Conservative Group Targets
McCaskill, Donnelly on Tax Vote

Roll Call, by Bridget Bowman

The conservative group Americans for Prosperity is launching a multi-million dollar ad campaign Monday aimed at two vulnerable Senate Democrats over their vote against a bill overhauling the tax code. Americans for Prosperity, which is backed by billionaires Charles and David Koch, is dedicating $4 million for television and digital ads targeting Sens. Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Joe Donnelly of Indiana. Both senators are running for re-election in states that President Donald Trump won by wide margins in 2016. “Joe Donnelly and Claire McCaskill promised tax reform for years but chose partisan politics over Indiana and Missouri families when

Good. About time.

In a year where 25 or so Democrats and only about 8 or 10 Republicans are up for election, 10 of those Democrats in states won by Pres. Trump, there is NO REASON why the GOP can´t pick up 5 or 6 seats from the Democrats.

Well, except for the fact that we are talking about the national Republican party establishment, which could screw up a 2 car funeral.

By the way, the math is NOT on our side for the Senate in 2020.

I hope they don´t just limit to these two. There are compost hill full of them.. Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters in Michigan just for starters. USELESS and party-politics only kind of socialist/democrats! Not one thing for the people, only for the big-fat government they support! They need to be defeated and kicked to the curb!

#2. then the conservatives in MI need to get candidates ready NOW to run against them, and support them all the way to the election. It´s never too early to defeat a leftard.

In order to kick McCaskill out, they need to limit the illegal urban voting in STL and KC. Missouri is pretty conservative outside of those two Libtard controlled areas.

U.S. administration officials and Republican senators in Jerusalem for Monday’s inauguration of the new U.S. Embassy hailed President Donald Trump’s decision to move it, as well as his withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, as evidence of renewed American leadership in the Middle East and the world. “By recognizing Jerusalem as the capital on the [election] campaign and making it happen in the first part of his presidency signals to everyone, including the North Koreans, that there’s a new sheriff in town,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (South Carolina), who is leading a delegation of four Republican senators attending

Vermont lawmakers hope a new law that requires single occupancy restrooms be marked gender neutral can serve as a model for the rest of the nation. Republican Gov. Phil Scott signed the bill Friday. The new law, passed with support from Vermont’s three major political parties, is the most recent development in a national debate over whether individuals can be required to use toilet facilities corresponding with the gender on their birth certificate. “Vermont has a well-earned reputation for embracing equality and being inclusive,” Scott said at the bill signing ceremony at the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier.

Washington - Among recent pilgrims to the Arizona ranch of Senator John McCain was Joe Biden. The Republican, who has an aggressive form of brain cancer, urged the former vice-president to “not walk away” from politics, Biden told the New York Times. It did not take much imagination to see this as a metaphorical shove – into the next race for the White House. Biden has the desire, the pedigree – and the rage. On Friday, incensed by reports that a White House aide had dismissed McCain with the terse comment “he’s dying anyway”, the 75-year-old Democrat let rip, declaring

In the Democratic Party’s reckoning following the election of Donald Trump, an unlikely feud has erupted inside an organization at the heart of the progressive movement. Earlier this year, the board of directors of Wellstone Action — an influential training group formed after Sen. Paul Wellstone’s death — dumbfounded Minnesota Democrats when it voted the late senator’s sons off the governing board. (Snip) The issue stands center-stage in Minnesota, where Trump’s steamroller performance in rural America led to a near-disaster for the Democratic Party in 2016. The alleged attack happened Tuesday at John Neely Bryan Elementary School in east Oak Cliff. A teacher reported that a woman accused her of "pinching her nephew" and assaulted her during an 11 a.m. parent-teacher conference, according to the arrest warrant. Lakietha Lashell Lawrence, 27, was arrested by Dallas school district police officers on charges of assaulting a public servant. She was taken to the Dallas County Jail. The startled deer remained still and calm as the alligator walked past them. The clip was shared on the Facebook page of the area´s tourism guide, Eat Sleep Play Beaufort. A Nigerian passenger has filed a civil rights lawsuit alleging that United Airlines personnel ejected her and her children from an international flight departing from Houston in 2016 because of her “pungent” odor. The woman says in a federal discrimination suit filed in Houston Friday that she and her minor children were boarding a San Francisco bound plane — the second leg of a three-flight journey from Nigeria to Canada — when an incident occurred involving a white male passenger that escalated to her being asked by United staff to exit the plane. It´s prom season again: your social media is about to be overrun with pictures of teenagers in formal clothes and giant smiles, maybe evoking "Pretty in Pink" or "Carrie," depending on your high school experience. As a high school teacher, I have a ringside view of the whole event; I see how easily it can change from one person´s celebration to another person´s sorrow. There´s no shortage of ways that proms have been impacted by the same prejudices that mar society at large. Instances of segregation, homophobia, and racism have, for many students, tarnished the occasion. Just recently, Nordstrom Rack apologized to

Mayor Jenny Durkan said Friday afternoon that she cannot support the proposal. The council voted on the proposal as a committee, which means another vote must be taken Monday before the head tax receives final council approval. The latest YouGov/Economist poll (May 6-8), one of a few that comprehensively breaks down support by ethnicity, has some frightening news for the Democratic Party. While President Trump’s approval holds steady among registered voters at 41 percent, his support among blacks in this poll is striking. If it holds for 2020, it could be devastating for Democrats. Among African-Americans, 16 percent approve of Trump, 10 percent are not sure, and 75 percent disapprove. While that sounds highly negative, these are high positives for a Republican politician among black Americans. Approval of 16 percent is 8 points higher than the 8

That outpouring of energy has rippled through elections over the last 16 months, as women have turned out in force to vote — and often to punish the Republican Party. But for Democrats, the process of confronting sexual misconduct in politics has also grown complicated and emotionally fraught. If Mr. Trump’s election ignited this national conflagration, the president himself has largely escaped consequences for his behavior so far. And a number of the politicians exposed as predators

Conservative syndicated columnist George Will wrote this week that Vice President Mike Pence has “become America’s most repulsive public figure.” Why does Will think Pence deserves this absurd slur? Apparently, the columnist has found the vice president guilty of the heinous crime of being a decent man. Will announced in 2016 that he was leaving the Republican Party over the nomination of Donald Trump as the GOP’s presidential candidate. So it is no surprise that Will has become part of the so-called “resistance” to the duly elected president of the United States. He’s even become a contributor to NBC and its

As death flutters around the back-yard deck of Senator John McCain, it’s sad to read reports that the scrappy Sandcutter regrets picking Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate and wishes he had instead picked Senator Jos. Lieberman. The only person diminished by this kind of talk is Senator McCain himself, and the heroic Arizonan deserves better. Not that we lack for love of Mr. Lieberman. The Sun was the first newspaper to sketch the rationale for Mr. McCain to bring in Mr. Lieberman as his running mate. Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, reacted to Mr. Trump’s announcement with a sharp statement.
