Mass refugee exodus prompts new
border controls – in Brazil and Colombia

American Thinker, by Monica Showalter

Original Article

A border rush? Of refugees? From violence? Like what we had with the Central American "unaccompanied minors" crisis of 2014? Nope, it´s someplace else – Colombia and Brazil, which just announced the clampdown on their borders with restricted cards, punishments for illegals, and thousands more border guards, to keep unchecked illegal immigration under control, as thousands and thousands of Venezuelans flee their hellish homeland. According to Reuters: Colombia and Brazil tightened border controls with Venezuela on Thursday as both nations grapple with a mounting influx of hundreds of thousands of desperate migrants fleeing a worsening economic crisis.

Bet we´re not gonna see them signing any more Friend of the Court petitions to condemn Arizona.

FTA: He (Columbian president Santos) said Colombia was spending millions of dollars to support the migrants.

This cannot be true because when refugees come to the USA, they do jobs Americans won´t, pay taxes, and have an overall positive impact on the American economy. /sar

But, I thought Socialism was the Utopia creator. Isn´t it funny how throughout the entire history of humans on this planet, not one single example exists of a grand socialist Utopia. they all turn into massive cesspools of human misery. Yet, here we have thousands of idiot Americans drooling over the likes of Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, "Poka-hauntus" Warren, Schumer and "Nana" Pelosi. All self avowed socialists or closet socialist.

Exactly, #4. If these "hundreds of thousands" would rush the capital and take the guns away from the police and the army, they could fix their own problem. Their dictator could then be forced to wish for a death as easy as Mussolini had.

Funny how those countries can crack down hard and the US is condemned, chastised and ridiculed for even mentioning it. It is proof from Mexico on down they have little to no regard for American sovereignty, that the US is like Israel to their Palestine.

With all of the cracking down it is going to leave those Venezuelans one direction, north, this mass exodus is a prelude for the US I am afraid.

More socialism: Deadbeat
Venezuela evicted from its

Call it the wages of socialism: Venezuela´s consulate has been evicted for non-payment of its rent since August. What a pretty picture. Seems dirt poor Haiti has no problem maintaining a consulate in Miami, nor wretched Belarus, nor tiny Antigua & Barbuda. Other countries, such as the Gambia, Singapore, Liberia, and Switzerland maintain honorary consulates, usually because their need for one in Miami is minimal but necessary, and they know how to keep costs down. Well, not Venezuela, whose Florida consulate serves more than 102,000 of its nationals, most of whom fled the Chavista socialist horror show, and which has just been

I am sure there is nothing at all suspicious when the then-speaker of the House managed to triple her (and her husband Paul´s) estimated net worth in the period of a global financial crisis, when the federal government was deciding whom to bail out and whom to let go bankrupt, and where to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on "stimulus." Doug Ross of Director Blue noticed the stunning investment success of the San Francisco couple, drawing on information from Open Secrets, run by the Center for Responsive Politics.

A documentary about a Syrian refugee in Germany, who happily lives on state handouts with his two wives and six kids, has angered many in the country where polygamy is against the law. The Spiegel TV film was aired over the weekend, telling the story of 32-year-old Ahmad A. who fled the fighting in Syria’s Aleppo back in 2015 with his large family, and found a safe haven in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. The man lives in a two-story house provided by the community with two wives and six children. Despite polygamy being illegal in Germany, Ahmad was allowed to bring his second

Moms are embarrassing, even when they’re Oscar-winning legends. But Sally Field has succeeded in getting her single son in contact with the Olympics’ breakout star Adam Rippon. Page Six has exclusively learned that Field’s son has reached out personally to figure skating darling Rippon to apologize for his mom’s awkward attempts to set them up on a date. On Friday, filmmaker Sam Greisman tweeted a text conversation between him and Field in which his doting mom encouraged him to “find a way” to ask the scene-stealing skater out on a date, with Field telling her son of Rippon, “Sam . .

All those good things, and somehow President Trump has nothing to do with them. This new poll, put out by a couple of political science

I have always prided myself on being an amateur historian, knowing far more than most people. So you can imagine my surprise when I found out, about ten years ago, that I knew nothing about one of the most important battles in world history, whose ramifications echo down to this day. This is the Battle of Cartagena de los Indias, fought between the Spanish and British empires off the coast of present-day Colombia in 1741. It was part of the War of Jenkin´s Ear, a war where Britain´s ultimate aim was to break the Spanish empire and impose a British hegemony

For the past year, chief executives have often talked about the new sense of moral responsibility that corporations have to help their communities and confront social challenges even when Washington won’t. What if the finance industry — credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express; credit card processors like First Data; and banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo — were to effectively set new rules for the sales of guns in America? Collectively, they have more leverage over the gun industry than any lawmaker. And it wouldn’t be hard for them to take a stand.

John Kasich’s inner circle is gearing up for a possible presidential run in 2020 — actively weighing the prospect of a Republican primary challenge to President Donald Trump against the feasibility of a long-shot general election campaign as an independent. And there’s one consideration driving their thinking perhaps more than any other: what some of his advisers consider the very real, maybe even likely, possibility that Trump doesn’t run again — by choice or not — or that the president becomes so politically hobbled by late next year that the political landscape fundamentally shifts in Kasich’s favor. That’s one reason
