Trump quietly asked John Kelly for help to
oust Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner: Report

Washington Examiner [DC], by Diana Stancy Correll

President Trump is quietly angling to have his daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, removed from their roles at the White House, according to a report Thursday. Trump has grown frustrated with Kushner as he deals with lingering issues related to his business ties, sources told the New York Times. Although Trump has advised his daughter and son-in-law to keep their administration positions, he has privately asked White House chief of staff John Kelly for assistance in ousting them from the White House. Kushner has come under fire this week after a report was published that his family

The lead editorial in Friday´s Wall Street Journal urged the Kushners to evaluate their value to the President as opposed to a drag on his administration. The President understands.

I knew they were going to be trouble. They are the ever-so-lovely albatrosses around the neck of this administration and the sooner he can get them back to NY, which they never should´ve left to begin with, the better.

They are urban leftists, soggy variety. I´d rather they stay back home. Nothing against them but they aren´t helping the president´s popularity the way his judicial appointments and tax cuts have.

Trump asks Kelly for help in ousting them in a private meeting and we read about the "private" meeting in the Washington Examiner. How does that happen and is this just more fake news?

Nobody seems to get it. President Trump has an inside team and an outside team, and periodically moves folks from one to the other, as circumstances dictate, and as staffers approach burnout. Frankly, Ivanka and Jared would be more useful to President Trump as part of the outside team. They are not going to cease to be First Family, he certainly won´t disown them.

However, the Trump enterprises could certainly use the stabilizing hand of the First Daughter, and husband Jared is a very good businessman and writer. Take them off government salary, which is low anyways, and have them run interference for President Trump from the outside, and keep the Trump businesses hopping.

In the meantime, Hope Hicks, originally brought into the Trump operations as an employee for Ivanka, would return to that role.

President Trump is certainly doing misdirection and uses Drama to mask his intentions and advance his interests. It´s what he does.

We are all tuned into The Apprentice: National Edition. Stay tuned for further developments. Expect the series to run for 8 full seasons, with the possibility of eight more years of the spin-off, President Pence & Friends. Then, look for the pilot episode of President Ivanka Kushner & the First Dude.

How exactly did Ms. Correll get this information from a "private" conversation Trump is said to have had with Kelly? Hmmmm. That said, I´m all for Ivanka and Jared going back to NY and their own business dealings. It never has looked good for Trump to have them in his Administration. Jared has caused him more Headaches than he´s helped.

Seems as if there is so much time and energy spent attacking the current potus and his family. Don´t we have more important things to tackle in this country?

Perhaps the turning on important campaign issues that got him the victory are now being replaced with what Javanka says...

DACA, BIG spending, AMNESTY, sanctuary cities, the WALL stall, 2nd Amendment, all come to mind as getting shaky support these days from what we were told in the campaign.

He has been good on keeping promises, but flirting with the RINOcrats and socialists is crazy if he is going to be the leader of the party... the RINOs are ALREADY democrat lite

Fake news. As if President Trump wanted Ivanka and Jared Kushner to give up their White House positions, there is no doubt that Trump himself would tell them that as they are family.

Fake news like this report has been designed by the Democrats and Never Trump Republicans from the get-go to pick off Trump’s trusted advisors one by one to disrupt and sabotage Trump’s outsider administration.

In this case, if Kelly and Trump had a “private” meeting to discuss the Kushners’ future, it should be pretty easy for them to figure out who the leaker is.

I have a hard time understanding how something "private" hits the news. I´v read about it and heard about it on radio news. Private, huh? What a joke. Most likely never happened. Also I don´t believe the Pres. would have someone else "fire" his kids. He would call them in and let them know they and the kiddies would be better off in New York.
Mr. Trump knows how to say "Your Fired!". He had a long running TV show touting that phrase.
Surely his relationship with his kids is strong enough to withstand their leaving the White House through a request by the president. Chances are it may be them wanting to return to New York.
What I feel is immaterial to them staying or leaving.

(i think they should leave....i had to admit it.)

IMO, in the editor´s office the conversation goes like this - Anybody got any ideas about a story? Doofus raises a hand and says maybe we could get some attention by putting out PDT doesn´t have the guts to fire his own daughter and her husband. Hey, that´s an idea. Let´s say Kelly wants them gone. OK, but instead of saying Kelly wants them gone we could say Trump wants Kelly to fire them - and there you have the back story as so-called journalists like to say.

