Whole Foods calls meeting
with vendors as tensions flare

CNBC, by Lauren Hirsch

Tensions between Whole Foods Market and some of the most important brands it sells in its stores will come to a head on March 19, when they will congregate for a recently announced summit, sources familiar with the situation tell CNBC. The grocer notified certain vendors about the meeting by email last Saturday. It is set to reassure the brands of relations after Whole Foods´ sale to Amazon. It comes after a rocky few months for the grocer, which has been trying to shift from a local orientation to a national one, without sacrificing the selection and relations that set

Amazon has been an epic failure in this take-over. Quality loss is evident every day in any of the 3 stores we have locally. My guy who knew my supplements and suppliers - tweaked to a thread - is now gone. I have to order from originating manufacturer. Not buying via Amazon either.

Stores a mess. Buffet foods - be wary. Don´t think they´re testing for temps as often as before. Particularly breakfast buffet.

Not a Whole Paycheck shopper - go for specific items and some particular foods. If they keep changing staff as they quit and replace with idiots - not going back. I kept my supplement bottles - will order direct. Their loss.

Just a horrid business decision by Bezos. Cultures do not fit. John Mackey wanted out for some reason, and the sale did not fit his original vision for the company. To sell to close to devil himself, there had to be many internal reasons.

I wish the mighty Az would meet with its vendors, a lot of whom seem to be selling merchandise that is not authentic. They´re becoming the new ebay.

The great thing about suckers is that they don´t run away when being fleeced.
Whole Foods made that their business model, and Bezos loved it.
He has most of these vendors by the balls. The gullible have already congregated around Whole Foods, so there is really no other market for most of them.
So they will pay to play.

Even before they sold, they were a regular on the FDA recall list for things like Listeria.
No intentions of shopping there.

Been in a Whole Foods twice. I actually was kind of creeped out by it. No customers. My friend and I were in there for almost a half hour the first visit looking things over, 100 am on a Wed. And no one else entered that store. The first thing i noted was a bad odor- not sure what it was, but it was a kind of odd earthy/moldy smell. The two middle age women clerks kept smiling and waving at us. I bought a pound of Irish oats and a jar of honey. I eventually threw the honey out because it tasted awful and still have the oats- never opened them- not yet, anyway. Second visit was to buy some oregano toothpaste (I know- dumb- but read it was supposed to be good for your teeth- YuK!). Have not been back in about 18 months.

The grocery business is a different world than general merchandise. I would guess that the necessity of air transport instead of UPS or FedEx is killing Bezos. Maybe he should ask WalMart for help.

I´ve noticed that Amazon will be keeping Whole Foods "Core Values." What are those "Core Values?" Maybe those values include high prices, pretentious attitude, and screwing over their vendors.

Anytime a corporation uses the phrase "Core Values" you can be sure that it´s just a form of virtue signaling while implementing another evil plan.

In a symbolic milestone, Sears will soon close its last store in Chicago — the city the iconic retailer has called home or been closely connected to for 120 years. The store, at 4730 W. Irving Park Road, will go out of business in mid-July with the liquidation sale of its merchandise starting on April 27. The Chicago storefront is part of a batch of 265 Sears and Kmart locations that were purchased by the real estate investment trust Seritage Growth Properties in 2015, then leased back by the retailer. In a state consumed by conservation and environmental issues, one highly endangered species has long gone unnoticed and unprotected – the California Conservative. The White Sox (3-6) and the Rays (2-8) aren´t exactly must-see attractions this season. That is very clear by the number of people who showed up to watch the two teams play Monday. Among its other consequences, Speaker Paul Ryan´s retirement from the House increases the chance that President Donald Trump will be impeached. Ryan´s decision accelerates the ongoing competition among his deputies to become the leader of the GOP in the House. But it will also dispirit fellow Republicans, diminish his ability to raise campaign funds and encourage more vulnerable incumbents to retire. All of that smooths the path for Democrats to recapture the House in November and hand Nancy Pelosi the speaker´s gavel once again. And there´s little doubt that a Democratic-controlled House would seek to impeach the president. That´s not
