AUSTIN, Texas — Arnold Schwarzenegger’s next mission: taking oil companies to court “for knowingly killing people all over the world.” The former California governor and global environmental activist announced the move Sunday at a live recording of POLITICO’s Off Message podcast here at the SXSW festival, revealing that he’s in talks with several private law firms and preparing a public push around the effort. “This is no different from the smoking issue. The tobacco industry knew for years and years and years and decades, that smoking would kill people, would harm people and create cancer, and were hiding that fact from the

And if you have ever met him in person, he is a LITTLE man. Puffed up on steroids, but short and little.

And his brain is obviously diminutive as well.

How, exactly, are oil companies killing people? By providing them with energy so that they don´t freeze to death in the winter? Providing electricity so they don´t die of heat exhaustion in the summer? In cities, before the automobile, horse manure was everywhere and the particles would fill the air when dried out.

We used to hunt whales to use their oil in lamps. Before oil heaters we had coal. Before that it was all wood. What would arnie have us do, snuggle up to a solar panel or windmill in the winter, when there is no wind or sunlight?

Arnold was the second worst governor CA has ever had, the #1 is back again currently.
He governed to the right (barely) of the young Jerry Brown, but to the left of the older. current Jerry Brown.
He also was instrumental in getting Brown installed in violation of the Constitution of the state.
He duped the CA GOP into believing he was a Republican but he worked only with the Democrats while in office.

What a useless buffoon.

OIL saves lives!! We have petroleum/fossil fuels so no longer must cut down trees to stay warm and even the poorest of homes can be warm in winter thus saving many from freezing and suffering from illness. We use oil for almost all transport, train, ship, truck, jet. We use oil for many kinds of medication. We use oil for making plastics used to make products safer and more portable. Oil has saved billions of lives in one way or another and who knows how many natural places once ravaged in pursuit of scarce natural resources are now pristine because we no longer need near as much of these "natural" products... all due to oil.

But maybe a successor of sorts has been found in Duke University economist Timur Kuran, who has a long article forthcoming in the Journal of Economic Literature that paints a pretty bleak picture of the economic and social structure of Islamic nations. Just check out the abstract of the article, which is bland in language but harsh in its conclusions: Islam and Economic Performance: Historical and Contemporary Links Timur Kuran Abstract. Hillary Clinton couldn’t resist referring again to her historic defeat while addressing the graduates at Yale last week. This brought to mind her remarks at a speaking event in India in March, which can still rankle. At that time, she declaimed that Trump’s “whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards,” and added for clarification: “You know, you didn’t like black people getting rights; you don’t like women, you know, getting jobs; you don’t want to, you know, see that Indian-American succeeding more than you are—you know, whatever your problem is, I’m gonna solve it.” In this assignation of bigotry to,

A Leon County circuit court judge ruled Friday afternoon that the state´s ban on smoking medical marijuana is unconstitutional, setting up continued legal fights as the state appeals the decision. In a 22-page order, Judge Karen Gievers said that the Legislature´s ban on smoking medical cannabis conflicted with the intent of a constitutional amendment that had broadly legalized the drug for medical use after voters approved it in 2016. She concurred with arguments made last Wednesday in a one-day trial by Jon Mills, an attorney for the plaintiffs, contending the definition approved by voters included "all types of medical marijuana," including smokeable

I will venture a prediction: by the end of President Trump’s first term, it will be obvious that Hillary Clinton’s health would not have permitted her to serve effectively as president, had she won the 2016 election. Hillary falls down and faints. She needs help going up and down stairs. There are persistent rumors that she drinks too much. During the campaign, there were many days when Hillary was AWOL. Her schedule was weirdly light for someone running for the presidency. Many have commented on the fact that Hillary never went to Wisconsin, but the more basic fact is that there were lots of days when she didn’t go anywhere.

Like most journalists of his generation, he embraced the fight against communism and understood why the United States had intervened in the war raging in Vietnam.