To all those who don´t like Ivanka and Jared, I would remind you that the proper target for your ire is the GOPE leadership. If Trump wanted to fire these two, he would do it, and Ivanka has publicly said so in interviews. The media is just not paying attention.

I don´t believe Trump ever had any intention of adding them to his staff. But after Ryan tried to pull that fast one on Trump early last year, Trump announced that Ivanka and Jared were official staff the next business day.

So Ryan and McTurtle built this whole mess you are all complaining about. Trump needed eyes and ears he could trust, and that would be Ivanka and Jared. Blame the GOPE, for they are the ones who built this, not Trump.

": Report" -- unattributed reports are essentially rumors, whose credibility stands on who reports it.

"sources told the New York Times" -- reported by a news group who has thoroughly squandered whatever credibility they might once have had.

That´s enough to mark this report as fake news.

The President and General Kelly talk business with each other behind a Farraday Cage which is electronically inpenetrable.

The New York Times is claiming they got the story from somebody in on the conversation ~ so that´d be, at that time, Hope Hicks, The President or General Kelly.

Hope is gone.

Most likely the NYT propaganda flaks saw her leave and said to each other "Let´s put words in her mouth" so they did ~ and attributed it to some sort of informant.

Or, alternative, the NYT has once again surreptitiously surveilled the White House with electronic bugs of all sort ~ this will necessitate another thorough cleansing.

Think about this – a significant portion of our country, including a majority of its elite, thinks that it’s A-OK for a Democrat administration to spy on a Republican candidate. Think hard about that. And think about whether or not we can ever put the pieces of our shattered republic back together again if we can’t even agree that using government power against our political enemies is a bad thing. But the terrifying truth is that liberals and their Never Trump enablers actually think this kind of tyranny is a good thing. To understand the liberal worldview, the contrived campaign to make Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg into some kind of a folk hero is a useful object of study. She has been the subject of a variety of hagiographical portraiture, ranging from fawning magazine profiles and sycophantic treatment in film to illustrated children’s books. She inspires her followers to get her image tattooed onto their bodies, to mimic her fitness routines, to feel as she felt and to weep as she wept. This behavior lends itself to quite a few descriptors, but you cannot call it a cult. The cult leader is nigh infallible, but that is not Ginsburg’s role.

The Democratic Party has no leader right now. No one. Former President Barack Obama is palling around with his billionaire, island-owning buddies. Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders is kicking back in one of his three houses (we’re guessing the big one on Lake Champlain). And the 20-some 2020 presidential wannabes are all jockeying for media attention (and cash, lots of cash). In such a void, that leaves just one person with the spotlight: the bitter, ever-angry, petty, vindictive Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton told the Democratic Women’s Leadership Forum on Friday that she would be a foundational part of the anti-Trump

As Trump won primary after primary in 2016, a rattled John Brennan started claiming to colleagues at the CIA that Estonia’s intelligence agency had alerted him to an intercepted phone call suggesting Putin was pouring money into the Trump campaign. The tip was bogus, but Brennan bit on it with opportunistic relish. Out of Brennan’s alarmist chatter about the bogus tip came an extraordinary leak to the BBC: that Brennan had used it, along with later half-baked tips from British intelligence, as the justification to form a multi-agency spy operation (given the Orwellian designation of an “inter-agency taskforce”) on the Trump

I´m trying to remember a failed presidential candidate before now who made a second career out of whining about losing an election. Sure, Al Gore cried into his Hostess snack cakes for a while after his devastating loss, but then he found much greater success by appointing himself President of the Environment. After half a decade of stagnation, the story of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and his endless stay at the Ecuadorian embassy in London may be moving into high gear. It was only a week ago when we learned that his hosts were talking about either trying to sneak him out of the country to Russia or simply telling him to pack his things and walk out the door. They were also complaining about his grubby living conditions and describing him as being a “threat” to embassy personnel. Now, in yet another signal that it may be time to go, Ecuador has fully withdrawn Assange’s special security detail who had been protecting him. (Reuters)

Whatever you do, don’t say “spy.” That’s the essential takeaway from the New York Times article May 18. So that no one misses the message, it’s right there in the headline: “F.B.I. Used Informant to Investigate Russia Ties to Campaign, Not to Spy, as Trump Claims.” That’s reinforced in the opening sentence of the story, which proclaims President Donald Trump “accused the F.B.I. on Friday, without evidence, of sending a spy to secretly infiltrate his 2016 campaign …” The Times makes it clear that Trump is wrong to claim that there was “at least one FBI representative implanted, for political purposes, into

