Amulets, White Noise, and Trump Reality
American Thinker, by Clarice Feldman

The left (I refuse to call regressives "progressives") is finding it hard to deal with a reality in which the markets are up, unemployment is down, household income is rising, ISIS is being crushed, and Kim Jong-un is being lassoed. Former NYT editor Jill Abramson probably reflects the paper´s Upper West Side of Manhattan when she reveals she carries as an amulet (against the reality of a Trump presidency) – a little Obama doll in her purse – to comfort herself. "It´s easy to look at what´s happening in Washington, DC, and despair. That´s why I carry a little plastic Obama

FTA~
"It got worse when the Obama administration started spying on its domestic opponents during the Iran deal, when the Obama administration learned how far it could go in manipulating the foreign-intelligence surveillance apparatus for domestic political advantage. As Adam Entous, then of The Wall Street Journal, wrote in a December 2015 article, ´the National Security Agency´s targeting of Israeli leaders and officials also swept up the contents of some of their private conversations with U.S. lawmakers and American-Jewish groups.´

I suspect that some evidence now in the hands of the I.G. and Sessions´s appointed attorney has come from a friendly intel service (no – not the U.K., of course) that has the goods on Iranian collusion and is more than willing to share it."

As usual, Clarice´s weekly round-up and insightful summary comments and quotes for the major stories we should be following. My favorite remains the bizarre but very revealing tidbit about Jill Abramson and her Obama doll. In effect, it reveals that for leftists, since they have no real religion or belief in God, Obama is like an amulet or dashboard Jesus, always there to ward off any and all evil conservative spirits. Amazing. You simply cannot make this stuff up.

FTA:

It´s certainly likely that such familiar names to us as "Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, James Baker, Bill Priestap, Bruce Ohr and likely Nellie Ohr, have cut some kind of deal with the outside prosecutor for process leniency in exchange for cooperation with the IG and DOJ prosecutor," says my friend Rattler Gator. And I find that most probable.

Sundance also believes this and has written about it… Believes they have been working with that “outside investigator”, away from the leaking committees. Covering their own backsides; spilling their guts in return for “process leniency”. Most know that refers to the “process crimes” that Mueller has brandished. Sundance goes on to explain that that is why we haven’t seen them hauled before the committee hearings. Interviewed on the 24 hour news broadcasts. Telling their stories underground.

One day a man variously described as a cultivated Jew from the tribe of Dan, possibly in a time when the borders of Israel have been expanded to the Euphrates, possibly missing an eye, silky smooth in speech, strategem, and science, a back-bencher who ingratiated himself to the front of world power, will be asked to lead the world out of the chaos he has caused. And he will, if they will confirm their loyalty by tattooing their hand or forehead, maybe with a form of the 6-sided Jewish star around a Nazi cross, and they will, gladly, even knowing this will send them to hell. Of course, one of the lamer explications is that that gifted man is here now claiming his bona fides by ripping America apart almost telepathically. He knows his friends by their tattoos. Which they wear on their tongues.

A recent Justice Department report on U.S. immigration courts provides a rare glimpse into the difficulties faced by the Trump administration as it repairs the damages inflicted on these tribunals over the last 20 years. But give credit to the courts’ new executive, James McHenry. Early on, he identified the need for transparency and has made accurate disclosure of court business one of his agency’s highest priorities. Candor, if not reform, demands no less. It’s a good start for an executive whose predecessors often avoided—and sometimes denied—the truth about the courts’ troubling dynamics. Yet the courts limped along, their annual reports

This is his (fantastic) report along with photos he took at the event (at the top and bottom below): When I arrived at 4:00 p.m., the line for admission was at least a half mile long. People had been lining up since before 10:00 a.m., with the line snaking through a glass skyway where the afternoon sun had raised the temperature to over 100. Yesterday on Face the Nation, I responded to questions about the migrant separations from their children under the Trump Administration’s policy announced last month by trying to shift the focus to what drives these migrations in the first place – something that can’t be addressed by a simple band-aid piece of legislation paving the way for more lax border requirements. “Are you an American or not?” It’s a simple question, one that every U.S. census should include, especially when the survey already contains nonsensical and intrusive inquiries into one’s ethnic DNA composition and whether one co-habits with someone of the opposite sex or one’s own. Whether you are a citizen or not is a valid question in a civic-minded constitutional democracy. Whether your parents are ethnic Chinese born in Peru or you are a nonpracticing heterosexual, not so much. Over the last century, the world has witnessed the slow but steady depoliticization of America and Western Europe in favor of the rule of the apolitical “expert.” The great challenge of our era is to foster the return of actual political life between the people and their elected officials. President Trump’s summit with Kim Jong-un successfully served this purpose. One must jettison the abstractions of modern intellectuals in order to make politics possible again. The leadership of the Miss America beauty pageant announced this week it would eliminate the historic “bathing beauty” or swimsuit portion of the competition. Those statements were made as if they were obviously related; that there is no real difference between being judged on one’s appearance, and being judged on one’s nearly-naked appearance. It’s rather sad, that those notions would be so blithely conflated; sad, and in its own way, as revealing as a skimpy bikini. If you can’t find a middle ground between
