For the LGBT Community, Gus
Kenworthy´s Olympics Loss Is Still a Big Win

Pyeongchang - The moment, when it happened, felt routine to American slopestyle skier Gus Kenworthy, who along with figure skater Adam Rippon is the only openly gay male Winter Olympian to ever compete for the United States. Matthew Wilkas, Kenworthy’s boyfriend, gave Kenworthy a good-luck kiss before a qualifying run on Sunday in South Korea. “That was like a peck,” Wilkas, who wore a “USGay” t-shirt to the event, tells TIME afterwards from the bottom of the slopestyle course at the Phoenix Snow Park. “We should have made out in front of people.” Kenworthy didn’t know the TV cameras caught

He finished Dead Last in last night´s event. He even skipped the final jump. You aren´t at the Olympics to make a political statement, but to perform your best.

His screaming mother, waving a rainbow flag, was also a nice touch. She and the boyz made quite a threesome.

Johnny Weir was the first gay skater to perform at the Olympics. He just didn´t get into the face of the viewers like Rippon is doing. Rippon is the first gay activist skater to be in the Olympics, but not the first gay skater.

Why do these gay people feel the ´compulsion´ to display their attitudes to the public and to basically shove it in our face ? It is unfathomable to me. To Reply #7, I believe it was Scott Hamilton, but he didn´t flaunt his gender bias, was a courteous gentleman, great skater, extremely likeable person, and excellent Media host. Lastly, TIME magazine sucks and belongs where you find it, in Doctor´s offices, where sick peple can read their biased, liberal garbage. Just my personal opinion.

You want to know why a backlash is coming for homosexuals? All you have to do is watch the IN YOUR FACE garbage NBC is foisting on its audience. Can anything be more disgusting than watching two bearded men kiss? Well, yes, NBC is more disgusting for making this Olympics all about the wonderfulness of abnormal people and their abnormal sexuality. And, this idiot writer is worse for trying to make those two seem normal.

I think the first Olympic ice skater was the first gay skater. All of the previous skaters knew to just skate your best and people would enjoy your ability and pretend that everything else was cool.

#7 you forgot about Brian Boitano. He won the gold in 1988. In the link below it states that he "won the gold medal, wearing skates with American flag appliqués that are now part of the collections of the National Museum of American History." Can you imagine the insufferable Rippon or Johnny Weir doing that? Of course not. They would be wearing the rainbow flag instead.

So then, in your face. A kiss is pretty weak representation, accept that you define yourself by your sexual preference. Go for the whole enchilada, that´s representing.

Or mind your own business and respect others.

His attitude, regardless of success, is symptomatic of why the LGBT community does so poorly in America. Not content with being tolerated to live their own lives and philosophies, they scream for attention, picking fights with everyone that does not worship their choices.

He could have won Gold in every event that he entered, but he only earned the contempt of every non-activist, in America. His rudeness only shows he is unsuited for the world stage.

Yes, because an athlete´s sexual orientation is the most important thing here. The fact that your boyfriend turned in the worst performance on the slopes doesn´t matter at all. Despite what this article says, it wasn´t a BIG win.

There really is no need for NBC and Time to be making these folks out as heroes.

Just making it to the Olympics is a grand feat in itself.

Evidently, there are many who are not paying attention to how the television and cable media have taken over the march to present gays

It´s saturated all over. There are many more black people in the media.

This soft approach to make everything normal is having an effect, but the "in your face" tactics of some are really counterproductive.

Greg Louanis had tremendous athletic glory who won MANY medals in Olympic competition, and yet he never made outrageous and obnoxious displays of himself trying to get attention while coatailing others....

I don’t find Johnny Weir to be insufferable. He never snarks, just amuses. And he knows figure skating. An excellent, knowledgeable commentator. We have watched him and the formerly (when she was 12) insufferable Tara Lipinski do some amusing turns at the Olympics and at the major races like the Kentucky Derby. They are bright and funny together; never nasty.

How ignorant Time writers are. John Curry, who won the 1976 Olympic gold medal was gay. He died of Aids in 1994. When Aids first became prevalent, many skating coaches died. And the skating community mourned them. These leftists in the media as usual, have no idea what they are talking about. They are too lazy to do any investigative reporting. Also, while devoting all of their energies towards force feeding and reinforcing their SJW ideology, they count on the readers´ ignorance and when a contradictory fact does pop up, the writers suppress it doing whatever possible to keep the readers ignorant. These writers are not "reporters". They are Propagandists for the Left.

An interesting article is posted directly below this, discussing how Aly Raisman is making a spectacle of herself and doesn´t understand the line that must exist between our private lives and our jobs.

At this moment, competing in the Olympics is the job of these athletes. Anything - ANYTHING - that distracts them from this should be pushed aside.

