Elizabeth Warren’s story of
racist grandparents disputed
by Cherokee genealogist

Washington Times, by Valerie Richardson

Sen. Elizabeth Warren sought Sunday to bolster her shaky claims of Cherokee ancestry with the story of how her racist grandparents drove her parents to elope. But Cherokee genealogist Twila Barnes says that account has its own credibility issues. Ms. Barnes, who said her research into Ms. Warren’s family found “no evidence” of Native American ancestry, has challenged key elements of the senator’s tale of how her parents, Pauline Reed and Donald Herring, defied his parents by running off to marry. “The problem with Warren’s story is that none of the evidence supports it,” said Ms. Barnes in a 2016

Family oral history sometimes is faulty.
Prior to my Ancestry submission, I believed that my maternal grandfather was Jewish. (My maternal grandmother worked as a maid for a Jewish family in Syracuse, NY, when she arrived from Poland. She even spoke Yiddish.
My DNA told another story. I am 97% Polish, 3 % Finnish. No European Jewish DNA.
So even if Warren believed her family story, she should be honest now.

Similar to #1, our family lore has not stood the test of time now that data sources have improved. In our case, the claim was that we were related to a signer of the Declaration of the Independence on my maternal grandmother´s side. The name was the same and there was geographic proximity. But I´ve researched and researched the trail - both back in time from my great-grandmother and forward in time from the signer, but the evidence does not support it. We were so proud of the link and loved sharing it, but once we discovered it really wasn´t true, we stopped claiming it. It was an innocent error on our part - and likely Warren´s -- but like nearly everything, the problem comes not so much from the mistake/transgression, but from the cover-up.

Twila Barnes has been on Elizabeth Warren´s case for some years now, and her genealogy blog, specifically her Warren posts, is certainly worth a look and a bookmark. Ms Barnes has to date done 79 posts on Warren, the bible of research for anyone interested in Warren´s fabrications and Barnes´ demolishment of them. Her blog is pollysgranddaughter.com.

The best one can say, after reading this article, is that Warren and her family seem adept at embellishing their life stories. No evidence at all that they are Cherokee, but they certainly could pass the test for carrying the Tall Tale gene.

Incidentally, a day ago we were hearing Warren dismissing any thought she wants to run for president. Today she is refusing to commit to staying for a full six-year Senate term if she is reelected in November. More prevarication. Or, to put it another way, Warren is just a lying liar -- she can´t stop herself!!

Was not Elizabeth Warren hired as a Harvard law professor to occupy a faculty position for a minority? It seems to me that is a crucial element of her storyline. Like many other politicians who embellish the truth -Sr. Blumenthal of CT´s supposed Vietnam service comes to mind- she has been caught in a big fat lie and now cannot back away from it so she resorts to all this malarkey about the family always believing the native American origin. Elizabeth Warren is nothing more than a lying politician who will do anything, say anything to get elected and maintain her seat. Coming from Massachusetts she is in the finest tradition of the entire Kennedy clan. Viva Massachusetts! You elected her now live with it.

She is a conscious LIAR. She profited by the LIE, big time. This is not some silly family folk tale, this is intentional FRAUD. You know, a crime, if she wasn´t a liberal democrat.

She got away with the LIE for so long and was protected by a sympathetic media for so long that she thought it was settled science as the left likes to say when they try and distance themselves from a LIE. Now she is squirming and hoping it goes away. She took a good run at the big mouthed offense and in earlier times in this old liar´s life, it might have worked, but it is sticking to her. Every time she goes on another rant, people point out the LIE and how she made a lot of money from it.

Maybe the fraud is too old for prosecution, although if ´black lives matter´ shouldn´t someone be outraged that this LIAR took a nice, fat, paycheck from a more or less deserving minority? At any rate this idiot is starting to get late justice and if it puts her in the dust bin with Dan Rather and other scheming liars, great.

The former Secretary of State injured her right hand on Tuesday, after slipping in a bathtub at the palace where she was staying in Jodhpur.
