has failed to deliver for working class Americans?” Hoover cited a currently booming US economy and low unemployment.

Was Russia´s effort to interfere in the 2016 election the most important issue on the table at President Trump´s Helsinki summit with Vladimir Putin? No. But it´s not an unimportant issue, either, and Trump knew the American press is obsessed with it. So he knew it would play a big role in the Trump-Putin post-summit news conference. There are all sorts of aspects to the Trump-Russia affair, but in light of special counsel Robert Mueller´s decision to indict 12 Russian intelligence agents on the Friday before the Monday summit, the president also knew reporters would want to hear him specifically affirm