An autonomous vehicle was used in 2015 to locate a Spanish galleon that sunk 300 years ago off the coast of Colombia with $17 billion in treasure, the research team that helped in the discovery said on Monday. The San Jose, which was considered the “holy grail of shipwrecks,” was located with the help of an underwater autonomous vehicle operated by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The institution said it was holding the discovery under wraps out of respect for the Colombian government. The treasure—which includes of gold, silver and emeralds-- has been the subject of legal battles between several

Former FBI Director James Comey defended the FBI’s use of confidential sources Wednesday following a series of tweets from President Trump about “spygate.” He also warned that attacks on and lies about the bureau and its work will cause “lasting damage” to the country. “Facts matter. The FBI’s use of Confidential Human Sources (the actual term) is tightly regulated and essential to protecting the country. Attacks on the FBI and lying about its work will do lasting damage to our country. How will Republicans explain this to their grandchildren?” Comey tweeted. NEW YORK — In his newly released book, Sen. John McCain admits he knew the anti-Trump dossier that he infamously passed to the FBI contained “unproven accusations,” “mostly raw, unverified intelligence” and allegations about which the senator “had no idea” if “any were true.” Yet McCain maintains he had an “obligation” to pass the wild charges against Donald Trump to FBI Director James Comey and he would even do it again. “Anyone who doesn’t like it can go to hell,” McCain exclaimed. In the book The Restless Wave, McCain provides an inside account of how he says he came across

Some NFL players are reportedly considering new ways to protest after NFL owners voted on a new national anthem policy Wednesday, reports Sports Illustrated´s Robert Klemko. According to Klemko, some are discussing ways to skirt new rules "just to spite the NFL." The policy removes a requirement for players to be on the field for the anthem, and gives players the option to stay in the locker room. Teams will be fined for any personnel that "do not show proper respect for the flag and Anthem” on the sidelines. Other journalists were hearing similar things from players they talked to.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper writes in his new book, "Facts and Fears" that he has "no doubt" the Russian influence campaign swung the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump. MSNBC´s Rachel Maddow read a short excerpt from the book, available now, ahead of an interview with Clapper Tuesday night. "As a private citizen, I had no doubt they influence at least some voters. NFL club owners are considering potential 15-yard penalties for kneeling during the national anthem among ways of coping with a backlash over player protests, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday. According to a story on the magazine´s website, owners set aside three hours to talk about the anthem issue, which President Donald Trump elevated into a major controversy last year. Ideas to handle players kneeling during the anthem included allowing home teams to decide if players should be out of the locker room during the pre-game playing of The Star-Spangled Banner or not.If players are on the sideline, then 15-yard

President Trump cannot block people from his @realDonaldTrump account just because he doesn’t like their political views, a Manhattan federal judge ruled on Wednesday. Doing so violates their First Amendment right to free speech because Twitter is a “public forum,” Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald wrote in a landmark ruling that could change how public officials use Twitter. “We reject the defendants’ contentions that the First Amendment does not apply in this case and that the President’s personal First Amendment interests supersede those of plaintiffs,” the judge wrote in her 75-page ?decision. The public face of the gun-control movement demanded $1 million Thursday from the Florida-based grocery chain in a tweet, just one day after calling for a “die-in” protest at its stores. Publix is being targeted by Mr. Hogg for its support of Adam Putnam, a Republican gubernatorial candidate who is now the state’s agricultural commissioner. The Tampa Bay Times reported earlier this week that Publix had given $670,000 during the last three years to Putnam campaigns. Mr. Hogg not only sought atonement money from the grocery chain in Thursday’s tweet, he also demanded a pledge of ideological fealty to the

The NFL Players’ Association (NFLPA) on Wednesday criticized the league for its new national anthem policy. In a statement, the union said it would review the new policy and “challenge any aspect of it that is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement.” The union accused the league of contradicting its previous statements, and of ignoring players’ wishes in developing the new policy, which instructs that all team and league personnel should stand for the national anthem. “The NFL chose to not consult the union in the development of this new ‘policy,’” the union said in a statement. “NFL players have
