The Left’s Fake Anti-Semitism
and its Real Anti-Semitism

After weeks of outrage at the close ties between top Democrats and Louis Farrakhan, the leader of an anti-Semitic hate group, the media finally condemned anti-Semitism by a top political official. President Trump and OMB Director Mick Mulvaney had referred to outgoing NEC Director Gary Cohn as a “globalist.” And “globalist,” according to Think Progress, the Huffington Post, Salon and Vox, is an “anti-Semitic slur.” Those are the same media outlets that had no problem using “globalist” as a slur when targeting Trump. HuffPo had published a piece tarring him as “Trump: The Globalist Plutocrat” and Vox had described Trump going

Now we have seditious congresscritters openly associating with the odious Farrakhan and Nation of Islam (Obama secretly associated with them), and there´s barely a mention of it anywhere except in the nearly insignificant "conservative" media.

´Believe All Women´ at Your Peril

We´ve heard it all before: "start by believing." "Believe survivors." At a recent panel discussion at the Ottawa City Hall, where my wife, Janice Fiamengo, was one of three featured participants, the subject of #MeToo and "Believe All Women" came up during the Q&A. (See 1:35:34 to 1:38:27 of the embedded YouTube video below.) An audience member claimed that it behooved us in most cases to give credence to women bringing forth their stories of sexual abuse. The young woman was skeptical of the court process as a way of resolving issues of sexual violence in women´s favor and contended

Tiger Woods finishes runnerup at Valspar

PALM HARBOR — Paul Casey closed with 6-under 65 and won the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook after watching Tiger Woods come up one putt short of a playoff. A highly charged PGA Tour event ended with one player ending a long victory drought – just not the one most fans came to see. Casey ran off three straight birdies early on the back nine to take the lead, and he closed with tough pars to finish at 10-under 274, one shot better than Woods and Patrick Reed. No one caught him, giving Casey his first PGA Tour victory since the 2009 Houston Open. Woods charged up the record crowd with a birdie putt from just inside 45 feet

With the first gun control measure signed into law in decades, a key Republican member of the Florida Constitutional Revision Commission has drafted a proposal to make sure the age limits and waiting period stand up to any constitutional challenge from opponents. The proposal, by Miami attorney and CRC member Roberto Martinez, was filed with the CRC on Friday, just moments after Gov. Rick Scott signed SB 7026 into law, which bans the sale of any firearm in Florida to anyone over the age of 21, imposes a three-day waiting period on all handgun purchases and bans bump stocks. PALM HARBOR — Here´s how you know Tiger Woods is back: The fist pump. The patented Tiger fist pump made its first appearance at the Valspar Championship on Saturday. It wasn´t the full-fledged, right-uppercut-while-screaming, just-took-the-lead-at-the-U.S. Open fist pump. But, make no mistake, it was a fist pump, followed by a broad smile and a tip of the cap to an Innisbrook crowd that was going downright bonkers. At that moment, even Tiger got caught up in the emotion of what is turning out to be an incredible week. For him. For us. For golf. On a make-or-break Saturday, Woods made the most of it

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. – Political consultant Mary Matalin praised President Trump as “a great overall president,” calling his job performance “stunning” and adding that she can “die happy now.” In 2016, Matalin left the Republican Party and registered as a Libertarian but the pundit told PJM she “can’t leave the party because it’s Hotel California.” “I always thought, as Reagan did, that libertarianism was central to conservatism. I have the same philosophy and I support the same policies. I just thought, at the time, it had nothing to do with Trump, whom I think is doing a great job. It’s just that

Jane Mayer’s 15,000-word New Yorker profile of Christopher Steele is a sort of mash note to the man Mayer views as an intergalactic hero. One doesn’t need to be a sophisticated reader to see that she has fallen for the guy big time or that she reveals herself to be an unreliable narrator. For reasons I suggested yesterday in part 3, I think Steele made himself a willing dupe of Russian disinformation. I think it highly unlikely that the Steele Dossier constitutes good intelligence on Vladimir Putin’s intentions, operations, and the related matters taken up in the dossier. One would have

