Trump backs George P. Bush, Jeb´s
son, in Texas political race

Fox News, by Alex Pappas

President Trump on Tuesday endorsed the son of his former GOP primary rival Jeb Bush in a Texas political race. The president wrote in a tweet that Texas land commissioner George P. Bush “backed me when it wasn’t the politically correct thing to do, and I back him now. George P. Bush backed Trump in the 2016 general election. His father, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, his uncle, former President George W. Bush, and his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, did not support Trump.

You know Trump does this type of stuff on purpose. He knows just how to push the right buttons to drive his RINO opponents crazy.

George P. Bush is a RINO. But he is the only person running for that position that has any chance to win. So he is going to be re-elected. So Trump doesn´t hurt anything by endorsing Bush. But Trump sure makes the Bush family look petty and back-stabbing for not supporting him.

Personally, I hope George P. Bush decides to run for something bigger next time, gets his head handed to him on a platter in the primary, and just fades away.

I respectfully disagree with #3. Jerry Patterson will make a fine Land Commissioner and every conservative I know intends to vote for him.

Texas MUST be rid of the Clinton´s BFF Bushes.

Think #3 already answered my question. Was there a better alternative to Bush? Get the impression the answer is ´No´. Trump picks his battles. Regardless, this isn´t one of them.

This conservative is voting to reelect George P. Bush. When Jerry Patterson retired four years ago to run (and lose) for Lieutenant Governor, he endorsed Bush to replace him.

I really know nothing about George P, but he must be sent a message. He is where he is because of his family name. His family name is now Mudd since they supported the Clintons in 2016. And that fact opened our eyes to all the other reasons why the Bushes are persona non grata in the new GOP (I don´t need to list them for this crowd!).

I do think Trump wins on this endorsement by making the Bushes look petty, but if GPB is sent the message of defeat, it might not be a win for DPT.

I would tend to give native Texans like #6 more credence than the rest of us. #3 also makes good sense. Same as nearly everyone here, I am no fan of the Bushes, but would rather see a RINO than a hard leftist--and Texas has plenty of those such as the horrendous Castro brothers of Bexar County--in any political office.

By endorsing George P. Bush, President Trump, who can see the ramifications of his actions more clearly than almost anyone else because he hasn´t been ideologically blinded by being a career politician, is, I realize, exercising good sense and magnanimity that few on the other side possess. Or even on our side.

He also is a good public speaker, with energy and emotion that his father lacks.

Sounds to me like this Bush wants to make his own way in life, apart from the squishy moderate politics of his family. That kind of independence I can support.

The fact he did endorse Trump in 2016 was or should have been news. Trump is simply repaying the favor. Plus it is a dig at the rest of the family too.

George P, native of Florida, has a plan that will destroy the Alamo, including removing
from Alamo Plaza a gorgeous cenotaph honoring all the heroes who died at the Alamo. His office has been accused of financial mismanagement. Example: the day he awarded a huge contract for Hurricane Harvey relief, he received a $30,000 political donation from the company.

Unfortunately, he has three opponents to split the anti-Geo. P. vote, but Jerry Patterson is probably the only one with name recognition, as he was the previous Land Commissioner. So, Patterson it is!

Staten Island, N.Y. - How popular is President Donald Trump on Staten Island? So popular that he even tops the iconic Robert De Niro. At least as far as Great Kills resident Joseph DeVito is concerned. DeVito has become an Internet sensation after trashing a photo of De Niro in the wake of the actor´s foul-mouthed "F--k Trump" diatribe at the Tony Awards. That rant led DeVito, who calls De Niro his idol in the video, to take a framed picture of the actor from his wall, drop it in a trash can outside, and smash the picture glass with a hammer. Singapore - A historic handshake in front of US and North Korean flags, a solemn signing ceremony and back-slapping compliments: critics charge that US President Donald Trump has legitimised Kim Jong Un on the world stage. The photo opportunity the world was waiting to see -- the two leaders clasping hands -- has also been a goal of the Kim dynasty for decades.
