Scandal, Corruption, Lawbreaking —
And So What?

National Review Online, by Victor Davis Hanson

The FISA-gate, Clinton emails, and Uranium One scandals are sort of reaching a consensus. Many things quite wrong and illegal were done by both Hillary Clinton and her entourage and members of the Obama agencies and administration — both the acts themselves and the cover-ups and omissions that ensued. Remember, in the FISA-gate scandal such likely widespread criminal behavior was predicated on two premises: 1) certainty of an easy Clinton victory, after which the miscreants would be not only excused but probably rewarded for their zeal; 2) progressive hubris in which our supposedly moral betters felt it their right,

It doesn´t help that "respected" U.S. Senators ...elected... like Warner and McCain are also involved in trying to end the Presidency of President Trump by aiding the breaking of U.S. laws. They get cover from the Senatorial colleagues .. their friends.. like my own Senators Collins and King who then are also implicated in the attempted overthrow of a lawfully elected President. It´s sad and infuriating at the same time.

Bravo Dr. Hanso!! Once again he nails it. This whole thing is so large that if no one is prosecuted for the major crimes committed then future administrations will have free will to weaponize any and all federal agencies against their opposition.

We would be well on our way to becoming a third world dictatorship and will soon have a president for life.

"Accepting any of these obfuscations would be a grave mistake."

I don´t know if we will get to conviction and jail time but this was a major CONSPIRACY. The public may shrug their shoulders about one politician shoveling dirt on another, no matter how nasty they were about it.

However, those same politicians utilizing the federal government and media to facilitate their actions crosses a very BIG, very RED line. If it isn´t illegal, it should be.

If nothing else, the political operations of the dems and the Clintoon campaign need to be exposed, names named, and charges specified. Ethical and moral violations as well. All things Clintoon should be excoriated. No hang dog apologies accepted. Hillary and BJ should come out of this as pariahs if not convicted criminals. If there are pleas, they should be with ADMISSIONS of guilt and bans from government participation and access.

No one in the FBI, DOJ, intelligence, State, or any other government agency that had a knowing part in this should EVER work for the federal government again. No consulting, no interaction as part of a company, no nothing. Make permanent banishment part of a plea deal or freedom from prosecution.

Mueller should review his investigation and probably conclude that it is hopelessly tainted by corruption. He should name names and recommend for prosecutions. He should drop all ongoing prosecutions and rescind already entered pleas. He should sum up that, at this point there is NO evidence for Trump Russian collusion. Period. He should apologize to Trump for this abuse of prosecutorial power.

Mueller SHOULD be embarrassed and angry that he has been used like this. We will see if he really is an honorable man.

Still, Democrats at some point will see that what they thought was the formerly defensible is now becoming absolutely indefensible

Oh no, VDH, YOU have a purple unicorn too? Because Democrats will NEVER EVER do that.

What is needed? Attorney General Sessions must find muscular, ambitious, and combative prosecutors (preferably from outside Washington, D.C., and preferably existing federal attorneys), direct them to call a Grand Jury, and begin collating information from congressional investigations to get to the bottom of what is likely one of gravest scandals in post-war American history: the effort to use the federal government to thwart the candidacy of an unpopular presidential candidate and then to smear and ruin his early tenure as president.

I totally agree but that will happen when the space shuttle lands safely in my driveway and I win Powerball five times in a row without ever buying a ticket.

The nasty habit of Leftists accusing innocent Conservatives of crimes which they are, themselves, knee deep in is too obvious....too repetitive....too clear to everyone. While Mssr. Trump may (or may not) be faultless and slippery and clean......his defenders must fear for their own closeted skeletons because NOTHING EVER HAPPENS to the bad guys in this long boring opera.

I used to write and post every damn day around here but now I´m down to once a month......am I the only one who feels "Punked" by the system ?

Three cheers for Preezy Trump but I´ll be playing golf and fishing until Obama and Felonia von Pantsuit are shaking the cold hard steel partitions at the grey bar hotel.

The Left is proudly A-moral and will continue it´s crimes against LIBERTY until confronted with the firing squad.

The suspected serial bomber who killed two people and terrorized Austin, Texas for three harrowing weeks was killed in a dramatic confrontation with police overnight Wednesday, authorities said. The operation was aided by different uses of technology, including surveillance cameras and cell phone triangulation. The suspect, who has been identified as 24-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt, was killed near the motel he was traced to thanks to surveillance footage from a Federal Express drop-off store, The Austin American-Stateman reported. The authorities were able to gather information after police noticed the subject

A man whom authorities were attempting to arrest early Wednesday in a string of bombing attacks in Austin killed himself with an explosive device as authorities closed in, a high-ranking law enforcement official told the American-Statesman early today. The official said authorities identified a suspect in the past 24 hours based largely on information gained after police said the suspect shipped an explosive device from a FedEx store in Southwest Austin. That evidence included security video. Authorities also relied upon store receipts showing suspicious transactions from the person and obtained a search warrant for his Google search history that showed him conducting

It was the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky who coined the phrase the “dustbin of history.” To his political opponents, he sputtered, “You are pitiful, isolated individuals! You are bankrupts. Your role is played out. Go where you belong from now on — into the dustbin of history!” It is no coincidence that John Brennan, who supported the Soviet-controlled American Communist Party in the 1970s (he has acknowledged that he thought his vote for its presidential candidate Gus Hall threatened his prospects at the CIA; unfortunately, it didn’t), would borrow from Trotsky’s rhetoric in his fulminations against Donald Trump. Liberals love the First Amendment’s “freedom of speech” clause. They rightly remember their forerunners—liberal journalists, civil rights activists, religious and political dissidents—and venerate the constitutional right that eventually vindicated these brave citizens. Yet it’s striking how often today’s most flagrant desecrations of free-speech rights are perpetrated not by right-wing rubes in Southern school districts but by highly-educated and allegedly forward-thinking liberal elites. Consider NIFLA v. Becerra, the case that came before the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday. The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, a pro-life group, brought the suit in response to a California law called the FACT Act. The

President Trump says he didn´t collude with Russia in 2016, promising something to a foreign country in exchange for his installation as president. That seems increasingly likely to prove true. Where they do not spring from simple malignancy, critics’ arguments that Trump used Russian intervention to win the election are mostly an excuse to avoid the plain truth that Hillary Clinton deservedly lost because she was an awful candidate. And the country is better for that result. We aren’t persuaded, either, that the Russians’ paltry $100,000 in Facebook spending had anything to do with Trump’s win, given that very little of it

It’s not objectively measured, and that’s important.” Pruitt will reverse long-standing EPA policy allowing regulators to rely on non-public scientific data in crafting rules. Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller is authorized to investigate "any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump." The popular word for that is collusion, and it remains at the heart of both the Mueller and the Senate Intelligence Committee investigations. (Majority Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee recently announced they were unable to find evidence proving collusion.) While much about the Mueller investigation remains unknown, we do know the indictments he has filed and the pleas he has reached with various figures in the case. The letdown of the loss, of an office and of a husband, unleashed psychological torment. The latter copes by donning her bridal gown; the former, by periodically playing pundit pontificating on why a benighted electorate rejected her. Both characters exude a Dickensian quality in that they come across as such, well, characters. Around the time she tripped over her feet in India last weekend Mrs. Clinton tripped over her words. So when he says there was a plot to protect Hillary Clinton from prosecution and to illegally influence the 2016 Election people should pay attention. Kallstrom goes on to call the entirety of the FBI investigation against Donald Trump completely phony. Maria Bartiromo’s own take appears very much to compliment Mr. Kallstrom’s assertions.
