America´s Problem is a Contempt
for Life, Not a Love of Guns

Cybercast News Service, by Craig Bannister

The problem of mass violence in the U.S. is more a reflection of contempt for the sanctity of human life than of a love for gun ownership. In a society that reveres human life, gun ownership isn´t a chronic problem. People who genuinely believe in the sanctity of human life won´t take another life - by gun or any other means - unless it is absolutely necessary. Not so in a society that views human life as subjective and revocable. In a society that condones, funds, and promotes abortion and excuses euthanasia, human life is cheap. When a woman has a

This is utter nonsense.

The shooter was an untreated schizophrenic.

Schizophrenia is a terrible disease affecting mostly young men - - but it can be controlled and ameliorated. With proper treatment and monitoring people with schizophrenia can lead quiet and purposeful lives. Without it - - they can be wild men.

The solution is mandatory treatment for otherwise unsupervised, unattached schizophrenics.

The answer is so simple it is scary that nobody knows it. Restrict the Hollywood Crime School from flooding our children´s brains with murder & violence. For a ten year old to be forced to witness 8,000 murders and 100,000 acts of violence during it´s brief time of life is absolutely sickening. 63% of kiddie shows sell this type of violence also. Two days after the Florida horror, the Black Panther Movie hits your neighbor screen with more excitement than New Year´s Eve. What should one expect, more sign-ups for the priesthood? Youth must be taught early about morality, not the most evil possibilities in life.

Bannister has it precisely correct. Reflecting on friends and acquaintances, writers and thinkers over the years, “liberals” will rarely admit to being “believers” in a God of any kind, intelligent designer or anything similar. They are too smart for that, they think that life and the wondrous existence surrounding us is a matter of chance, or evolution or some such. That is why they approve of abortion, but for some reason, as for this latest murderer, will go to bat to excuse his crime, blaming it on “schizophrenia” or some such, which is poorly and incompletely “treated” at best. Immediate execution of obvious criminals, without years of counseling, legalizing, and soft living, is perhaps the only way to partially stem this. Respect for other’s lives or a sense of wonder at the gift of life and existence can’t be taught. If you do the crime, regardless of your unhappy childhood or some fabricated “mental illness”, punishment as immediate as possible should follow. No excuses.

#3, I will assign your comment to the involuntary ignorance of youth.
We didn´t have this kind of problem when I was growing up, and between Cowboy and Indian, Wild West, and war shows we saw more death than is presented to kids today. On top of that, violence was the main theme of most cartoons.
Much of what we watched is now censored and can´t be shown on TV due to it´s content.
We even ran around with toy guns and publically pretended to kill each other.
By the time we got to high School, we all had real guns, but would never consider using one against another person except in self defense.
Individual moral failings have nothing to do with Hollywood, but living in the society we have today were life, especially the life of the very young and vulnerable, is near worthless can lead to a hollowness and despair that is not easily remedied.

Just to draw a couple conclusions here, the FBI admits they didn´t investigate this kid at all. The excuse ´we couldn´t figure out which Nick Cruz´ is laughable. This isn´t the first time they were told of possible shooters and did nothing.

Conclusion? Much like ´Fast and Furious´, they want these shootings to happen, to turn the public against ´guns´, when these things could have been stopped, but haven´t.

There is some truth to the headline. There are millions of people out there with little or no regard for the people around them. Add in mental illness, likely drug abuse, lawlessness, isolation, and God know hat else, and you end up with Nikolas Cruz.

Don´t blame the gun. Its an inanimate object. Blame the person pulling the trigger. Blame the people who were in a position to prevent this, and did nothing. If Cruz didn´t have access to a gun, it would not be a stretch of the imagination seeing him stealing a truck and mowing people down. The only way to stop what happened was to stop Cruz.

#5: You are right, I am an ignorant youth. Saw my first TV program when I was Twenty-three in the year of our Lord, 1954. Frankenstein was the most violent movie I can remember. No mass murders, no red blood, no rapes just simple cowboys & Indians and cops and robbers. A twenty five cent Saturday movie, five cent candy bar and a smile on everybody face when we walked out. The problem with #10´s idea is that unstable people will not seek help, stable people like me will lie on the questionnaire like I do, and it deprives people of constitutional rights without due process. Turning doctors into government agents is not the answer.

I think the writer is on to something. Since Roe v. Wade the generations born since the early 70´s have effectively been taught that they are not unique and irreplaceable gifts from God but mere "choices", allowed to continue to breathe because their existences satisfied someone else´s selfish emotional need.

Of course many millions of these young people were raised in good homes where they were taught the Truth. But many others were not, and have consequently absorbed the poisonous message which permeates the larger culture. As long as that is the case we will be treated to a continuous supply of confused and inwardly empty young people who will latch on to any harebrained notion, including (in extreme cases) the idea that they can play God if it suits them.

Now on a more practical and immediate level, let´s do what Wayne LaPierre and the NRA suggested in the wake Sandy Hook and put professionally trained armed guards in the schools. Bad guy with a gun, meet good guy with a gun.

A nihilistic worldview most definitely has a huge influence on how we view others and the value we place on anything outside of ourselves.

We live in a nihilistic consumerist society who bases value for everything and everyone in it on how much I can get out of it. Obama was the "Me president" elected by the "Me generation" and their children. The unborn and the elderly are a burden in this worldview instead of a gift as they were for millennia. Obama even said as much about the prospect of his daughters having an unwanted child... "punished with a baby."

Why should it shock us that a young man who probably had been medicated from kindergarten and taught that he was worthless to most of humanity (and remember their is no God in public school) should internalize this and do to humanity what he believed they did to him? Nature or nurture.. probably both but our society shares some of the blame!

Sen. Bill Nelson heads into his re-election bid this year with the backing of the Florida chapter of the International Association of Fire Fighters. Gov. Rick Scott, his Republican opponent, counters with the backing of 55 of his state’s 67 sheriffs and the endorsement of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, which publicly favored a Senate candidate for the first time ever last month. In a state familiar with disasters, whether from man or Mother Nature, public safety officials are prominent figures, so these endorsements could play significant roles. No. But it´s not an unimportant issue, either, and Trump knew the American press is obsessed with it. So he knew it would play a big role in the Trump-Putin post-summit news conference.
