Science teacher fed live puppy to snapping
turtle in front of students, witnesses say

Fox News, by Greg Norman

An Idaho middle school science teacher who reportedly fed a sick puppy to a snapping turtle in front of his students remained the subject of a police investigation Tuesday. The reported incident in Robert Crosland’s classroom allegedly happened after school hours on March 7 at Preston Junior High School, located roughly 300 miles east of Boise. “Preston School District was made aware of a regrettable circumstance involving some of the biological specimens at Preston Jr. High,” the district said in a statement. “We emphasize that at no time was the safety of students or staff compromised.”

Comments:
FTA: "As of Tuesday, Crosland has not been charged or placed on leave."

My child would be pulled from that school immediately. This is the sort of thing psychopaths do, but to do this in front of children takes it to a whole new level.

Change the reptile to a snake and the mammal to a rodent and nobody says a word. See, that´s natural. Perhaps the reptile should have been a gator since small dogs are often dinner for gators.

Was the action of the teacher as cruel as it seems?

All jokes aside but whether it was a "sick puppy´ or a kitten or a snake or whatever being fed to the snapping turtle. What exactly is being taught to these children by this event? That predators eat? Poor or even non science dressed up as education serves no purpose.

Thank god it wasn´t a guppy and a brine shrimp or a Homo sapiens and a live-boiled lobster.

Or a pet snake and a pinky.

Life eats life. Welcome.

There are some things best taught in the home. Don´t really need the "where meat comes from" lesson assistance. Or where babies come from for that matter.

As #1 intimates, while in the natural world, a sentient vertebrate being torn apart and eaten by a reptile may be ´natural´, in our genteel human world, such cruelty has no place, whether its a rat, a cat, or a puppy that suffers. Our family has kept pet tame rats - which are more affectionate than cats, and cleaner than dogs - for more than a decade. It disturbs us that people feed these sweet creatures to snakes as much as it disturbs most people that this turtle was fed a puppy.

Disgusting. I don´t think it is necessary to feed a mouse to a snapping turtle -- and I´m no fan of mice.

My child would know longer attend that school. This demonstration serves no legitimate purpose.

The teacher can rot in hell! You don´t make a spectacle out of death -- no death at all.

That´s right folks!
Food comes from a grocery store, not nature.
Those millions of mice, voles, gophers, moles etc... that are shredded by tills every year don´t do it for the vegetables you eat. Everyone know that corn doesn´t grow in a can or frozen bag the way it magically appears on the shelf.

You may feel morally superior because you hire people to kill small animals rather than doing it yourself, but in truth you have things backward.

The puppy howling in pain would haunt me forever.

I know that animals eat each other in the wild, and even puppies get eaten. However, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT!

Nor do I want to see the cow that I´m about to eat get slaughtered.

Let me tell you why: Because horror has its own reward. When you do such horror in front of children, you destroy their childhood. You are prepping them for stronger doses of reality, such as sex education, why little Johnny wears dresses, what a sex change operation involves, why Suzie has two mommies.- etc.

This kind of horror was shown to future Nazi Concentration camp guards- Yes! SS children were taken into training, by giving them a German shepherd puppy to raise and train. Impressionable 12 and 13 year old boys! Over a year they trained and nurtured the dog, entered it into contests, trained with it, it sleeping next to their beds at night, standing guard with them. Then on graduation, one by one they were called in to an interview, given a pistol with one bullet and told to shoot the dog. Those that hesitated were graded less than the ones who instantly pulled the trigger, killing the dog. Those who refused, an assistant shot the dog anyway and the boy was relegated to the army. Those who passed the test were given their coveted SS tattoos!

I realize this "teacher´s" displayed cruelty does not come close to that horror above- but it´s a start exactly toward the same kind of result

Cruelty destroys innocence. Destroyed innocence in impressionable children breeds monsters!

This teacher is a human monster that has absolutely no business teaching kids anything!

A suburban Chicago resident who was offering up “slumber parties” in his basement for homeless people in his neighborhood during dangerously cold weather says city officials have given him an ultimatum. Conservative syndicated columnist George Will wrote this week that Vice President Mike Pence has “become America’s most repulsive public figure.” Why does Will think Pence deserves this absurd slur? Apparently, the columnist has found the vice president guilty of the heinous crime of being a decent man. Will announced in 2016 that he was leaving the Republican Party over the nomination of Donald Trump as the GOP’s presidential candidate. So it is no surprise that Will has become part of the so-called “resistance” to the duly elected president of the United States. He’s even become a contributor to NBC and its

Shortly after President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal last Tuesday, an adviser to a top Iranian official retaliated by dropping a bombshell threat. The threat concerned the president’s plan to reimpose sanctions on Iran: An adviser to H.J.Ansari Zarif, the deputy for parliamentary and Iranian affairs within Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically threatened to expose every corrupt official who accepted bribes to make the Iran deal happen three years ago. “If Europeans stop trading with Iran and don’t put pressure on US then we will reveal which western politicians and how much money they

Sen. Lindsey Graham blasted the ´terrible joke´ a White House aide told about cancer-stricken John McCain and said if his own aide made such an error he would apologize. Graham, who has traveled the globe with McCain and is one of his closest friends in the Senate, spoke after the White House refused to apologize for the crude remark and press secretary Sarah Sanders fumed about leaks rather than condemning the remark. Asked if he was satisfied with the White House response, Graham, a South Carolina Republican, responded: ´No, not really.´ He called Kelly Sadler´s reported joke about McCain´s opposition to Trump CIA

As death flutters around the back-yard deck of Senator John McCain, it’s sad to read reports that the scrappy Sandcutter regrets picking Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate and wishes he had instead picked Senator Jos. Lieberman. The only person diminished by this kind of talk is Senator McCain himself, and the heroic Arizonan deserves better. Not that we lack for love of Mr. Lieberman. The Sun was the first newspaper to sketch the rationale for Mr. McCain to bring in Mr. Lieberman as his running mate. That was in an enthusiastic editorial called “The Logic of Lieberman.”

A Nigerian passenger has filed a civil rights lawsuit alleging that United Airlines personnel ejected her and her children from an international flight departing from Houston in 2016 because of her “pungent” odor. The woman says in a federal discrimination suit filed in Houston Friday that she and her minor children were boarding a San Francisco bound plane — the second leg of a three-flight journey from Nigeria to Canada — when an incident occurred involving a white male passenger that escalated to her being asked by United staff to exit the plane. Washington - Among recent pilgrims to the Arizona ranch of Senator John McCain was Joe Biden. The Republican, who has an aggressive form of brain cancer, urged the former vice-president to “not walk away” from politics, Biden told the New York Times. It did not take much imagination to see this as a metaphorical shove – into the next race for the White House. Biden has the desire, the pedigree – and the rage. On Friday, incensed by reports that a White House aide had dismissed McCain with the terse comment “he’s dying anyway”, the 75-year-old Democrat let rip, declaring

Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, reacted to Mr. Trump’s announcement with a sharp statement. Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) filed legislation Wednesday that would significantly strengthen the power of organized labor. Sanders, along with senators Cory Booker (D., N.J.), Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.), among others, introduced the Workplace Democracy Act, which would make it easier for workers to unionize and enter into contractual negotiations with employers. The legislation comes at a time when the number of unionized workers in the American economy is at an all-time low. Fueled in part by the rise of globalization and technological advancement, labor membership has steadily declined from 20.1 percent in 1983 to 10.7 percent
