ICE spokesman resigns, citing
fabrications by agency chief, Attorney General
Sessions, about California immigrant arrests

Hartford Courant, by Meagan Flynn

The San Francisco spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has resigned over what he described as "false" and "misleading" statements made by top-ranking officials, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions and ICE Acting Director Thomas D. Homan. The now-former spokesman, James Schwab, told news outlets late Monday that his resignation stemmed from statements by Homan and Sessions that potentially hundreds of "criminal aliens" evaded ICE during a Northern California raid in February because Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned the immigrant community in advance. Schwab said he pushed back on that characterization - but said ICE instructed him to "deflect" questions

Buh, bye. Schwab was a paid spokesperson. He was probably not involved in the planning and execution of the enforcement action, so he has no first-hand basis to contradict his bosses. Say what we tell you, or leave. Good that he left.

And the Hartford Courant helpfully picks up this item. Any little thing the msm can do to promote its (false, and dangerously misleading) narrative about illegal aliens, it does.

Roseanne Barr and John Goodman appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the reboot of their classic sitcom Roseanne. Part of the hype of the show’s return is that Barr’s character Roseanne Conner is a Trump supporter and that different members of the family have different political beliefs. After discussing her brief stint in politics, Barr explained like in the show, there were some people in her family were pro-Hillary and others like herself who were pro-Trump and that there was “a lot of fighting.” “Weren’t you a friend, like a good friend, of Hillary Clinton‘s at one point?” Kimmel

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee are questioning the intelligence community´s judgment that Russia´s Vladimir Putin specifically tried to help Donald Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. That judgment "did not employ proper analytic tradecraft," committee Republicans charge in a new set of findings released Thursday. But the exact reasons for the committee´s skepticism remain secret, at least until a full report is released later. Here are the two brief references to Putin´s intention included in the newly-released findings: Finding #15: The majority of the Intelligence Community Assessment judgments on Russia´s election activities employed proper analytic

WASHINGTON — In the midst of a Cabinet shake-up and a possible staff upheaval, President Donald Trump considered firing his chief of staff this month and not naming a successor, according to three people familiar with the discussions. Trump has mused to close associates about running the West Wing as he did his business empire, essentially serving as his own chief of staff, these people said. In conversations with allies outside the White House, the president envisioned a scenario in which a handful of top aides would report directly to him — bypassing the traditional gatekeeper position. A veteran city firefighter was killed in a raging five-alarm fire on a Harlem film set Thursday night, the FDNY said. Firefighter Michael Davidson, 37, was the nozzle man, the first to brave the flames when his company, Engine 69, arrived at the scene on St. Nicholas Ave. at W. 149th St. at 10:50 p.m., Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said at Harlem Hospital early Friday. Davidson, a 15-year veteran, got separated from his fellow smoke eaters as they backed out of the fire in the building’s cellar, Nigro said. When firefighters found him, Davidson was unconscious. Washington -A former Playboy model who allegedly had a nine-month affair with President Donald Trump is suing the company that kept her original account from publication, The New York Times reported Tuesday. The Times said Karen McDougal is suing to be released from an agreement mandating her silence. The report would make McDougal the latest woman to take legal action over an agreement restricting her from speaking out about an alleged relationship with the President prior to his time in government. The White House has said Trump denies the affair. Shortly before the presidential election, the Wall Street Journal published a story saying

It may be too early to say exactly what happened at Great Mills High School in Maryland, where a gunman this morning wounded two students. It’s not too soon, though, to wonder whether this will emerge as a vindication of the National Rifle Association’s Wayne LaPierre, who coined the formulation that “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.” The early report, which we read in USA Today, is that the attacking student who opened fire at the high school in southern Maryland injured two students shortly before classes were

For months, President Trump’s legal advisers implored him to avoid so much as mentioning the name of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, in his tweets, and to do nothing to provoke him or suggest his investigation is not proper. Ignoring that advice over the weekend was the decision of a president who ultimately trusts only his own instincts, and now believes he has settled into the job enough to rely on them rather than the people who advise him. A dozen people close to Mr. Trump or the White House, including current and former aides and longtime friends, described him
