When Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel
Was Accused of Corruption, He Responded:
´Lions Don´t Care About the Opinions of Sheep´

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel—the man whose agency failed to prevent the Parkland massacre despite having received a tip last November that Nikolas Cruz was plotting a mass shooting—has been accused of public corruption. Two years ago, the Sun Sentinel reported that Israel was rewarding top political supporters by giving them and their family members cushy jobs doing public relations and community outreach for the Broward County Sheriff´s Office. One such position, outreach manager, paid out a salary of $78,489. The person who got that job was the husband of Israel´s campaign manager. Israel had been a Republican but ran

Sounds like his career is about to go down the toilet especially now that it has been reported that three other deputies hid behind their cars while the shooting was going on.

This wretch is some piece of work. To say what I really feel about him would probably get me banned from this site for ten lifetimes.
Folks, THIS is exactly what happens when you let politics infect a law-enforcement agency, and why elections for sheriff are so important. Ignore the flashy; look for the guy/girl who has the mettle to make the tough (and maybe unpopular) decisions that are often necessary to save lives.
"Sheepdog", #2? More like a Bichon Frise.

With that attitude it´s no surprise that it leads to the slaughter of the lambs. But then Leftists only care about the sheep and the lambs (whether outside the womb or still unborn) only as far as they can use them to their political advantage.

Israel went to the CNN Town Hall meeting knowing that the Deputy did not respond to the school shooting didn´t say a word. Also the police were well aware of Cruz but did nothing. The sheriff liked taking selfies with Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton this is a snowflake sheriff. The police from the next town are the ones who ran into the crime scene, bet they were Republicans.

I was quite angered by the articles yesterday concerning the deputy officer that quit. Also angered by some of the remarks here on this website. He is being painted as a wimp and I am tired by those remarks.

How much training have any of these personnel received for domestic violence and terrorism? After all, isn´t that why he is stationed as an armed guard.

During the eight years of Obama´s presidency, we watched the morale of police officers be demoralized. Many times I asked myself what the leadership was doing about training and support for these individuals going out to the streets. Some of these police officers have to watch situations where a criminal is caught only to have some lawyer undo all of their efforts.

Police unions and police leadership seemed to be backing Obama and I called bogus on them. Officers need the support of leadership and the union if necessary. Of course, leadership and unions seem to be Democrat controlled. Obvious problem. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel is also the problem.

John 10: 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. (ESV)

And still 17 innocent people are buried. Israel played a grotesque game of politics and that might explain why some things happened. PC thought, hesitance to be controversial, constantly thinking of himself rather than the community. Democrats never go out of their little "Me!" box and that might have a lot to do with how Israel and his "Men" reacted.

Something tells me that the liberal Democrats and their media minions who have been shooting at the NRA have been firing at the wrong target, and should have been aiming at this political Sheriff and his likely use of Obama era ineffective non-enforcement policies when it comes to high school students. As for the NRA the only interaction they have with high schools and their students is to offer them free firearms safety training.

When a law enforcement agency is essentially warned a total of 39 times that an individual is dangerous and unstable, including intending to perpetrate mass murder, by members his family and the general public, or through direct interaction with the person after complaints were made against him, and he is still out on the street without any competent mental health screening, and able to purchase a firearm, something is wrong!

Remember it is the sheriff’s direct responsibility to ensure that his officers are property trained, are competent, and are ready to make an effective law enforcement response to any incident that occurs.

Of course as usual the liberals and their minions will never admit the true facts and will go on deflecting blame, as thats the only way they can hope to maintain their political power that they crave more then anything else.

The deal is that Broward gets federal funds for reducing the rate of arrests of students.

To get those funds Broward simply changed the way they enforce the law. Voila, the arrest record dropped. They got more money.

To keep getting more money they revised the standards for enforcement to something like ~ MURDER or DISMEMBERMENT ~ then they´ll go enforce the law.

For the Deputies to enter the building while shots were ringing out would have violated the DEAL and they´d lose federal funds.

I think Donald Trump would like to have Judge Sessions take a look at this widespread FRAUD AGAINST THE USA.... ~ oh ~ and the massive civil rights violations against the children in those schools.

#9 - for the record, there were four officers on the school grounds during the shooting.

Video circulating in various news sites confirm this.

Not one officer attempted to enter the school during the shooting.

Question is: was a ´stand down´ order given?

It´s easy for us to split hairs in what the officers should or shouldn´t have done. One thing is clear - NO ONE did anything to stop this massacre - beginning with the Sheriffs office, or the FBI.

#9, when people are being slaughtered, the armed officer is the back up.

That is why he was given the badge and gun. When the time for action came, he chose to either follow a ridiculous protocol rendered moot by circumstances or chose to save his own bacon (no pun intended.)

There are seventeen people who wish they had his gun.

