Commonwealth in secret succession plans
BBC News, by James Landale

The issue is hugely sensitive because the role is not hereditary and will not pass automatically to the Prince of Wales on the Queen´s death. The Commonwealth has set up a "high level group" to look at the way the international organisation is governed. This group is meeting later, officially to review how the Commonwealth is run by its secretariat and governors. It said the issue of the succession of the head of the Commonwealth was not part of the group´s mandate, but described the day-long discussions as "open". However, senior sources added that the gathering in London would also consider what happens when the

The Queen gave up on Prince Charles the wimp a long, long time ago. He´s got a snowball´s chance in hell of making it to the throne after the scandals he brought upon the crown.

Like the adulterous Prince Edward (Queen Victoria´s eldest son), Prince Charles will be King. He might not be King for long considering the long-lived Queen Elizabeth, but he will get his crown following her death. (God help them.) But I doubt very much the British subjects will accept Camilla as Queen Consort. It will be a PR nightmare for the Palace.

Charles will automatically be king. I think that during the waiting period for his coronation (where he will be anointed king) he will abdicate. William and Catherine are popular, Camilla is not.

I am not impressed with Charles. He´s a wimp and an idiot. He takes after his Uncle who abdicated. They would be much better off in the long run with Prince William whose wife has more class in her little finger than that horsey Camilla.

We’ve been watching The Crown on Netflix. If it is at all acurate, and it appears to be, Charles learned his behavior from his father who is and always has been a first class pr!ck.

I’m not crazy about William’s politics but at least he’s not as loony as his father.

It appears that Elizabeth is a pleasant anomaly in the House of Windsor, a sensible, sane, reasonable person who understands both the commoners and her position very well, all in a good balance.

Charles is an idiot on his best days, William may be OK, it isn´t too clear yet.

Royals, pretty much past their "use by date". After Elizabeth, perhaps just cancel the whole thing?

We got entirely past it in 1776, and have been just fine ever since.

This has been known for a long time, about how the Commonwealth can decide if they want to stick with it when the current Monarch passes. This is why she started giving Charles more responsibility to represent her, so that the Commonwealth can get to know him a little better before making their decision in the future.

But I am betting that some are still going to leave once Lillibet does, because the public opinion of Charles as a dim and ignorant fool has been around for a long time. With the trend of elderly monarchs abdicating in favor of their more youthful heirs, I would not be surprised either to see Parliament skip Charles and go right to William when the time comes and they give their opinion to the succession. Especially with his well known sympathies to Islam.

It was announced at the time Charles & Camilla got married that she would not be permitted to be granted the title of "Queen", and would be referred to as "Princess Consort". The same way that Phillip is referred to as Prince Consort.

The British public have still not forgiven him for his treatment of the ´People´s Princess´, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The point of the article is that, although Charles may become ´King of England´, he may never become ´Head of the Commonwealth´.

The Queen may overlook the plain fact that Charles is a lightweight simply because he is her son. But she will not overlook the fact that he disposed of Diana and chose Camille, whom the Brits overwhelmingly despise, including most especially the queen herself.
She may very well decide that the future of the monarchy is not worth the risk of handing it off to a pair quite capable of destroying it.

Prince Charles--- who by the way has a lot more sense than airhead Prince Harry--- should rightfully get the throne, but a better idea would be to abolish the monarchy after the Queen passes. None of her heirs has the sense of duty and responsibility that the Queen has or her parents had. These princelings want the celebrity/rock star lifestyle, let them pay for it out of their own purses.

The Senate Ethics Committee offered a brutal rebuke of New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez on Thursday, accusing the Democrat of providing political favors for a friend in exchange for expensive gifts and vacations. “The Committee concludes that your actions violated Senate Rules and related statutes, and reflected discredit upon the Senate,” reads a bi-partisan letter from the ethics panel’s six members. The committee, with Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson as chair, ordered Menendez to repay the fair market value of gifts he received from his friend, a Florida eye doctor, Salomon Melgen, and to amend his public financial disclosure reports.

In addition to reducing harmful environmental practices, ecosexuals believe that humans should physically make love to the Earth. Jefferson, IA — The city of Jefferson has come up with a solution that involves shooting cats to control the population. There are multiple feral cat colonies in the central Iowa town, and the city claims shooting the animals is its only option. "Cats don´t belong outside," Jefferson City Councilman Matt Wetrich said. "There´s research showing hundreds of millions of birds in the U.S. alone." Wetrich is a naturalist by trade and knows what feral cats do to an ecosystem. But he also knows the attachment so many people have to the furry creatures, which is why he admits the city´s policy of

Here´s one for all the parents out there: Is it OK to let your child eat peanut butter at Target? A mother on a New York parenting blog wrote Monday that while shopping at the store, she gave her four-year-old daughter a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and "a woman stopped me to lecture me about peanut allergies." The child´s mother then asked other moms on UrbanBaby if it was now unacceptable to eat peanut butter in public. If your reaction is of course not, it´s a free country, you are definitely siding with the minority. The anti-peanut butter backlash was swift and brutal.
