Third White House official resigns
after being told he wouldn’t qualify
for full clearance

Politico, by Andrew Restuccia

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/14/2018 3:17:02 PM

A senior official on the National Economic Council says he resigned on Tuesday after being informed that he would not receive a permanent security clearance, as the White House faces increasing scrutiny over the number of high-ranking officials allowed to work on interim clearances. George David Banks, who had served since February 2017 as special assistant to the president for international energy and environmental policy, told POLITICO that he was informed by the White House counsel’s office Tuesday that his application for a permanent clearance would not be granted over his past marijuana use. Like an estimated three dozen others

Comments:
What is going on here? The timing of these resignations because of security clearance problems sure is odd. It is stunning to me that these clearances have taken so long and makes me wonder of someone at the FBI is slow walking them only to release detrimental information about a member of the Trump team. He didn´t pass the clearance because he smoked marijuana in 2013. Seriously? I wonder how many in the Obama regime were potheads.

It was said Obama was a user and a dealer in college. Probably never used it after that.
Yeah, right. And he was gushed over as president for 8 years and is still being gushed over especially by the media.

#6 is correct about Dollar Bill Clinton´s administration.
He changed the rule on the history drug use to ignore marijuana use entirely, and to set a limit of 50 times using hard drugs (cocaine, heroin) (The 50 times started out much lower, but was increased to the point of 50 so that no one was denied a clearance.)
Who was the White House security chief? Craig livingstone a bartender at a gay club prior to his white house job.
Who hired him? No one would admit to it.
What happened to him? when he was hauled before congress to testify, he pled the 5th, and resigned.

So now you don´t get a security clearance if you´ve used marijuana before? If you tell the truth about it, how can you ever be blackmailed over it? Did anyone in Barry´s administration get a clearance? They even ensured drugs continued to flow into the country via their fast & furious program. What did Barry do? Get rid of the security clearance requirement? It wouldn´t surprise me considering allowing the Butcher to head the State Dept.

Last week, several news outlets obtained financial records showing that Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, had used a shell company to receive payments from various firms with business before the Trump Administration. In the days since, there has been much speculation about who leaked the confidential documents, and the Treasury Department’s inspector general has launched a probe to find the source. That source, a law-enforcement official, is speaking publicly for the first time, to The New Yorker, to explain the motivation: the official had grown alarmed after being unable to find two important reports on Cohen’s financial activity in

Just how lazy is the Senate? If you need just one metric to measure this, consider the following: The Senate has had just one amendment vote this entire year. Many outside observers chalk the Senate’s glacial pace and lack of debate up to polarization and gridlock. But a closer observation reveals that gridlock has little to do with it. Rather, laziness does. I’ve spent the better part of the last year writing about ways in which the Republican Senate wastes time: working 2.5 days a week, engaging in endless quorum calls, and allowing the Democrats to run roughshod over the

Under John Brennan, the CIA operated as an opposition research outfit for the Hillary Clinton campaign. It appears from leaked news stories in the British press that Brennan’s oafish spying on Trump began around April 2016, right after Trump’s biggest primary victories. As it became urgently clear to Brennan that Trump was going to face off against Hillary, Brennan turned to “intelligence partners” in Europe for dirt on Trump.
