Student Kicked Out of Class for

A religious studies major was barred from Christianity class at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for saying during class that there are only two genders. Lake Ingle, a senior at the university, said he was silenced and punished by IUP Professor Alison Downie for questioning her during a Feb. 28 “Christianity 481: Self, Sin, and Salvation” lecture. After showing a 15-minute TED Talk by transgender ex-pastor Paula Stone Williams discussing the “reality” of “mansplaining,” “sexism from men,” and “male privilege,” the professor asked the women in the class to share their thoughts. When no women in the class said anything, Ingle spoke up,

Comments:
The student is correct except he is confused about what to call men and women -- different sexes, not genders.

Brave young man to stand up against intellectual bullying. I wouldn´t waste my time wanting to be a professor. No university would hire him. The liberal establishment has a lock on who gets hired. Only Hillsdale may be open.

There are only two genders. XX and XY. Don´t know of any YY or ABC out there. Until they can change the chromosomes of an individual, anything else is a lie. Rather you believe in evolution, God or intelligent design, it´s still only two. This student should sue.

This idiocy will until the offending teachers are disciplined. Firmly. Or the university is punished somehow, by litigation, loss of funding or something equivalent.
How this loon got and kept a job teaching at a university is incomprehensible.

Every time I read one of these reports, I thank God I went to university when I did, back when the faculty deighned to, well you know, teach their students how to think, how to reason, how to discern, and how to hold their own in cordial arguments. Nowadays "professors" like Frau Professor Doktor Allison Downie simply throw male students out of class. How much easier than engaging Mr. Ingle (and probably getting her clock cleaned)!

I hate to break it to today´s young ´uns, but most have been rolled by greedy academic poseurs in the "education" industry. They´ve been trained to complain and little more, they´re not qualified for any sort of work, and they´ve saddled themselves with debt loads that would make many small national treasuries shiver with fear.

So this idiot professor asked for comments from the women of the class but none spoke up. So this young man speaks up and gets thrown out of the class for speaking his mind.

Got it. Speaking the truth in class can get you thrown out.

That´s one way to censor and/or indoctrinate the students. You want to graduate? You WILL submit to the PC doctrine.

Anyhoo, I also wonder if the esteemed Professor would consider any act of disagreement to be in and of itself disrespectful or if only the manner in which expressing that disagreement could be defined as disrespectful.

IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) has been a "privy pit" for quite a long time. Disclosure: one of Dear Wife´s grandmothers went there when it was still called French Ecole Normale, a so-called "Normal school", and living in a "free love" commune, rutting with whomever struck her fancy. The rot is wide, deep, and of very long standing. Supported by the beleaguered taxpayers of Pennsylvania.

How long will it be, or are we now there, when relying upon the DNA results to define one´s sex, is deemed either a crime, or evidence of mental illness, and therefore grounds to be put on "no fly lists" and denied the right to own firearms? And certainly denied employment prospects by the SJW loons in the HR departments of many companies (ask me how I know).

If stating that there are only two genders upset the teacher, why do they call this a "christianity" class? According to the Word of God, the student was absolutely correct.

What do the so-called Wage Gap, White or Male Privilege, or gender dysphoria have to do with Christianity or religious studies? Lake should demand his money back and go elsewhere, where they have a clue what christianity is about. His professor is more concerned with "christian feminist theology" and "eco-feminist perspectives" than the Word of God. Can you believe she teaches Understanding the Bible?

One idiotic woman professor threw her weight around. The kid will win in the end if the past is any sort of guide for the future of IUP, and he wasn´t ranting in class.

This is another side of IUP. A frat brother killed in the DMZ in 1970 had a small plaque in the ROTC building on campus. Some friends, past grads, asked the college if we could create a tribute worthy of Jim Flannery´s Silver Star. IUP and the ROTC Commander gave us full co-operation. We made a 3´ x 6´ mural and display of Jim´s medals with letters of certification. ROTC remade the hall to honor past grads, which also had an area set aside for a tribute to Robert M Young who died as a POW in Vietnam.

No reviews, no committees to supervise. They trusted us. From proposal to unveiling was less than 2 years. There are other monuments to vets on campus as well as a tribute to another frat brother Greg Spinelli the youngest FBI agent killed in the line of duty confronting a bank robber.

I´ve met the current President of the University and he seems fair. He was certainly supportive of our efforts. So we will see.

I have to add, as an Art major 69-69, I definitely would have heard about a free love commune during the ´normal´ school years. Maybe that came later to Indiana, PA, like bell bottoms. On the other hand I was a lot busier finishing Art projects than the English majors so maybe there was a ´privy pit´ of loose women I missed. This was the period where there were no coed dorms. In fact you could be throw out of college for being in the wrong dorm or for missing curfew. Yeah, it was free love everywhere.

The question is where will the university system establish its gulags for those who stray from politically correct thought?

There are only two sexes.

Gender is just a linguistic device coopted by abnormal-sexuality activists who wish they could choose to be a member of the opposite sex. And some languages have three genders.

Book tours can be brutal. It took 20 years for Bill Clinton to be properly publicly shamed for the ugly bargain at the heart of the Clinton operation. As a politician, the former president was gifted. James Carville liked to say: “People are confused. They don’t know which one they like more, the peace or the prosperity.” Even Barack Obama, another talented pol, was forced to turn to his former nemesis to help sell his agenda for his second term, christening Bill the “Secretary of Explaining Stuff.” And if Hillary had listened to Bill’s urgent warnings about addressing the alienation of white men in flyover country in 2016, she’d be president.

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power.
