Bill Murray: Identity Politics Have Made

Legendary Hollywood actor and comedian Bill Murray praised the GOP tax cuts law, slammed identity politics, and applauded the reckoning against sexual abusers in Hollywood in a CNBC interview. “How can Kristen Wiig make everyone laugh?” Murray asked of the Saturday Night Live star, denouncing an identity politics he said makes being a comedian “harder and harder.” “She’s not thinking about being political, she’s thinking about what resonates and what is common to all of us, and I think that’s harder and harder to do because people are trying to win their point of view as opposed to saying ‘What if I

The left has done this to themselves. They have no sense of humor anymore. Other than Trump attacks, skits and rude jokes about him and his family. The left has become one big immature mean girl club.

Leftist intolerance isn´t just the death of comedy--that´s collateral damage--it´s the death of humanity.

Unlike many of his reflexively and fashionably leftist fellow entertainers, Bill Murray understands libertarian tax principles such as, for instance, that lowering the corporate tax rate to an internationally competitive range (as has been done: from 35% to 21%) will stimulate a lot of business activity, which is to the benefit of all. I don´t remember him being all that political before, and he´s only hinting at his capitalist beliefs here, but I believe I could have a beer with him.

George Orwell is dead and gone, and more than a half-century has passed since he wrote “1984,” but he would recognize America today. He was an Englishman (real name Eric Blair) who understood that no state is immune to human mischief. “Every record has been destroyed or falsified,” he wrote in “1984,” his novel of Utopia despoiled, “every book rewritten, every picture repainted, every statue and street building renamed, every date altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has been stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always

The day after the Roseanne revival premiered to massive ratings, President Donald Trump bragged at a Cleveland rally that the show’s success was because “it was about us.” He’s right, but not in the flattering way he thinks. (snip) It’s easy to miss the show’s uncompromising criticism of Trump because the star, Roseanne Barr, just completed an intensive talk-show publicity tour during which she adamantly proclaimed her support for Trump and touted that her show would articulate the feelings and frustrations of Trump loyalists. To some extent, it fulfills that promise through Barr’s character, Roseanne Conner, the loud but lovable matriarch

According to the insipid press, President Trump has ignited a trade war with China that will bring down both economies. The press is better at presidential election predictions than it is economics. Oblivious to real lives outside the California bubble, the masters of the fanciful, the absurd and the bizarre wouldn’t read the message, anyway. The first revival episode drew more viewers than its farewell finale two decades ago. “While nostalgia was expected to bring in eyeballs,” Deadline Hollywood, an aggregator of entertainment news, breathlessly reported on the morning after, “no one predicted

Prosecutors view someone as a subject when that person has engaged in conduct that is under investigation but there is not sufficient evidence to bring charges. The movie isn’t a hit piece, but the history it tells is infuriating. Chappaquiddick must be counted one of the great untold stories in American political history: The average citizen may be vaguely aware of what happened but probably has little notion of just how contemptible was the behavior of Senator Ted Kennedy. Mainstream book publishers and Hollywood have mostly steered clear of the subject for 48 years. If Chappaquiddick had been released in 1970, it would have ended Kennedy’s political career.
