Nets Give Less than a Minute to House

On Monday, the House Intelligence Committee closed its inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, much to the chagrin of the liberal media. The committee confirmed that the Russians were indeed trying to cause chaos in the election, claimed they weren’t out to help candidate Donald Trump specifically and that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. But during their evening broadcasts, ABC and CBS downplayed the findings while NBC ignored them. CBS Evening News only gave 31 seconds to the House committee’s findings. “Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee said there was no collusion

This Russia Russia matter kept their collective panties in a wad for well over a year. Now, all the MSM can do is sigh and move on to the next scandal.

Years ago, journalism required reporting who, what, when, where, why, how. Like a well-rehearsed script, David Muir asks Jonathan Karl about the House Intelligence Committee finding no evidence of collusion and Karl’s response is a typical example of today’s “opinioniosts” who insert opinion into an alleged news report thereby shaping the news to fit their agenda and unwitting low information voters absorb it like sponges.

Example of today’s faux news (contaminated with opinion): FTA: “Karl appeared to be almost irritated by the committee’s findings: “THESE ARE THE REPUBLICANS THAT CONTROL THAT COMMITTEE.” “THE FINDING IS HARDLY SURPRISING,” he scoffed.

“AND GIVEN HOW PARTISAN THAT COMMITTEE IS, IT´S NOT GOING TO HAVE ANY IMPACT ON THE OVERALL DEBATE OVER RUSSIA.” He wrapped up the segment by holding out hope that the Senate and special counsel investigations would find something incriminating against the President.”

Example of real news report: “The House Intelligence Committee closed its inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. The committee confirmed that the Russians were trying to cause chaos in the election, claimed they were not out to help candidate DonaldTrump specifically and that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.”

I was a journalism major for two years in the early 70s. It was who, what, where and when. There was no why or how because that can be subject to opinion. Who, what, where, when - just the facts mam.

Changed my major to business and am happy I did!!

There won´t be a single dim in the country that will believe the committee´s memo. They will all will be saying something like "all of the republicans will do anything to support Trump". Or something to attempt to say the the republicans just won´t believe the "facts" that have been turned up. Most of them will go to their graves believing that Trump had Russia helping him to win the election. No matter who says no and not facts to show it. It´s just something that they wan´t that they want to believe in.

#4- Interesting that academia’s influence in the 1970s dismissed the traditional “Five Ws and How” by eliminating the “why” and how” that are considered basic in information or problem solving that has been followed by today’s journalists interjecting the “why” and “how” into news accounts as opinion and boldly declaring their news conveyance as factual.

Analytically, “why” and “how” are necessary for a report to be considered complete; “why” did it happen, “how” did it happen. Facts are not opinions.

I do hope that somebody runs on the Republican side other than the president — if nothing else than simply to remind Republicans what conservatism is and what Republicans have traditionally stood for.”

Chicago’s Memorial Day weekend got a brutal start with 23 people shot and four killed from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. And there are still two more days of the long holiday weekend to go. Officials hastened to note that the numbers for the first hours of the three-day holiday weekend are on par with last year’s bloodletting, Chicago’s WGN TV reported. But even as the statistics seem familiar, the carnage is happening amidst a major police offensive with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) sending 1,000 officers into the streets to tamp down the violence. At least two professional baseball teams wooed Donald Trump when he was a young first baseman at the New York Military Academy, according to a new book. In the new “The Presidents and the Pastime,” noted sports author Curt Smith writes that both the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox tried to grab Trump before going to college. Each time he said no, or as Smith wrote, “He chose ‘real money’ over baseball money.” Turns out that Trump was the epitome of a baller in the old sense of the word — a scrappy fighter who honed his skill. “Trump

Robert Mueller´s investigation into whether President Donald Trump and the Russians colluded to rig the 2016 presidential election so far has borne little fruit. The Democrats and their media allies would love to find some Russian collusion and interference. I can help them discover some, but I doubt that they will show much interest. Here it goes. For years, Russia has been the world´s largest oil producer. Within recent times, the U.S. has edged Russia out of the No. 1 spot. Much of the increased U.S. production is attributable to hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in the shale formations in Texas

Until 1968, Walter Cronkite believed what his government told him about the Vietnam War. He was an old-school journalist, a patriot, a man who came of age covering World War II as a wire-service reporter and then taking over as the anchor of “The CBS Evening News” at the height of the Cold War. Like most journalists of his generation, he embraced the fight against communism and understood why the United States had intervened in the war raging in Vietnam. I will venture a prediction: by the end of President Trump’s first term, it will be obvious that Hillary Clinton’s health would not have permitted her to serve effectively as president, had she won the 2016 election. Hillary falls down and faints. She needs help going up and down stairs. There are persistent rumors that she drinks too much. During the campaign, there were many days when Hillary was AWOL. Her schedule was weirdly light for someone running for the presidency. Many have commented on the fact that Hillary never went to Wisconsin, but the more basic fact is that there were lots of days when she didn’t go anywhere.
