Mueller tight-lipped as media
leaks shape Russia narrative

Politico, by Darren Samuelson

Special counsel Robert Mueller and his prosecutors aren’t talking to the media, but still the leaks keep coming. In the past two weeks, anonymously sourced news reports have said the top federal Russia investigator is preparing to indict Russians for hacking Democratic emails in 2016; focusing on why one of President Donald Trump’s longtime lawyers was in talks about a Moscow real estate deal during the campaign; asking questions about Trump son-in-law, Jared Kushner’s business dealings; and probing whether the United Arab Emirates improperly sought to influence Trump White House policy.

There seems to be two things Mueller doesn´t want to investigate. The Russia narrative and Hillary´s and the DNC´s participation in the fabrication of the scheme.

Mueller can´t investigate Hillary as he is tied too closely with her. I suspect that Mueller´s got some serious leakers in his circle, and I also suspect that people associated with this investigation can see that there is no *there* there.

What should be making congress and the media unhappy is how willing Mueller seems to be to involve nations in the ME in his witch hunt. This to me is a legit political embarrassment to be concerned with.

This whole special prosecutor thing is a waste of resources. Our resources should be put into cybersecurity and an offensive capability. We are going to get nothing but more debt and political division from investing in lawyers, instead of technology and cybersecurity.

What do Republicans suspect really happened

Washington Examiner, by Byron York    Original Article

The struggle to uncover the FBI´s conduct in the Trump-Russia probe has made some congressional investigators deeply suspicious of the bureau. But what do those investigators think the FBI actually did in its investigation of the Trump campaign, Russia, and the 2016 election? First, they´re convinced the FBI has something to hide. In the last 12 months, the bureau has, at various times, ignored, slow-walked, resisted, and downright stonewalled congressional requests, not to mention subpoenas, for information on the Trump-Russia investigation. Each time the bureau hunkered down, suspicion grew on Capitol Hill. The FBI seemed particularly reluctant to reveal to Congress not

The New York Daily News has stealth-edited a column originally telling Hispanic conservative commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle that “she’d be better off picking grapes” than dating Donald Trump Jr. That line has now been changed to “she’d probably have better odds picking lotto numbers,” without any note from an editor. An Internet Archive page shows the change as well. Linda Stasi, the author behind the piece titled “Fox should fire reporter Kimberly Guilfoyle, who can’t possibly stay neutral while dating a Trump kid,” also mistakenly refers to Guilfoyle as a reporter rather than an opinion journalist.

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood gathered at the 72nd Tony Awards on Sunday night to join actor Robert De Niro in trashing President Donald Trump. Among the A-List celebrities who goaded De Niro on with an enthusiastic standing ovation for his “F**k Trump” tirade were John Leguizamo, Harry Hadden Paton, and Rebecca Night. Actor Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame took to Twitter, praising Dirty Grandpa for giving “people what they want” and suggesting he earned his standing ovation by being a “crowd pleaser.” Kathy Griffin soon joined in, declaring herself a member of the “F**k Trump Club.”

A United States amendment to a Palestinian-backed draft resolution at the U.N. General Assembly that would have condemned the terrorist group Hamas was defeated even before getting a vote Wednesday afternoon because of a procedural maneuver by Algeria, one of the sponsors of the Palestinian draft resolution. U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley, before the voting, said that the attempt to obstruct the vote was “shameful.” The U.S. amendment would have been added onto a Palestinian-backed draft resolution that, in part, called for consideration of an international protection force for Palestinian civilians without any condemnation

President Trump declared Wednesday that there is “no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea” as he returned to Washington, offering a rosy assessment of a summit with the leader of a nation that still possesses nuclear weapons. “Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea,” the president said on Twitter. In a separate tweet, he said that North Korea is no longer the United States’ most dangerous problem, as President Barack Obama had characterized it upon leaving office.

On North Korea, a president who

Reaction to President Trump´s summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has broken down along the usual Trump-anti-Trump divisions. The truth is, it will take a while before it´s clear whether the summit achieved anything or not. But give the president credit for trying a new approach to an intractable problem. Trump had no electoral mandate on North Korea. Despite the oversized role it has played in his presidency, the issue of Kim did not come up much in the 2016 campaign. It was rarely discussed in the GOP primary debates and wasn´t a factor in the Trump-Clinton general election debates.

Donald Trump said Tuesday that part of his hard sell to Kim Jong-un about giving up his nuclear weapons was a video that showed the benefits of shaking off the chains of near-global economic sanctions – including the possibility of developing his country´s beaches. ´They have great beaches! You see that whenever they´re exploding the cannons into the ocean, right?´ Trump said after he played the dramatic, Hollywood-produced four minute video for the press corps. ´So I said, "Boy, look at that beach. Wouldn´t that make a great condo behind" – and I explained it,´ the real estate billionaire recalled.

The piece, titled "The Terrible Arguments Against the Constitutionality of the Mueller Investigation," takes aim at President Trump´s recent Twitter attacks on the probe, in which the president argues the investigation is unconstitutional. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power.