Kenworthy didn´t get the memo. If the Olympics are the most important thing to him, he shouldn´t be flaunting his private life. If his private life is the most important thing to him, he shouldn´t be at the Olympics.

WASHINGTON — Bernie Sanders is back in the Senate minority. Hillary Clinton is selling books and playing with grandchildren. And the Democratic Party is still navigating the fallout from their bitter 2016 presidential nominating fight. The latest reminder came this week as party leaders failed to agree on how to reduce the influence of so-called "superdelegates" in picking Democrats´ next White House nominee. That class of party leaders — Democratic National Committee members, elected officials and others — overwhelmingly favored Clinton two years ago, inflaming Sanders backers who accused Democratic power players of stacking the deck. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) scolded President Trump for celebrating the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Friday night, telling him to “gloat now, but you will be fired soon.” “And it’s not going to be done cowardly, as you’ve done to so many who’ve served you,” Swalwell tweeted Saturday. “There’s a storm gathering, Mr. President, and it’s going to wipe out you and your corrupt organization all the way down to the studs.” (Snip) The Democrat, who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, was responding to Trump’s tweet celebrating McCabe’s firing. Swalwell also tweeted on Friday night that

Hillary Clinton provided an explanation for some recent comments she made that she understood ´upset or offended´ some Americans – statements that drew criticism from fellow Democrats and the Trump White House alike. ´I understand how some of what I said upset people and can be misinterpreted. I meant no disrespect to any individual or group,´ she said in a Facebook post. ´And I want to look to the future as much as anybody.´ Clinton, on a trip to India, had talked about how her voters came from economically advantaged places in comparison to Trump voters, and also noted how white women

First there was the casual sexism: the reason white women didn’t back her when she ran for president, Hillary Clinton believes, is “a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.” Have you noticed that her sneering always seems to take the same form? She’s become the queen of the contemptuous listicle that tails off into a snarling “whatever.” Remember the formulation in the speech where she came up with the term “basket of deplorables?” “You could put half of Trump´s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables,” Hillary said.

Democratic lawmakers have offered to hire fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe so that he can qualify for his pension. McCabe´s employment was terminated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions less than 48 hours before he would have qualified for his pension, a day that was also his 50th birthday. Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., asked McCabe on Twitter to "call him." "I could use a good two-day report on the biggest crime families in Washington, D.C.," he wrote. Pocan was responding to a tweet by MSNBC journalist Andrea Mitchell, who said if a member of Congress were to hire him

Republican Jeff Flake delivered a speech Thursday at the annual ´Politics and Eggs´ event at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. Flake said that during the administration of President Donald Trump, conservatives were an endangered species and the Republican Party had surrendered to a "propaganda-fueled dystopian view." Flake, who recently called for a 2020 Republican primary challenger against President Trump, is in the group of people who might do just that. "I haven´t ruled it out," he told CNN later in this same day. "I stand before you today the rarest of species," the retiring moderate Republican

Armed sheriff´s deputies appeared on the scene of the recent school massacre in Florida while kids were still being murdered inside. But the deputies failed to storm the building to apprehend the killer, to rescue the assaulted, to stop the bleeding and to comfort the dying. They failed to do their jobs. Instead, they cowered behind their patrol cars waiting for, well, apparently waiting for the shooting to stop. Some 150 bullets and 17 lives later, it finally did and the killer walked away. Only then did the deputies enter the building. About that, President Donald Trump characteristically said what he thought. He

A prominent Republican says that Donald Trump would doom his presidency if he fires special counsel Robert Mueller. Sen Lindsey Graham, during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union”, said that Mr Mueller is following the evidence where it takes him as he investigates Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election. Getting rid of Mr Mueller, the senator said, would be a step too far. “If he tried to do that, that would be the beginning of the end of his presidency, because we´re a rule of law nation,” Mr Graham said. ”I think it´s very important he be allowed to do

AN EXPLOSIVE new book has lifted the lid on the extraordinarily pampered life of luxury enjoyed by Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The Prince is accustomed to travelling with his own very specific creature comforts, according to Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles by Tom Bower. The book describes how, before a visit to a friend in North-East England, he despatched his staff ahead a day early with a truck carrying Charles and Camilla’s complete bedrooms, including the Prince’s orthopaedic bed along with his own linen. His staff had also pack a small

As free agency kicked off the start of a new football season, the NFL sent a clear message to anyone paying attention: Colin Kaepernick, you´re still not wanted. Probably not ever. Oh, and while we´re at it, it´s pretty clear the owners have every intention of clamping down on any other players who tries to carry on Kaepernick´s legacy. Rattled by another big dip in the television ratings and an increasing number of empty seats, the league seems determined to banish peaceful protest from the playing field. While it´s quite a stretch to say those trends are intimately related —
