Fearing a Utah ´coronation´,
11 Republicans challenge Romney

Philadelphia Inquirer, by Michelle L. Price

Original Article

Eleven Republicans stepped forward before a Thursday evening filing deadline to challenge former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in the Utah Senate race, including a state lawmaker who says an "establishment insider" can´t fix problems in Washington. Many of the candidates acknowledge the David-vs-Goliath nature of challenging the famous and popular Romney, but they say someone needs to keep the race to replace Republican Orrin Hatch from becoming a "coronation.” "I think he's just expecting to run away with this thing,"

Mitt should pay the 11 to run. It assures his republican nomination.

The writer here has fallen for the Utah ploy.
It tricked us, too, when we first moved here.
Watch closer.
Either all or almost all of these "candidates" will drop out as the day approaches.
All who drop out will "throw their support" to Mitt.
Later each one who does so is rewarded with a position in the GOP or Mormon organizations.
All this really does is discourage REAL opposition candidates from bothering to add their name to the list.
There may be one opponent who stays on the ballot but his support will have been diluted.

"rep·li·cant (noun)

(in science fiction film ´Blade Runner´) a genetically engineered or artificial being created as an exact replica of a particular type of human being."

Mitt Romney is a Republicant. He is a politically-engineered simulation of a conservative candidate. He says and does whatever he has to do get elected. He mouths conservatism when it advances him, but viciously attacks conservatives whenever they get in his way. In 2012, he ran a filthy primary to secure the nomination and then lost the general to the worst president in history.

In 2016, Romney opposed the nominee of his own party and tried to elect a woman who would have destroyed conservatives and irreparably damaged our country. After the election, he begged the man he opposed for a job. Now he is campaigning for high office in a party whose President he has disavowed.

He is completely devoid of principles. If elected, Romney will undermine our president, give aid and comfort to his enemies, and attack him whenever it is politically advantageous and safe to do so.

The Republican Establishment wants to buy Romney a seat so he can sell you out. Don´t trust them. Don´t believe him. Don´t vote for him.

Anyone But Romney.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised to see how unpopular Romney has become except for, of course, the GOPe. Romney succeeded in Massachusetts because the majority of voters there are like him. You don´t get socialized healthcare and sky high taxes unless you are a true blue liberal. No to Romney, he blew his chance at the White House and I believe he did it purposely. He lost an easy election against a coke head idiot who had already established a record of dismal failure and corruption.

After finding out the two latest business bankruptcies (TRU, and IheartRadio) were pretty much built by the front loading of debt onto the business thanks to Bain Capital, I don´t feel so certain that Romney is going to be elected.

Utah folks put up with a lot, but even that kind of manipulation of a business to the point of its collapse is too much for most voters. Romney has a carefully crafted facade of being a good businessman, but the businesses he was responsible for while head of Bain are suddenly going under, thanks to Bain´s manipulation.

I fear that Utah voters will indeed coronate Romney, the understudy for McCain. I suppose Romney deserves the goodwill of Utahns for running the Salt Lake Olympics.... but for nothing else. And of course Romney is a co-religionist. I don´t know if Mormons are the majority anymore in Utah or not.

Senator Palin or Gingrich in Utah LOL?

Gingrich was a chief opponent to Mitt when being considered for Sec of State And threatened to get a conservative coalition to stop Mitt in Texas (Palin throwing support to Gingrich in SC just delayed Mitt getting in earlier against Obama who was unopposed. This little threat made me sure that all the candidates in 2008 ad a coalition to stop the man who looked the part of American president)) Not a whole lot of wisdom and thinking on the part of those who will mix religion with politics.

So opposing Mitt the Mormon in Utah we now have a right religion candidate that isn´t Tea party right religion?

Mitt Romney will win Utah handily AND represent us well just as has Orrin Hatch who was hand picked by Reagan and asked to run as Senator.

Flip flopping? Well if one listens to the people you might expect different actions in the most liberal state in the union (Mass) and the most conservative or consistently Republican.

Free to waste money and time trying to get someone less trusted or with such high name recognition as Mitt Romney.

IMO he ran for gov in Mass because at the time his father George Romney ran only east coast candidates were being chosen?

Mit isn´t going to Washington to oppose the president--Utah wouldn´t like that.

Mitt Romney spoke out against "trade wars" on Friday after President Trump imposed tariffs on $34 billion of Chinese imports, prompting Beijing to respond with its own tariffs on U.S. goods. “Trade wars are a tax on Americans. Romney said trade wars are particularly punishing for agriculture, which is a sector in Utah the former GOP presidential contender said is “already under duress from wildfire, drought, and challenging public land policies.” “Our national objective should be to open new markets, negotiate free

Jordan denies knowing about the doctor’s misconduct. The question, then, isn’t what Jordan did; it’s what he knew. That’s usually a difficult kind of inquiry.
