Students in Louisiana thought
this math symbol looked like
a gun. Police were called

A discussion among students at Oberlin High School in Oberlin, La., about a mathematical symbol led to a police investigation and a search of one of the student’s homes, according to the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office. On the afternoon of Feb. 20, detectives investigated a report of terroristic threats at the school, where they learned that a student had been completing a math problem that required drawing the square-root sign. Students in the group began commenting that the symbol, which represents a number that when multiplied by itself equals another number, looked like a gun.

If these mushheads can´t tell the difference between a radix and a gun, no wonder they think ARs are machine guns. For that, we have American public education to thank.

So - the cops seeing the symbol (withholding
laughter here) proceeded to search the house of the enlightened kid? See what happens when you DO pay attention in school - you get "rewarded" in the most nonbeneficial way.

Sadly look how well the anti gun indoctrination and brainwashing of our kids is working. It’s like a brain eating bacterial disease. When I was a kid we played guns all the time. Cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, army combat, you name it. It was all play. No one ever got hurt. As I got older say around 13 or so, I got into the NRA student shooting sports. We were issued a single shot .22 and were taught gun safety, and how to shoot, and we had shooting competitions. It was a lot of fun. Now days the very thought of these activities is met with horror and fear. This isn’t the America I was raised in any more.

Lots more of these symbols probably frighten them too. The ´not equal´ sign is harsh, demeaning, and encourages bullying. The pi sign looks like a Russian letter - more proof of collusion. And the multiplication X sign could be a clandestined swastika where the little hooks are just hidden.

Rainfall has shuttered all but a few of Cuba’s 54 sugar mills, with output down nearly 40 percent to the lowest level in more than a century, which could force the island to import, official media and industry sources say. While inclement weather played a big role in this season’s disastrous performance, local experts and officials also blamed inadequate reforms and decapitalization, reflecting more broadly the socialist country’s struggle to update its economy. The Communist Party has already tasked President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who replaced Raul Castro last month, with carrying out a series of reforms aimed at making the state-dominated

President Donald Trump is poised to pardon Scooter J. Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, according to sources familiar with the president’s thinking. The president has already signed off on the pardon, which is something he has been considering for several months, sources told ABC News. The White House has repeatedly said that no pardons are currently on the table for people caught up in the Russia investigation

Hungary´s all-powerful premier Viktor Orban, his party victorious in elections Sunday, is the self-styled defender of Christian Europe against the "poison" of immigration, an admirer of "illiberal democracy" and a thorn in the European Union´s side. Preliminary results from the elections put Orban´s Fidesz party on course to win a thumping 49 percent of the vote, likely giving him a commanding two-thirds majority in parliament once again. With his disdain for the "globalist elite", Orban´s fiery, nationalist populism has made him a poster boy for "patriots" everywhere. In less than 200 pages, Sowell lays waste to myth after myth not only in the United States but around the globe. One of those myths is that but for the fact of discrimination, we´d all be proportionately represented in socio-economic characteristics, such as career, income, education and incarceration. The fact of business is that there is no evidence anywhere on earth, at any time in human history, that demonstrates that but for discrimination,

A 63-year-old father of 43 children was found beaten to death Sunday afternoon in his home on Chicago´s West Side. The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children. Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood. "He was the nicest man you´d ever want to meet. I don´t get it. All this killing is so senseless and now they are targeting the elderly," said Gwen Bridgeforth, his daughter-in-law.