Another story linked in this article states that one of Sheriff Israel’s programs has deputies, as well as himself, living rent-free in mobile homes on the grounds of 43 schools. They were to provide 24-hour security. An audit showed the officers failed to report to alarms 73% of the time. One deputy even sub-let his mobile home to non-officers. Many officers failed to log their activities. The auditor called the program worthless and embarrassing. Israel defended the program, saying the officers would “lose their livelihood” if it were cancelled.

Please pardon the second post, but some things said here need a response. I and other officers I´ve discussed the event with are incensed that the SRO did not immediately charge to the sound of the gunfire and take that killer out. The additional info that there were FOUR BCSO deputies outside during the massacre is incomprehensible to us. Officers from Coral Springs reported that when they went in, the BCSO deputies did not go in with them. We are outraged at the failure of LE at the local and federal level to prevent or shorten this attack. To condemn this massive failure of law enforcement is not offensive to us at all. We strongly condemn it as well. The blue line I stand on has NO place for those who failed to protect these innocent kids and teachers at school.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, I like #10 and #27. Training be damned, it´s basic human decency to help somebody in trouble when you have the means, like the swimmer who dives into a lake to save a drowning person.

It took real lions to just sit there while children were being slaughtered. I couldn´t imagine standing outside while the shooting and the screaming was going on. What kind of training did Cruz have? Half of those kids could have been saved. Not only is the deputy who quit seeing the end of his career, the sheriff is also finished. If the deputy thought he was doing the right thing, why did he quit? Why is his home under armed guard?

The office of sheriff in the counties of Florida is not what most folks think of when expecting a law enforcement officer. Florida Sheriffs are plenipotentiary. In Polk County where I lived for a while Grady Judd was elected Sheriff - meaning he served his constituents and if his constituents did not like his performance they could vote him out of office. Grady Judd, like all Florida County Sheriffs, is very political, harder to the right than I even expected in a place like Florida. But Judd did enforce the law. Broward County finds itself with a political Sheriff who ran on the left side of the spectrum and naturally probably does not have the respect or support of the vast majority of his rank and file. This will be made very clear shortly - even if the msm tries to cover it up.

And it´s Liberals like this, all across the country in law enforcement, who think that to serve and protect means to serve & protect themselves, not their community. They are a stain on the profession, and seriously weaken the bonds of trust with those they serve, dangerously so. As always, there´s nothing Liberals do better than make things worse.

The young perpetrator calmly exited the building, blending in with the crowd of students. He was spotted by an alert officer in a neighboring jurisdiction (Is it Coral Springs? I don´t know or care to know Florida)as matching the description of the shooter and arrested him on the street. It appears officers of the same jurisdiction were the first into the scene, bypassing the BCSO personnel.

It is my understanding that following Columbine most AmericanDepartments discarded"establish a perimeter and call for back-up". The current generally accepted policy as I understand it (IANALEO) is the first officer on scene immediately closes to engage the attacker. Secons are critical.d

To add to #38, Cruz also stopped at a fast food joint for a short while (after having just shot 17 people) and was then recognized on the sidewalk by police. A true sociopath who fell through all the cracks.

If he had just worn a jacket or a hat to alter his appearance he would likely have gotten away, for a while anyway.

After Columbine, we were trained that you don´t wait for back up, we trained to go immediately in and stop the threat.
At Virginie Tech, the shooter, chained doors so he had more time to shoot.
This deputy will have to live with the fact for the rest of his life that he failed the students and 17 died because of his inactions.

I mourn the deaths of those innocent children and the adults who stepped up to help them. But here´s the real tragedy. The left - media and politicians - are using this horrible incident to advance their anti-gun agenda. Blaming the 2d amendment and the NRA. They say the 2d amendment isn´t important because law enforcement will be there to protect us, therefore the citizens do not need guns for their own protection. Now we have the example of a politicized sheriff who would not have his people step forward to protect the children. We have the FBI who has also been politicized and I question whether we can count on them. I believe I am in a much better position to protect my own with my legally owned firearms. Mostly, though, I think I need my firearms to protect me and my family and neighbors from our own government. That´s what scares me as much as anything.

Watch this:
Now that cnn has whipped up the masses into blaming the gun instead of the inaction of the police, FBI, school district, etc., what will all these parents say about their lawsuits? Will they still sue the law enforcement agencies for their dereliction of duty, even though they have basically absolved them of blame by pointing all of their collective anger towards the gun? Have they painted themselves into a political corner? Or will they happily start to spread the blame where it belongs when they start looking for the deep pockets to go after?
Should be fun to watch...

Remember in November. We must dismantle the Democrat oppressive government apparatus, stating with the FBI and Department of Injustice. Not only the Coward County police are responsible but also the Teacher Unions that redesigned public schools in Broward and Miami-Dade to reduce disparities in the number of arrests of African-Americans and Hispanic students at school. This led to Trayvon Martin and now Nikolas Cruz going feral with no consequences.

When the liberal Democrats deflate 17 murders into an act of gun violence that needs a political solution, you should recognize that there is something very wrong, like they are angling for a political advantage.

