FBI disciplinary office recommends firing
former deputy director Andrew McCabe

Washington Post, by Matt Zapotosky

The FBI office that handles employee discipline has recommended firing the bureau’s former deputy director over allegations that he authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to a reporter and misled investigators when asked about it — though Justice Department officials are still reviewing the matter and have not come to a final decision, a person familiar with the case said. The recommendation from the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility is likely to add fuel to the political fire surrounding former deputy director Andrew McCabe, who abruptly stepped down from his post earlier this year but technically remained an FBI employee. This will define where Sessions stands.

From CTH: An OPR recommendation for disciplinary firing puts AG Jeff Sessions into a box; he has two options: Option #1 is fire McCabe. Option #2 is set aside the OPR ruling and allow McCabe to retire. Sessions has to take one of those two actions.

He gets full benefits at age 49?? When did he start, at 19?? Any normal pension plan requires you put in 30 years for full benefits. I am sure it is a six figure income plus full health care etc for life. After all, he slaved as an impoverished federal employee for all those years and did not have to pay into social security.

Fire Him!!

Re #16 - Calculations for federal employees pensions are not the same as in the private sector. Plus McCabe was in a law enforcement position and they have mandatory retirement at a certain age with a required number of years - usually 25 years of service.

This will be a bellwether test, to see if the FBI will correct, determine if they are interested in rehabbing their reputation. It will also show whether Mr Sessions is going to give the DC swamp cover for illegal/dishonorable acts. If Mr Sessions does not fire him, it will just be another feather in the hat that the FBI is no longer a respectable and worthy institution, just a tool of socialists. One of the above posters is probably correct, they will probably drag their feet and act like they forgot about firing McGoob, woops-McCabe, in a timely manner, before pension kicks in.

Andrew McCabe — who was fired as FBI deputy director last month — hit back at former FBI Director James Comey, saying he was not telling the truth in an interview earlier Wednesday. “Comey has relied on the accuracy and the soundness of the Office of the Inspector General´s (OIG) conclusions in their report on Mr. McCabe. In fact, the report fails to adequately address the evidence (including sworn testimony) and documents that prove that Mr. McCabe advised Director Comey repeatedly that he was working with the Wall Street Journal on the stories in question prior to publication,” said Michael Bromwich,

A poll by the Public Religion Research Institute shows that support for President Trump among white evangelicals has hit a record high of 75 percent. Only 22 percent view the president unfavorably. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.

University of Michigan Professor Sarah Ensor published an academic journal article this month that argues that humans should establish erotic relationships with plants. Originally highlighted by the Twitter account New Real Peer Review, Ensor’s journal article explores the field of “ecosexuality,” a term which means the sexual relationship between humans and plants. Advocates in the field argue that the Earth needs to be treated with love. In addition to reducing harmful environmental practices, ecosexuals believe that humans should physically make love to the Earth. Ensor, an English professor at the University of Michigan, begins by citing the “Ecosex Manifesto,” which

The House Committee on Agriculture approved by voice vote an amendment to the farm bill Wednesday that would make all sales of domesticated canines and felines illegal, Politico reported. “Adopting this policy signals that the United States will not tolerate the disturbing practice in our country,” California Republican Rep. Jeff Denham said in a statement as he introduced the amendment. Some believed the ban unnecessary, as eating dogs and cats is rare in the

President Donald Trump’s tax cuts will be anything but for about 1 million California taxpayers who will owe Uncle Sam more money a year from now. They’re the Californians who will lose a collective $12 billion because the new law caps a deduction they have been able to take for paying their state and local taxes, according to a new analysis by the Franchise Tax Board.
