That was quick.

IMO these market "corrections" are intended to:

* Allow market value to seek a more realistic level
* Enrich the elites by separating the rubes (who succumbed to the temptation of the runup) from their money.
* Sometimes inflict political damage on a sitting Administration

Even crashes rebound within a few months, if the rubes will only hold tight. The infamous 1987 "Black Monday" crash recovered to pre-runup and crash levels the following year. Even the 1929 "Black Tuesday" crash did likewise in 1930.

Both the "Great Depression" of the 1930s and "Great Recession" of the 2008 Bush 43 Administration were exacerbated by government intervention intended to "help".

The moral is: don´t day trade or speculate unless you know what you are doing, have the time to "ride" your computer every hour, have the stomach to withstand these fluctuations and corrections ..

.. and the discipline to buy low, sell high.

Otherwise stick to a safer, long-term approach.

That is what happens when you have a robust business environment such as the one President Trump has created in this country. Stock markets can not help but boom.

A military analyst has criticised EU leaders for failing to accept that “the Western world is at war” and warned that Europe will see worse terror attacks committed by Islamic extremists. “Most politicians do not want to admit that the Western world is at war and should act accordingly… Policy responses are, in most cases, inadequate,” Lukáš Visingr told Czech news channel CT24. Mr. Visginr added that the recent period of calm – following the spate of Islamic extremist-inspired terror attacks that included the London Bridge, Manchester, Champs Elysees, Paris, and Barcelona attacks during the summer of 2017 – should not be

Venezuela´s main source of cash is dwindling at a breathtaking pace. The country´s oil output in January fell to its lowest level in nearly 30 years, not including a brief oil strike in 2003, according to S&P Global Platts. A monthly OPEC report published Monday revealed Venezuela pumped 1.6 million barrels of oil per day last month. Production in January was down 20% from a year ago. The staggering decline is another sign of Venezuela´s economic and political crisis. The country is heading toward a presidential election in April that international critics are already labeling fraudulent. Venezuela has more crude oil than any other

Some Democrats blamed Republicans for Wednesday’s tragedy, without citing any evidence whatsoever. “Republicans should pray for forgiveness, for not only their complacency and dereliction of duty, but in contrition for the men, women and children we continue to lay to rest because of senseless gun violence and the cowardly inaction from Congress,”
