Tillerson found out he was fired
when Trump tweeted about it

The State Department said that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was informed of his own firing by President Donald Trump´s Tuesday morning tweet announcing the news. The secretary said that he was "unaware of the reason" for his firing, which he said he did not discuss with President Donald Trump before Trump announced his ouster on Tuesday morning. "The Secretary had every intention of staying because of the critical progress made in national security," Under-Secretary of State Steve Goldstein said in a statement. If this is true, then President Donald J. Trump is a child. An even bigger child than I had suspected. He still thinks he´s running The Apprentice.

The chattering class can´t have it both ways. Just this AM they were saying everyone knew this was coming months ago, now it´s a surprise because it was just tweeted this morning. Ditto for the inanimate building known as The State Department.

I hope this part of the story isn´t true. Regardless, if Tillerson supports the Iran Agreement, obviously he isn´t the right man for the job. But Tillerson did rid the State Dept of the anti-American lefties on the Dept.´s 7th floor, a group so powerful (and who like most powerful lefties, used their positions to finance imperial lifestyles for themselves) that even presidents were afraid of them, and for that he is to be commended. He also abandoned the luxurious plane that the press had become accustomed to partying in as they accompanied previous SOS around the world (although their employers paid a smallish amount for the transport).

I am glad to see turnover in our government. It is long overdue. There are too many in the government that do not perform, but are kept on forever. Tillerson would take a century to walk around the block. Trump has 7 more years.

Two words from the actual statement were conveniently left out in this article but reported correctly at The Hill: "The Secretary did not speak to the President THIS MORNING . . ."

Just sayin´ . . .

Inferring that Tillerson did not know about his firing beforehand would be premature if all we have are media reports that leave out words and then deduce based on that omission.

Tillerson was not ´unaware of the reason´. To believe that embarrasses the believer. Idiots of that caliber rarely rise to his level at ExxonMobil.

LOL. I love to see the effete, weak kneed never Trumpers showing their outrage at an unsubstantiated breach of decorum. Never mind the fact that these stories have been proven false over and over, lets all pull out our smelling salts so as not to induce the vapors! I imagine Trump did this while eating his steak with the short fork vs the long fork. That is also a breach of etiquette.
There are many of us who do not care what fork he uses, and are enjoying the fruits of Trump´s policies. To those of you who are holding up your opera glasses in a scornful manner, all I can say is enjoy being left behind.

#26 - Tillerson did not fail. He was brought on board for his expertise and connections in the Middle East. That firestorm had to be brought under control first. ISIS has been defeated (not just "degraded") and there are no alliances forming the wider ME area. He accomplished the specific task President Trump needed from him.

Get used to shake ups of personnel in the Trump Admin. He brings in people for special purposes and then they move on. Trying to compare Trump´s admin to any other we have known before is guaranteed to cause unnecessary heartburn.

As Washington obsesses over alleged collusion involving the Russians and the current administration, a separate investigation in Little Rock looks into alleged corruption involving the previous administration and the Russians. “FBI agents are interviewing people,” Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney hired by the president on Monday, told The American Spectator over the weekend. “That is a big deal. One of the things that motivated my old friend Andrew Breitbart was his righteous indignation at being called a racist. That’s a running theme in his book, Righteous Indignation. “Andrew Breitbart despised racism,” his friend Ben Shapiro told me. “He took pride in rejecting racism and fighting it tooth and nail. He saw it as a form of bullying. Nothing devastated him more personally than being maligned as racist.” He would also advise conservatives not to be deterred if their opponents on the left unfairly called them racists — something he rightly believed happened all the time. There are two ways to guarantee you’ll lose a statewide election in Texas: campaign for abortion or campaign against guns. Texas Democrats accomplished the first in 2014, when Wendy Davis lost the governor’s race to Greg Abbott by 20 points. Now they’re determined to do the second. You’d think after Barack Obama and Mitt Romney got burned for coining these appellations, ambitious pols would learn not to talk about the opposing party’s voters that way. Both those comments were said before private audiences and leaked out. But Hillary did them better by offering her diagnosis of the “basket of deplorables” at a public campaign event. Democrats dream of turning Texas into a blue state, thereby cementing the far left’s hold on America for the foreseeable future. They hope to make progress toward that goal this year, and they were counting on a blue wave of enraged liberals to emerge in Tuesday’s primaries as a harbinger of victory in November. They even hope that their man Beto O’Rourke can drive Ted Cruz out of the Senate. But no such blue wave emerged on Tuesday. True, just over one million votes were cast in the Democratic Senate primary, which O’Rourke won with 62% of the vote. But well

Axios has just released a fascinating poll of the swing-state Senate races in this year’s midterm elections, and in several key contests, generic Republican candidates appear to have the edge over incumbent Democrats. The poll surveys voters’ attitudes toward incumbent Democratic senators up for reelection this cycle in the ten states that Donald Trump won in November 2016: Montana, West Virginia Missouri, Indiana, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. In half of these states, the GOP candidate leads the current Democratic senator, and, amazingly, in four out of five of those states, the Republican candidate goes unnamed, because no front-runner

President Trump says he didn´t collude with Russia in 2016, promising something to a foreign country in exchange for his installation as president. That seems increasingly likely to prove true. Where they do not spring from simple malignancy, critics’ arguments that Trump used Russian intervention to win the election are mostly an excuse to avoid the plain truth that Hillary Clinton deservedly lost because she was an awful candidate. And the country is better for that result. We aren’t persuaded, either, that the Russians’ paltry $100,000 in Facebook spending had anything to do with Trump’s win, given that very little of it

This made her the highest-paid anchor at NBC following Matt Lauer´s departure, but unfortunately, courting Kelly may not have been a smart investment.  Her first attempt at success, a Sunday night news magazine dubbed Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, debuted in June 2017 and soon proved to be a flop. Come September, the network moved her to a daily talk
