CNN hires Comey fanboy to “defend” FBI
Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Scott says James Comey may be the least self-aware man in America. I agree. Comey is a legend in his own mind. Comey is also a legend in the mind of Josh Campbell, his former special assistant at the FBI. In an op-ed for USA Today, Campbell called his former boss “a giant of a man with an even bigger heart, whose focus was always on trying to understand and improve the lives of others.” Campbell also wrote an op-ed for the New York Times in which he stated he was leaving the FBI because of “relentless attacks on the bureau.” Campbell also wrote an op-ed for the New York Times in which he stated he was leaving the

Is Campbell a part time figure skater?

FTA: CNN hired Campbell to bolster its roster of Trump haters. He is there to defend Trump’s FBI enemies, especially Comey.

Amazing it is that CNN, an alleged news organization, its folded hands between its knees in supplication to the devil, has abandoned all pretense of objectivity in its gut-straining, eye-popping exertions to fatally wound the presidency of Donald Trump someway, anyway.

It would be honest if CNN would just formally declare that they as an organization exist to aid the political fortunes of Democrats and other political oddballs and malcontents, and just leave it at that.

The only time I have voluntarily watched CNN in recent years was Election Night after several essential early states (Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania) went for Trump, and a smile began creeping all the way across my face in both directions, like Seuss´s Grinch ... a wrap around smile prefatory to the three days of nearly fatal guffaws. Switching mischievously from Fox to CNN, I changed channels to see emotion. I wanted to see tears; I wanted to see pain; I wanted to see the gnashing of teeth; I wanted to see visages as hard as marble before they melted into pools of disconsolation. I was not disappointed. Over on CNN, their suffering was almost human, very real looking.

Well he certainly tried to improve the life of one Hillary Rodham Clinton. Unfortunately that didn´t work out for her.

I concur, #2. The look on Wolf Blitzer´s face when we started to paint the big screen red was priceless. It more than made up for his facial orgasm when the Kenyan won in 2008.

Palestinian Authority: We Have

The *international community* considers the Palestinian Authority to be Israel’s “peace partner.” Or used to, anyway. Unfortunately, the facts keep getting in the way. The Palestinian Authority has long paid bounties to the families of terrorists who murder Israelis. Israel has been trying to deal with this incitement to mass murder for quite a while. Recently, Israel passed a law under which amounts paid by the PA to the families of convicted and deceased terrorists will be deducted from tax collections remitted by Israel to the PA. Seems reasonable. But in this video, Hassan abd Rabbo, Spokesman for the PLO Commission of

That’s the same body that publicly grilled Peter Strzok, with whom Page exchanged venomous texts about Donald Trump. By all accounts, Page was a cooperative witness. Rep. Mark Meadows, head of the House Freedom Caucus, called Page “credible.” “There is new information,” he said, “and that information is credible.” Rep. Louis Gohmert, also of the Freedom Caucus agreed that Page “has given us more insights to who was involved in what.” FBI lawyers instructed Strzok not to answer a goodly number of questions

President Trump offended the entire political spectrum with a tweet this morning blaming the U.S. for poor relations with Russia. “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity,” the president said, and he is entirely correct. By this I do not mean to say that Russia is a beneficent actor in world affairs or that President Putin is an admirable world leader. Nonetheless, the president displayed both perspicacity and political courage when he pointed the finger at the United States for mismanaging the relationship with Russia. LOS ANGELES — Officials say a man accused of attacking his wife with a chainsaw in front of their children at their Los Angeles-area home had been deported from the U.S. 11 times. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Lori Haley says 32-year-old Alejandro Alvarez-Villegas is a “serial immigration violator.” Alvarez-Villegas was arrested on Thursday in a stolen vehicle in Chula Vista, a few miles from the Mexican border. Police said Alvarez-Villegas is suspected of attacking his wife at their Whittier home, leaving her covered in blood. She is expected to recover. It was not immediately clear if

At some point the populist rebellion will outgrow its personality roots and be asked to articulate a program. It is never enough in the long run to merely be against something; it is always necessary to be for something. Inside the chaos of the last decade a few themes have appeared to risen above the bedlam. The following is an attempt to speculatively predict these trends in the knowledge the estimate may be completely wrong. The basic premise is the populist crisis has been created by the 21st century itself. As the post World War 2 order aged the existing elites simply evaded the question of quo vadis secure in the belief they were

Bannon had been touring Europe as an observer and was in a way the natural person to ask. The resulting exchange is an entertaining, even enlightening exposition of Bannon´s interpretation of recent events -- but is his analysis correct? Is the reporter´s vague notion of populism as a regressive international conspiracy to revive the nation state or an atavistic return of the worst impulses of the 1930s spot on? Or is Steve Bannon correct in defining populism as largely a

Thus, former Communist and CIA Director John Brennan tweeted earlier today: (Snip, Brennan tweet) This is simply insane. Other Democrats, not going as far as Brennan, say that Trump “gave away the store,” or made inappropriate concessions to President Putin. But there is no evidence that Trump gave anything away in his meeting with Putin, or made any concessions. Putin certainly didn’t suggest that he did, for example with respect to Crimea, about which Democrats expressed concern in advance of the meeting:

Although Germany´s entire defense budget is $42 billion, it is as Donald Trump provocatively observed, only twice as much -- approximately $21 billion -- as it pays to Russia in gas purchases. The facts are stark. "About 35% of Germany’s gas is imported from Russia, and fracking is banned at least until 2021. A former Chancellor of Germany sits on the Gazprom board." At a time when Putin is the international bad guy it´s disturbingly hard to deny that much of his bankroll originates in Europe. Merkel is certainly intellectually aware of the facts.
