Poll: GOP gains on generic ballot,
Trump approval ticks upward

Politico, by Steven Shepard

Republicans have erased the Democratic advantage on the generic congressional ballot in a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll that, for the first time since April, also shows President Donald Trump’s approval rating equaling the percentage of voters who disapprove of his job performance. Fully 39 percent of registered voters say they would support the GOP candidate for Congress in their district, while 38 percent would back the Democratic candidate. Nearly a quarter of voters, 23 percent, are undecided. Voters are split almost evenly along party lines. Democratic voters break for their party, 85 percent to 5 percent, while Republicans similarly favor

I have no confidence in political polls. I don´t believe they are totally impartial or unbiased any more (or ever were- although maybe less so in ancient history). If they say President Trump is doing better, he is probably doing great!

The only kind of polls that may be fairly accurate are ones about the kind of toothpaste you use, and I´m not even sure about that!

Does this really matter? Whether Democrats are marginally favorable in blue states or extremely favorable in blue states makes no difference.

The Demon-RATs only stand for three things:

1) We love illegal aliens.
2) Abortion is sacred and must be paid for by the government.
3) We hate Trump.

Very out of touch with the average American, and getting older by the second. But they seem to honestly believe it is what the average American wants and believes.

So hopefully they will keep on saying it over and over again between now and December!!!

Florida school shooter in custody may offer

The rash of school shootings in the United States over the past two decades has nothing to do with the availability of firearms to youths, as the gun-grabbers claim. American youngsters have always had access to firearms. In fact, in decades previous, guns were much easier to purchase. So, in looking for causes, it makes sense to examine other factors – for instance, the fame bestowed upon shooters by overboard media coverage of their misdeeds. (I am deliberately not using the name of the suspect in custody. He should not get the fame he may have coveted.) Or...maybe we should

Foes of abortion have pushed through several hundred state laws restricting access to the procedure over the past decade. This year, as never before, abortion-rights supporters are fighting back nationwide with proposals to protect and expand access to abortion and contraception. Successes are most likely in the dozen or so states where Democrats control policymaking. But the initiatives unfolding this year aspire to at least raise the issue of reproductive rights even in conservative states that have passed the toughest anti-abortion laws. In January, more than 200 legislators from 41 states formed the Reproductive Freedom Leadership Council to promote "a

Is the “Common Sense Caucus” a triumph of marketing over accuracy? The White House has been very clear on the terms it will accept for granting a path to citizenship for DACA recipients and normalization of the program. They want a border wall and an end to broad family-unification or “chain migration” practices in order to keep the problem from recurring. Donald Trump went so far as to issue a veto threat for anything that doesn’t fully resolve the issue. With time ticking down, yet another bipartisan gang with better branding has offered a deal that falls short of those demands.

White House problems with the Democrat’s “rebuttal memo” on the surveillance of Trump associates are genuine and the document could disclose “sources and methods,” California Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence confirmed. “We need to go through that and identify that which remains classified and would implicate sources and methods or investigative interests,” he said at a newsmaker’s breakfast meeting on Wednesday sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor. His comments constituted a direct rebuke to his party’s top boss in the House of Representatives, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. White House counsel Don

Democrats immediately politicized the Florida school shooting that left at least 17 people dead on Wednesday and demanded gun control legislation, even before it was known how the shooter got his gun and whether any proposed legislation would have stopped it. Some Democrats blamed Republicans for Wednesday’s tragedy, without citing any evidence whatsoever. “Republicans should pray for forgiveness, for not only their complacency and dereliction of duty, but in contrition for the men, women and children we continue to lay to rest because of senseless gun violence and the cowardly inaction from Congress,”

President Trump’s legal team is citing a three-pillar argument to convince investigators, and the public, that President Trump shouldn’t sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Mr. Mueller wants access to the president as part of an inquiry into suspected obstruction of justice in the firing of the special counsel’s longtime friend, FBI Director James B. Comey, in May. The president’s legal team has resisted but not given a firm no. Here are the arguments against an interview. • The White House has given Mr. Mueller unprecedented access to White House documents and people. • There is no stated crime. •
