Report: CNN to Lay Off up to 50 Employees
After Missing Revenue Targets

Joe Pompeo writes at Vanity Fair that CNN, led by its president Jeff Zucker, will soon lay off dozens of employees — mostly from “several high-profile digital initiatives” — after the left-wing news network failed to reach revenue targets. From Vanity Fair:[D]espite the so-called Trump Bump, CNN appears to be re-thinking at least some elements of its digital strategy. I’ve learned that CNN, a key property in AT&T’s planned takeover of CNN’s parent company, Time Warner, is targeting big savings on the digital side, with as many as 50 jobs around the globe scheduled to be eliminated this week, according to

Why didn’t CNN just claim that they exceeded all of their revenue targets? It has no problem with making up negative stories about Trump so why not create false positive stories about itself? Besides, the majority of CNN’s audience are rushing for planes at airports so they wouldn’t have time to tell the difference between fake good results and actual bad results.

To #4´s point about being able to totally ignore CNN, unfortunately, they remain a default choice for many TVs in airports, gyms, waiting rooms, etc.

I would certainly cheer their demise and the professional career of Jeff Zucker, too.

But this will require CNN to change their usual 6 liberals to 1 conservative ratio to 8 to 1. And the 1 will be optional.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear whether California is violating free speech rights by forcing anti-abortion pregnancy centers to post information about the availability of state-funded abortions. A decision is expected by the end of June and could trigger legal changes in other states, such as similar laws in Hawaii and Illinois. Depending on the outcome, reproductive rights advocates may seek to overturn anti-abortion laws that require doctors to tell women that abortions lead to mental health problems or breast cancer, disclosures that abortion advocates say are false. First there was the casual sexism: the reason white women didn’t back her when she ran for president, Hillary Clinton believes, is “a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.” Have you noticed that her sneering always seems to take the same form? AN EXPLOSIVE new book has lifted the lid on the extraordinarily pampered life of luxury enjoyed by Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The Prince is accustomed to travelling with his own very specific creature comforts, according to Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles by Tom Bower. The book describes how, before a visit to a friend in North-East England, he despatched his staff ahead a day early with a truck carrying Charles and Camilla’s complete bedrooms, including the Prince’s orthopaedic bed along with his own linen.
