Democrats’ Memo Won’t

Power Line, by John Hinderaker

The Associated Press reported a few minutes ago: “Trump won’t declassify Democratic memo on Russia probe.” The article doesn’t live up to the headline. (Snip) McGhan’s letter, which is entirely reasonable, is here. No doubt the Democrats’ memo will be released before long. What is most notable about the AP’s story is the pro-Democrat spin it applies to the facts. The president’s rejection of the Democratic memo is in contrast to his enthusiastic embrace of releasing the Republican document, which he pledged before reading to make public. The president declassified the document last week, allowing its publication in full. President Trump declassified

There was nothing in the Republican memo that met the criteria for Top Secret, exposure leads to grave damage to the nation. Furthermore, one of the criteria for NOT classifying a document is the secrecy only hides embarrassing facts, rather than protecting the national interest.

We knew this would happen. We talked about it for days. The memo was a trap for President Trump, but assuming President Trump was smarter than that, the democrats planned on liberal media to help them push the narrative that Trump was hiding something.

See? We are even smarter than the democrats! We had them figured out from the start!

It appears that the modus operandi of the MSM is to lie about the GOP´s memo, ad nauseam, then leave it to our side to clean up the mess, wasting too much time in the process. Nice strategy and very effective. We spend beaucoup hours and days rebutting lies about ourselves while the BS machine keeps cranking along. Sickening.

The game was obvious- lace their memo with stuff Trump could not release and then whine about how unfair Trump is when he refuses to release it. Duh! You do not need a degree in under water basket weaving to figure out what the Dems were trying for. Now that the ploy did not work, and Trump threw it back in their faces, their memo has no importance anymore- It will die on someone´s shredder pile.

CLEARWATER — At a recent City Council election debate, the first question pitched to the four candidates was: What is the biggest problem facing Clearwater right now? Seat 5 incumbent Hoyt Hamilton answered in code. "I’m willing to work with anybody, but they have to be open and honest in how they communicate and we haven’t always had that, so I think one of the biggest problems trying to move Clearwater forward is getting people to communicate openly and honestly with what we’re trying to do." Wait. Who is "they"? Which people are not being honest? Asked in a later interview if he was

The death by airstrike of a large number of Russian "mercenary troops" allegedly attacking a US backed position in Syria is reminder that hybrid/proxy/low-intensity conflict is not without risk. The New York Times described the scale of the incident. "Aleksandr Ionov, a Russian businessman working in Syria offering security and other services ... estimated after conversations with associates in several private military organizations that more than 200 Russians might have been killed. ... not all those killed were Russian: Some of the paid fighters came from other countries that were once part of the Soviet Union."

In that vein, this Jew would like to defend evangelicals and other Christians who support President Donald Trump. They are regularly attacked as religious hypocrites who give Christianity in general, and evangelical Christianity in particular, a bad name. The people writing such things are often Christians, including evangelicals. Special prosecutor counsel Bob Mueller has one significant scalp on the wall: that of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who pled guilty to one count of lying to the FBI and has yet to be sentenced. But, in a brilliant column, Byron York reviews the sequence of events as we have tortuously come to know them. Based on what we now know (or think we know), it is highly doubtful whether Flynn did anything wrong at all. It is a given that there was nothing wrong with Flynn’s talking to the Russian ambassador, or discussing sanctions with him. As the

Nevertheless, most companies, universities, etc., were cowed into complying with Obama’s “guidances.” Glenn Reynolds offers the definitive commentary: Good. “Guidance” is bullshit. Either do a rule making, or stay home. Rule making under the Administrative Procedure Act requires following an actual process, with public comment and opportunity for appeal. Thus it is inconvenient for leftists. Issuing “guidance” is an inappropriate

Democrats immediately politicized the Florida school shooting that left at least 17 people dead on Wednesday and demanded gun control legislation, even before it was known how the shooter got his gun and whether any proposed legislation would have stopped it. Some Democrats blamed Republicans for Wednesday’s tragedy, without citing any evidence whatsoever. “Republicans should pray for forgiveness, for not only their complacency and dereliction of duty, but in contrition for the men, women and children we continue to lay to rest because of senseless gun violence and the cowardly inaction from Congress,”

President Trump’s legal team is citing a three-pillar argument to convince investigators, and the public, that President Trump shouldn’t sit down for an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller. Mr. Mueller wants access to the president as part of an inquiry into suspected obstruction of justice in the firing of the special counsel’s longtime friend, FBI Director James B. Comey, in May. The president’s legal team has resisted but not given a firm no. Here are the arguments against an interview. • The White House has given Mr. Mueller unprecedented access to White House documents and people. • There is no stated crime. •