Police are nothing more than revenue generators anymore. Just there to reinforce and fund the ongoing police state.
Don´t think so? How much good has the war on drugs accomplished? The TSA? The Border patrol? The list is endless. Every agency just plays lip service to these efforts while taking home a fat check for doing basically nothing. Arm yourself.

#9, when you put on the uniform and swear to "serve and protect", some of us silly civilians out here actually expect you to do your job.

Sorry if you are tired of hearing it, but I am tired of the Broward Cowards who stood by with guns in their hands while 17 kids were shot down, keeping themselves safe and sound outside behind their cars.

The sheriff and these officers need to be fired, it is that simple.

Find a new sheriff and new deputies who will ACTUALLY protect the citizens, especially in gun free zones where they are prohibited from protecting themselves.

Its just common sense, law enforcement officers take an oath to protect and serve, that is their sworn duty. When a perpetrator is inside a school shooting children all law enforcement officers at the scene have a sworn duty to confront the perpetrator and to take him out as quickly as possible and save the children´s lives at the risk of their own lives. All law enforcement officers know that from the day they took their oath of office.

There is something else in play in Broward County that has not yet become public, its possible that supervisors told those officers to hold their positions until the supervisors arrived on the scene, or since that political sheriff has been hobnobbing with Hillary Clinton, that the Sheriff´s Dept may have instituted Obama Administration inspired social justice based very liberal operating instructions regarding law enforcement interaction with schools and high school students, that would have changed established law enforcement practice, especially when dealing with minority students, and that may have barred law enforcement officers, other than designated school resource officers from entering the schools. That all should come out in the near future.

President Trump, apparently, is open to rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Yes, that TPP, the same multilateral trade deal that Trump savaged during the 2016 presidential campaign and withdrew the United States from in the early days of his administration. Last week, during a meeting with farm-state lawmakers, the president said his administration would revisit the deal and instructed advisers to look into the matter. Of course, it’s hard to know whether to take the overture seriously. Tuesday night, Trump threw cold water on the idea via Twitter, expressing a preference for bilateral trade deals. Regardless, rejoining the TPP is a

It’s a pretty safe bet that, with the possible exception of former First Lady Barbara Bush, the two private citizens who most dominated the legacy news media this week were Southwest pilot Tammie Jo Shults and former FBI director James Comey. Both have occupied positions of trust for decades, but it’s pretty clear that only one is actually trustworthy. Read the following and try to decide which of the two possesses genuine character: On Tuesday Captain Shults contacted air traffic control shortly after 11AM and, after identifying her Boeing 737 as Southwest 1380 and noting that it was carrying “149

In a victory for the longstanding Wall Street "Charging Bull" statute, New York City Hall announced the "Fearless Girl" statue will soon move to a new location three blocks away. "Fearless Girl" was commissioned by the investment firm State Street Global Advisors to advertise an index fund. In March 2017, it was placed in front of the iconic bull statute, a piece of guerrilla art celebrating American entrepreneurship created by Italian immigrant and Free Beacon Man of the Year Arturo Di Modica. The statute immediately went viral as a feminist icon, with the bull being recast as a symbol of the patriarchy.

Twenty-five years ago today, FBI tanks smashed into the ramshackle home of the Branch Davidians outside Waco, Texas. After the FBI collapsed much of the building atop the residents, a fire erupted and 76 corpses were dug out of the rubble. Unfortunately, the American political system and media have never faced the lessons from that tragic 1993 day. Fifty-one days before the FBI final assault, scores of federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents launched an attack on the Davidians’ home spurred by allegations that they had converted semi-automatic rifles to full-automatic capacity. The ATF’s lead investigator had previously rejected an offer

But within hours of White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow’s statement Tuesday that Haley had fallen prey to “momentary confusion” and gotten

James Comey´s extended book tour isn´t only rattling President Trump. It´s also inducing a bit of post-traumatic stress disorder among Democrats, many of whom consider the fired FBI director the villain of the 2016 election. Comey´s near-omnipresence on the air and online to promote the release of “A Higher Loyalty” complicates, if not undermines, Democrats’ effort to capitalize on the feud between the president and the nation´s former top law enforcement official. On one hand, they are still seething over Comey´s decision to issue a scathing indictment of Hillary Clinton´s judgment during a July 2016 press conference to announce the FBI would

An interesting catch by anti-Trump GOP strategist Liz Mair, who says that this latest polling nugget explains why Hillary Clinton´s obnoxious whining about ´sexism´ ought to be directed at her own party, not the GOP. The twice-failed presidential candidate recently complained that losing male politicians are never told to shut up and go away (which isn´t true at all), so why should she do so? Washington - Dozens of Democratic U.S. Senators on Wednesday introduced a resolution calling for Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt to resign on allegations of ethics lapses. Those relate to the agency’s purchase of a $43,000 sound booth for his office and spending on travel and security. The resolution was signed by 39 senators in the 100-member Senate, which is controlled by Pruitt’s fellow Republicans. Although Republicans can defeat it, the resolution is symbolically important because it represents the most senators ever to call for a Cabinet member’s ouster in resolution, its sponsors said.
