Tucker Carlson Ends His Show With the
Question ‘Why Do Airports All Show CNN?’

Mediaite, by Josh Feldman

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/13/2018 9:53:23 PM

Have you ever wondered why CNN’s on so many airport TVs? So has Tucker Carlson, and this very serious issue is what he ended his show with tonight in the name of trolling a competitor. Carlson apparently really, really wants to know why, saying it made sense when they had a “centrist reputation” (there was a time, you may remember, when Carlson actually was on CNN) but not when they’ve gone “so far to the left.” And Carlson actually looked into the reason why CNN is in so many airports. You can watch above, via Fox News.

Comments:
This was a real shocker. I never in a million years would have guessed that CNN actually PAYS the airport authorities at airports to run their station. I find that disturbing. CNN pays for the TVs, infrastructure, etc. related to that. That answers the question why only CNN is on at airports. That needs to change! Talk about bribery. That doesn´t explain locations other than airports. Maybe FNC should give them some competition. This is the entire article with video.

Interesting! We just returned from a trip, being in 3 airports leaving and returning. Sitting in the departure lounges, with CNN being forced on us, it was very strange seeing their perspective of all the news stories that we have seen on FNC. We felt like we were in an alternate universe! Which we were!

When CNN is on the TV at the gym, I asked for the TV remote so I can change the station. The man at the desk doesn´t like CNN so I never have a problem getting the remote.

I remember that Salt Lake City had FOX on years ago. I noticed FOX on some TV´s in Milwaukee´s airport. With everyone on their devices, the TV´s are becoming irrelevant anyway.

Are you kidding? USAToday must also pay hotels to drop their scat in the lobbies too. Hotels won´t even leave them at your door in the morning anymore, since it caused too many worker injuries picking them up unread and hauling them to the dumpster.

I watched as WTBS in Atlanta under Ted Turner and later he spun CNN to the shock of ABC/NBC/CBS, and it was awesome in those days. Then the liberals came, and destroyed it entirely.

Sometimes it is the airport authority that gets the "rent" money, and sometimes it is the airline if they control the terminal. This has been the arrangement since CNN first went on air. It was part of their original marketing program; they paid for the wiring and the TV´s and paid a franchise fee. To the airports and the airlines it was a good deal, a service for their waiting customers that cost them nothing. News was suitable for everyone.

If you want this changed start making noise at your local airport and local airline station managers.

Or, while held hostage in the waiting area begin to send spit wads onto the screen and start are rebellion among your fellow passengers. That should get the airport/airline attention.

If you think it is bad in U.S. airports, every hotel in Europe has CNN as the only American channel available. After watching a few weeks of that, I know why most Europeans think Trump is a maniac. CNN was so bad, I started watching the BBC as it was slightly more balanced.

#7, so true! The old style CRT color TV screen mounted precariously from some hidden appendage in the ceiling almost NEVER worked in those days! If it wasn´t broken on the outbound trip, it most certainly would be on the return, as some Terminal drunk would surely heave something at it in a fit of rage. Too dang many cameras around these days to have that bit of airport sport.

No doubt it is so that they can claim all those waiting in the airports are their viewers. Add their total viewers up. I believe it comes to just those in the airports.

When I first started spending time overseas on business a lot, would seek out any American TV that was available in the local area (former soviet states). What a wake up call!

I found CNN and started watching. It is going to be hard for Americans here to believe it, but the international CNN is much farther left than the US CNN version.
I gave up pretty quickly in disgust and just stopped watching TV altogether. I did run into a few really cool Russian military documentaries on local TV, though. Like one detailing the dismantling of a decommissioned Typhoon class nuke sub, great cutaway drawings, disassembly animations and lots of real footage inside and as it was cut apart.

As for news, I moved entirely to the web, and have never looked back. I could get internet access most places, although in some of the extreme far east, the best was to go to a local internet section in the Russian post office and ask for an English keyboard (the cyrillic ones are a real pain!). An American using the Russian postal service internet to get unbiased news inside Russia...
Definitely was a bit surreal.

But way better than watching CNN.

Yep, Dish network is in the tank as well..they are offering a ´flex´ pack now...50 basic channels for like $50...I moved to it to cut my bill from $100 a month and was disgusted to find CNN and MSNBC ´forced´ on me by the ´flex´ pack...FOX was available, but as part of a $10 a month add on pack...

Just be aware you cannot pick ALL your flex channels...

Seems like somewhere I read the channels get a cut of your monthly bill wether or not you watch them.

Providers have been forcing Cable companies to buy bundled packages for a looooong time.
(I call ´em bungled packages)
You want the one channel that has decent ratings, but in order to get it you have to take (and put on your line up) ten more that nobody watches. THAT´s the real reason why there is so much chaff on cable.

#18, not that Dish is biased in favor of CNN and against Fox as nobody will pay for CNN, and people WILL pay for Fox.

Purely a business decision. Dish has to pretend to give you something useful for the baseline cost, but they give you trash that nobody would pay for like CNN and keep back anything that you actually want like Fox, so you can pay more.

Keith Olbermann is expanding his role at ESPN — but it was nearly even bigger. The largest aspect of Olbermann’s expanded role with ESPN is that he will co-host around 20 “SportsCenter” 11 p.m. shows. Olbermann’s rise to national prominence came when he and his partner, Dan Patrick, hosted the program they dubbed “The Big Show.” Sources said ESPN considered offering Olbermann the full-time 6 p.m. “SportsCenter” show, but ultimately decided against it for a variety of reasons, including logistics, as the show will continue in Bristol and Olbermann lives in New York. The 6 p.m. show ultimately went to

Is it unthinkable that the Federal Bureau of Investigation would spy on a presidential campaign for political purposes? I can personally attest that it has happened before—during Barry Goldwater’s 1964 campaign. Every poll agreed that President Lyndon B. Johnson would easily win the election against the conservative Sen. Goldwater of Arizona. But LBJ wanted a landslide so he could implement his Great Society vision without resistance and go down in history as one of America’s greatest presidents. (Snip) Thus was born Johnson’s “Anti-Campaign” to smear Goldwater’s candidacy. The operation was run from the second floor of the West Wing by
