Gina Haspel in the dock for
doing her duty, legally

New York Daily News, by Editorial

President Trump’s choice of veteran CIA operative Gina Haspel to lead the nation’s top spy agency has set off a cascade of protest from advocates who condemn her as an apologist for torture, if not a monstrous war criminal. Haspel’s role in the agency’s enhanced interrogation program deserves Senate scrutiny. But the effort to drown her in righteous indignation, overlook the rest of her long and strong record, and deem her summarily disqualified from leading the intelligence shop is woefully misguided. More than 16 years after the destruction of the World Trade Center, there is much the American public still does not

She´s going to be great, otherwise Trump wouldn´t have tapped her.

I hope they put the hearings on tv; she´ll be lionized. This writer is one of a very few people who have any misgivings about water-boarding the mastermind of the Cole bombings.

We have since come to know better: that waterboarding is in fact torture, contrary to the Geneva Conventions and American values

NO, it isn´t damn it. It works. For those of us who have BEEN water boarded and didn´t turn into axe murderers and didn´t need six months of coloring book therapy afterwards, please get some perspective and reality dust here;

The GOP has a majority in the Senate, so why is this a problem. Do your job, quit whining, and listing all the problems with it. You have the power, so use it, and do it today.

If anything, we were too easy on those rabid dogs who attacked our country because we don´t approve of their backward religion. They torture their own people far worse than pouring water over their faces. We should have been dragging them through schools of sharks at Gitmo until they either agreed to talk or became fish food.

When the Apaches really wanted to show their enemies some pain, they let the women have them.

In a sane world Gina Haspel would be celebrated as a highly courageous patriot, but here a bad assortment of RINOS cringe in fear as self serving Democrats demand their disgust. It is sickening to witness.

No, we haven´t come to know that waterboarding is torture, just because the left says that it is. Questioning islamic terrorists using Waterboarding is being too nice to them. These are people who mass murder innocent civilians, enslave women, and cut heads off. Nothing should be out of bounds in fighting them until their evil is eradicated.

Why does ABC News entrust its coverage of Hillary Clinton stories to one of the former first family’s longtime capos? George Stephanopoulos, who served for years as an adviser to former President Bill Clinton, can sit across from former FBI director James Comey and say things like, “Your critics say this is a clear, clear, clear double standard. You revealed information about Hillary Clinton. You concealed information about Donald Trump. That elected Donald Trump,” and “you´ve decided to say publicly there is a criminal investigation — of Hillary Clinton, which many considered a break with precedent” and the press considers this

Move over, Trump Derangement Syndrome. Another unhinged liberal pathology is back: Chick-fil-A-phobia. Perhaps, in the interest of public health, the CDC should launch a weekly C-F-A-P surveillance report to map the recurrence of this culturally infectious disease. Early-onset symptoms include fear of pressure-cooked poultry, allergic reaction to waffle potato fries and an irrational hatred of cow costumes. Anti-Christian prejudice and coastal elitism are common comorbidities associated with this debilitating progressive condition. Ground zero for the latest outbreak? The headquarters of The New Yorker magazine. This week´s issue online features the bigoted lament of writer Daniel Piepenbring, who decries the fast-food chain´s "creepy infiltration"

Democrats and some concerned Republicans have been warning for months that firing special counsel Robert Mueller would be a point of no return for President Donald Trump. That speculative frontier advanced even further over the weekend, after the New Yorker’s Adam Davidson declared that the Trump presidency has now entered its “end stages,” following a raid on the office and hotel room of Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen. What these predictions rather conspicuously lack is any attempt to explain precisely the series of events that would be Trump’s formal undoing. In the case of Mueller’s firing, Democrats, in typical Democratic

Even as Jim Comey and John Brennan lecture the American people on what is “normal,” they adopt an astonishingly abnormal role for former heads of the CIA and FBI — the role of coup leaders whose partisanship grows more reckless by the day. “This is not a tin-pot dictatorship,” says Comey. But aren’t Brennan and Comey acting like officials of a displaced one? They are trying to claw back to power by spreading unverified charges against a duly elected president. Brennan says without evidence that the Russians have “something” on Trump. Comey says without evidence that it is “possible” Trump paid

In his ABC interview, fired FBI Director James Comey was asked about reports that he told Congress, in March 2017, that the FBI agents who interviewed Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn did not think Flynn had lied to them — even though Flynn, several months later, pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI. Did Comey tell lawmakers that? Here is the exchange between Comey and ABC´s George Stephanopoulos: STEPHANOPOULOS: There´s been some reporting that — at —at — at one point you told the Congress that the agents who interviewed Mike Flynn didn´t believe that he had lied.

For a newspaper that prides itself on its supposed devotion to science and rationality, the New York Times sure does publish a lot of tripe anthropomorphizing plants. For example, there was that professor who appeared in the Sunday Opinion section arguing that “peas are a who,” and that humans should only eat fruit and vegetables from perennials that we harvest “as a gift of vegetal being.” Then there was the Times’ science columnist (!!) Natalie Angier claiming the plants “are the ethical autotrophs” because they don’t kill to stay alive. (Well, there are those Venus flytraps, but never mind.) Now in the Book

Wow, 20,000! That seems like a lot. And the lawmakers who questioned Zuckerberg must have thought so because nobody brought up what I am about to. SAN DIEGO — The Trump administration said Monday that California Gov. Brown elicited rare and effusive praise from President Donald Trump last week for pledging 400 troops to the Guard’s third large-scale border mission since 2006. There’s nothing sadder than a small city. A small town has its lawns and picket fences and wholesome values, a big town its go-getters and civic fathers. A big city has its strivers and fine food and bright lights. But a small city, full of drifters and vacant lots, faded Victorian houses lining its weed-buckled streets, is ruinously sad. Such a city will have many of the bad elements of a metropolis and few of the good. It will have desperate people, lost causes, and crime. It will have mobsters. Danbury, Connecticut, is the ultimate small city. Depending on whom you ask, Jimmy

Nawabi, a 31-year-old candidate for San Diego City Council, supports almost everything that Trump opposes: He is pro-affordable housing, pro-environment, pro-immigrant and pro-refugee. That makes him part of the blue wave of new liberal candidates spurred to run by Trump´s election and policies. But Nawabi is also part of a notable subset: the blue Muslim wave.
