L.A. Mayor ‘Not Scared At All’ of Being
Arrested for Sanctuary City Status

WASHINGTON – Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said he is “not scared at all” about the Department of Justice considering charges against local officials in sanctuary cities, calling it a “weak and pathetic move.” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen recently told a Senate committee hearing that DOJ is “reviewing what avenues might be available” to charge local officials who do not fully cooperate with federal immigration authorities. “The context of this is, of course, not only putting my [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] officers at risk, but also finding an efficient and effective way to enforce our

Garcetti is not getting great reviews on his home turf. He really is such a weak sister, and an obviously upwardly mobile one, with eyes on the presidency…..which is to laugh.

Right now he’s trying to figure out what to do about the bike path lawsuits. They decided everyone should be on a bike and spent a lot of money chopping bits off the already crowded streets to allow for the bicyclists to have a safe lane. Never ones to stay in lanes, the cyclists have found pavement raised by tree roots, potholes and other things to toss them on their necks (one 62 year old ended up a quadriplegic) and their keisters. Tens of millions in lawsuit settlements. To date.

Many in this area (we mercifully do not live in Los Angeles) would love to see him frogmarched off...

He can talk tough, he is not at risk of arrest.
Those doing his dirty work for him are the ones at risk.
When the risk of being arrested and charged becomes credible the Unions will have no choice other than to change sides or face open revolt by government employees.
The first arrested will be made a hero, he second mentioned, the rest forgotten.
Hopefully they are smart enough to arrest several of them at once so there is no hero to rally around.

Unfortunately for the mayor he is on the wrong side of the Constitution. People who committed treason a few hundred years ago were hanged without fanfare. How ironic that many California cities once were oppressed by hispanic governments and now are welcoming the resurgence of the same thing. Once the immigrants become the majority voting bloc, the people who built those cities are out of luck. I guess they don´t include that lesson in the history books any longer.

That might get the attention of the rest of them.
Of course, the fault lies with the scofflaws who elected them.

Asha Rangappa, a former FBI agent, argues that the FBI didn’t spy on the Trump campaign (or use an informant, as she delicately puts it) to go after Donald Trump. Rather, it did so to protect him. Rangappa argues that the FBI should have investigated alleged Russian infiltration of the Trump campaign aggressively and directly, given the gravity of this threat. However, she continues, it elected to investigate quietly through an informant in order to avoid casting public suspicion on the campaign and to thereby avoid injuring Trump. It’s a creative argument but there are a few problems. First, it assumes, in

It´s still Sigmund Freud´s world. The rest of us are imprisoned in it. The whole intellectual apparatus behind political correctness, micro-aggression theory, totalitarian campus speech codes, the #metoo obsession with sexual mistreatment--all of it begins with Freud. Frederick Crews´ new book Freud: The Making of an Illusion shreds the reputation of the founder of psychoanalysis. It´s a detective story worthy of the ages and a terrific read, but more importantly, it´s a corrective to reigning liberal ideology. You can´t understand liberalism unless you know Freud, and you can´t appreciate what a tissue of lies and half-truths

One of the more notable differences between Watergate and the metastasizing scandals involving the FBI, our intelligence agencies, and the Obama administration -- subjects of the soon-to-be-released inspector general´s report -- is that the media exposed Watergate. They aided and abetted the current transgressions. By providing a willing and virtually unquestioned repository for every anonymous leaker (as long as he or she was on the "right" side) in Washington and beyond, the press has evolved from being part of the solution to being a major part of the problem. Gone are the days of the true "whistle-blower."

A student at Santa Fe High School in Texas killed ten people today and wounded ten more, according to reports. The attacker used two guns — a shotgun and a .38 revolver. Both were owned legally by his father, according to the same reports. One of the wounded was a retired police officer hired by the school as a “resources officer.” He confronted the killer, who shot him. Another resources officer also engaged the killer. This occurred early on and is thought to have limited the bloodshed. I believe armed school personnel are the key to ending the rash of school shootings because their ability to thwart shooters will deter these losers from

It is only through ignorance or suppression of the truth that anyone can believe in the leftist worldview, a kind of bad morality play that would be merely amusing were it not so influential. Of this feminism is a representative example. Motivated by status envy, which is a reflection of human nature’s difficult need for esteem, feminists have a perverse conception of history. It never seems to occur to them that men no more chose their greater physical strength and, yes, greater ability to engage in abstract thought at the highest level than women chose to be mothers, with all the grueling burdens that accompany that fate.

There are a number of ways. Here’s one: If people living in the country want to be on a government’s enemies list, the government is not authoritarian. No one within the jurisdiction of an authoritarian government wants to be on its enemies list. Being on such a list isn’t healthy. One can easily end up in jail, go missing, or even be assassinated. Under non-authoritarian governments, being on an enemies list can be a source of status. It enables one to preen — to virtue-signal — without paying a price. Richard Nixon had an enemies list. Washington liberals wanted to be on it. Prominent liberals not on the list were peeved.

Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.
