Developer must pay $6.7M for

New York Post, by Emily Saul

A developer has been tagged with a $6.7 million judgment for whitewashing the “formidable” work of 21 graffiti artists on the iconic 5 Pointz warehouse in Queens. Brooklyn federal-court Judge Frederic Block on Monday angrily ordered developer Gerald Wolkoff — who erased about 45 works overnight in the middle of both sides’ court case in 2013 — to cough up the millions. “The shame of it all is that since 5 Pointz was a prominent tourist attraction, the public would undoubtedly have thronged to say its goodbyes during those 10 months and gaze at the formidable works of aerosol art for the

Proof positive that NYC is at the vanguard of art and culture: building slated for demolition is festooned with unsightly graffiti, thus making it a significant landmark.

If you ever doubted that leftism is a serious mental disorder, here it is proven.

That they leave that garbage on everything is sad enough, but now that they seem proud of this trash is just beyond sanity.

"Graffiti art", yeah, right.

But wait! There’s more!

Monday’s decision follows a three-week trial in November in which lawyers for Wolkoff unsuccessfully argued that the graffiti artists should have known better than to paint the site, given its slated fate.

5 Pointz was torn down in 2014, and the land that once housed the famed painted warehouse is now home to two luxury high-rise residential towers.

And from another source, here’s Judge Block:

At 83, Judge Frederic Block sits as a senior jurist in Brooklyn’s federal court and because of his seniority has the right to take it easy.
By law and regulation, senior federal judges — those whose age and years of service add up to 80 — can work while considered semiretired, assuming they are at least 65.
They draw a full pension and need only work judicial duties and cases for three months out of the year. The rest of the time is theirs.
It can be a quiet life.

The total insanity of liberal judges continues. Illegal "art" must be protected, illegal Obama orders must continue to be obeyed etc etc. It is time for judges to be impeached. So many of them seem to think they are above the law and can make the laws.

As France, Germany and Italy chastised President Trump for rejecting the Paris climate accord in June and mocked the U.S. for turning its back on the environment, their nations were busy importing record amounts of American coal. The U.S., federal data show, is seeing something of a coal renaissance, but the boom — partly the result of Mr. Trump’s aggressive policies to roll back Obama-era regulations on the fuel — largely has benefited foreign markets. Some of the biggest buyers are also the biggest critics of the Trump administration’s climate policy, including China and leading European nations that now claim to

Asked in 1972 if he believed in miracles, Billy Graham answered: Yes, Jesus performed some and there are many "miracles around us today, including television and airplanes." Graham was no theologian. Neither was he a prophet. Jesus said "a prophet hath no honor in his own country." Prophets take adversarial stances toward their times, as did the 20th century´s two greatest religious leaders, Martin Luther King and Pope John Paul II. Graham did not. Partly for that reason, his country showered him with honors. So, the subtitle of Grant Wacker´s 2014 book "America´s Pastor: Billy Graham and the Shaping of a Nation"

For the past year, chief executives have often talked about the new sense of moral responsibility that corporations have to help their communities and confront social challenges even when Washington won’t. What if the finance industry — credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express; credit card processors like First Data; and banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — were to effectively set new rules for the sales of guns in America? Collectively, they have more leverage over the gun industry than any lawmaker. And it wouldn’t be hard for them to take a stand.
