Exclusive: Deputy who hid outside Stoneman

The Florida school cop branded a coward for failing to tackle mass shooter Nikolas Cruz is seen for the first time - enjoying his taxpayer-funded retirement. Sheriff´s Deputy Scot Peterson, 54, chose to resign and retire rather than face an internal affairs investigation for ´seeking cover´ while AR-15 wielding Cruz slaughtered kids inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. That means the 33-year law enforcement veteran will keep his $60,000 pension unless he´s hit with a federal charge of failing to act, which legal experts say will be hard to prove. Peterson appeared happy and relaxed Saturday as he headed to a strip mall,

Comments:
Slow to lift a finger to save those kids, but he´s a quick-draw artist when it comes to working the system. He should trade that pink shirt for an orange jumpsuit, or at a minimum, tar and feathers.

you knew this. he was NOT going to risk his life when all he was doing was milking out a light duty assignment till he could retire. Wonder if he was also finding a way to load up on OT while he was a "resource officer" to push up his retirement benefit.

I heard audio of the Sheriffs dept radio traffic after it started and the commander in charge gave the order for cops to stay back 500 feet from the buildings. I suggest the officer in question was just obeying orders. I’m not a special pleader for him but so far my verdict is not guilty. Have a nice retirement.

An impoverished African country which has received hundreds of millions of pounds in aid from British taxpayers is paying £30 million to sponsor Arsenal – one of the world´s richest football clubs. Rwanda, which is getting £62 million this year alone from the UK, has paid the Premier League club to promote the country´s tourist industry on players´ shirts. The astonishing deal will also give Rwanda´s despotic ruler Paul Kagame and his cronies the use of an exclusive hospitality box at the London club´s Emirates Stadium, piles of match-day tickets and access to star players for promotional work.

Until 1968, Walter Cronkite believed what his government told him about the Vietnam War. He was an old-school journalist, a patriot, a man who came of age covering World War II as a wire-service reporter and then taking over as the anchor of “The CBS Evening News” at the height of the Cold War. Like most journalists of his generation, he embraced the fight against communism and understood why the United States had intervened in the war raging in Vietnam. I will venture a prediction: by the end of President Trump’s first term, it will be obvious that Hillary Clinton’s health would not have permitted her to serve effectively as president, had she won the 2016 election. Hillary falls down and faints. She needs help going up and down stairs. There are persistent rumors that she drinks too much. During the campaign, there were many days when Hillary was AWOL. Her schedule was weirdly light for someone running for the presidency. Many have commented on the fact that Hillary never went to Wisconsin, but the more basic fact is that there were lots of days when she didn’t go anywhere.