WASHINGTON -- Florida Republicans are urging President Trump to not recognize the next strongman in Cuba as legitimate after Raul Castro steps down on April 19. Castro, 86, announced in December that he would resign due to health issues. He first became acting president in 2006 when his brother Fidel was ailing. National Assembly of People´s Power elections will be held this Sunday, and those lawmakers will pick the next president of Cuba. In a letter to Trump today, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla. and Reps. Early on in a life spent studying the art of storytelling, I came upon an interesting example of narrative power. In his encyclopedic study of mythology, The Masks of God, Joseph Campbell quotes an essay by German ethnologist Leo Frobenius. Frobenius tells of a little girl who plays with three matchsticks, pretending they are Hansel, Gretel and the witch. After a time, she lets out a shriek of terror. When her father asks her what´s the matter, she replies, "Daddy! Daddy! Take the witch away!" In her imagination, the matchstick has become the witch she pretended it was. Something similar has

Several decades´ worth of American presidents and secretaries of state have failed miserably in North Korea. Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright made particular fools of themselves. George W. Bush didn´t do much better at denuclearizing the hermit kingdom. Now it´s Donald Trump´s turn. Can that uncouth vulgarian actually succeed? Well, yes. Who else? Only someone who is a credible threat can deal with tyrants, can get them to cooperate. It´s always been that way. Nixon could go to China. Reagan tore down that wall. Barack Obama, another complete failure with the North Koreans, was an even bigger patsy for Iran´s mullahs, ceding them millions

The judge warned Timothy Weiner to stop complaining about his ex-wife on Facebook. "Neither parent," Pasco Circuit judge Lauralee Westine wrote in her order after the September hearing, "shall disparage or threaten the other parent on social media." But a week later, a photo of his ex-wife surfaced on a father’s rights Facebook page called "Mothers who abuse kids." Weiner hit the "like" button. That was enough for Westine to send Weiner, of New Port Richey, to the county jail for criminal contempt. The case illustrates how the ubiquitous use of social media is impacting the courts system in Florida and beyond. "This is a

WASHINGTON — Twitter loves lies. A new study finds that false information on the social media network travels six times faster than the truth and reaches far more people. And you can’t blame bots; it’s us, say the authors of the largest study of online misinformation. Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology looked at more than 126,000 stories tweeted millions of times between 2006 and the end of 2016 — before Donald Trump took office but during the combative presidential campaign. They found that “fake news” sped through Twitter “farther, faster, deeper and more broadly than the truth in all categories

Fox News is in sleazy Watters yet again. The network’s prominent host Jesse Watters — who dined on Monday with President Trump — is in the midst of divorce due to an affair with a 25-year-old associate producer. Watters’ wife, Noelle Watters, filed for divorce in October. The couple has twin girls. Sources said the 39-year-old host informed the network of his adulterous relationship with Emma DiGiovine shortly after Noelle filed divorce papers. DiGiovine was transferred to “The Ingraham Angle.” DiGiovine and Watters are still dating, sources said. A woman at DiGiovine’s home in Cranford, N.J., declined to comment.

The Democrats are trying to make something out of Donald Trump’s alleged dalliance, twelve years ago, with porn performer Stormy Daniels. I wrote about it here. Frankly, I don’t think anyone cares. But the story is interesting because it raises questions about what, in our era, constitutes a scandal. Trump’s long-ago romps with Daniels–assuming the stories are true–don’t qualify. There is one person, of course, who has a right to be outraged and probably is, but Melania doesn’t work for the Washington Post or the New York Times, and what she makes of the story is none of our business. So Barack Obama is in talks with Netflix, The New York Times reports, “to produce a series of high-profile shows that will provide him a global platform after his departure” from relevance last year. High profile? Global platform? Uh, won’t the ratings determine whether this is really high-profile TV, or just another big payday Obama didn’t come near earning on his own merits, like every other damn thing that’s been handed to him throughout his pampered, indolent life?
