Gina Haspel nominated as CIA´s first

President Trump’s pick to head the CIA is a seasoned spymaster who has avoided the limelight during a 32-year career that has included stints running overseas “black sites” where dangerous terrorists were waterboarded. Gina Haspel, 61, must be confirmed by the Senate before she takes command of the spy agency from Mike Pompeo, who Trump nominated as Secretary of State after firing Rex Tillerson. (Tweet) While she has won praise from Washington insiders – including Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director Michael Hayden, she will likely face questions on the Hill about her connection to

As I knew they would, the Democrats have already started shrieking about the waterboarding, etc. that occurred under her watch. I really don´t care what they did to those murdering terrorists. I truly dread the confirmation hearing because the Democrats will behaving horrifically as they always do.

This looks like life imitating art. She´s the real life version of Carrie Mathison from Homeland. Both of them had to use questionable methods during their case officer days to achieve their intelligence objectives. I wonder how Claire Danes feels about this turn of events.

Waterboarding is NOT torture.

We have in past years, not sure if they still do it, waterboarded our Naval Aviators during their SERE school training, as part of the training exercise. I have spoken to one family member who had it done, and remembers that it was VERY, VERY unpleasant.

Waterboarding is NOT torture.

No matter how many times the leftists who want us to fail say it is, they only object because it is a non-torture method of interrogation that absolutely works while not harming the subject in the least, other than scaring the bejesus out of them on a primeval level.

She sounds like a realist and a harass. She´ll do fine. I imagine Pompeo recommended her as his replacement.

I´ll echo previous comments about waterboarding. I was discussing it last week with one of my brothers, a former military aviator who went to SERE school. He said "that´s not torture - that´s TRAINING!"

The House is poised to vote on a bipartisan $1.3 trillion omnibus as soon as Thursday, less than 24 hours after GOP leaders unveiled the massive spending package needed to avert a government shutdown this week. The legislative text of the bill, totaling 2,232 pages, was released Wednesday evening after lawmakers and the White House debated throughout the day over what the final bill would look like. Conservatives complained bitterly about the rushed schedule and lack of transparency, lamenting that GOP leadership gave rank-and-file members little time to read and study what’s in the bill. “This process looks really bad; it

YouTube is entering the gun control debate with a new ban on videos which demo firearms or link to websites selling firearms or firearm accessories. The move to ban firearm demos dovetails with the media platform’s desire to “prohibit videos with instructions on how to assemble firearms.” Ironically, guns built at home have not been part of the mass public attacks that have drawn national attention over the past months and years, but guns acquired at retail via background checks have been. Bloomberg reports that YouTube issued a statement in coordination with new prohibitions, saying, “We routinely make updates and

So when he says there was a plot to protect Hillary Clinton from prosecution and to illegally influence the 2016 Election people should pay attention. President Trump says he didn´t collude with Russia in 2016, promising something to a foreign country in exchange for his installation as president. That seems increasingly likely to prove true. Where they do not spring from simple malignancy, critics’ arguments that Trump used Russian intervention to win the election are mostly an excuse to avoid the plain truth that Hillary Clinton deservedly lost because she was an awful candidate. And the country is better for that result. We aren’t persuaded, either, that the Russians’ paltry $100,000 in Facebook spending had anything to do with Trump’s win, given that very little of it

Discussing cities is like talking about the knots in a net: they’re crucial, but they’re only one part of the larger story of the net and what it’s supposed to do. It makes little sense to talk about knots in isolation when it’s the net that matters. Cities are part of the system we’ve invented to keep people alive on Earth. People tend to like cities, and have been congregating in them ever since the invention of agriculture, 10,000 or so years ago. That’s why we call it civilisation. This origin story underlines how agriculture made cities possible, by providing

This made her the highest-paid anchor at NBC following Matt Lauer´s departure, but unfortunately, courting Kelly may not have been a smart investment.  Her first attempt at success, a Sunday night news magazine dubbed Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, debuted in June 2017 and soon proved to be a flop.
