Merit-based migration

The White House has listed a phenomenal 15 Jihadis who have been caught in acts of terrorism against the U.S., all because they were let in based on winning diversity lottery slots, or were able to take advantage of chain migration privileges. Breitbart News writes: The February 2 list of jihadis includes a senior leader in the Islamic counter-attack against personal freedom, Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook. He is an “alleged United States Hamas leader [who] received his green card through a predecessor program to the visa lottery,” said the statement. “Marzook was deported in 1997 for terrorist activities.” The White House uses these

DACA coddling upsets other illegals

If rule-of-law advocates are seen as a divided bunch and President Trump himself seems a bit squishy on what kind of bill he will sign to end illegal immigration, it´s worth noting that over on the left, the open-borders lobby, and the garden-variety illegals in particular, are pretty much at each others´ throats over the coddling that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients are getting. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune: “I’m very bitter. These DACA kids definitely have this sense of entitlement,” Paredes said. “People fought for them and they got DACA and they got their work permit and then they

Funny how the Olympic athletes who managed not to insult and offend us by their loudmouth anti-Trump grandstanding before the games seem to be the only ones who either win big medals or else win our hearts anyway. Who wasn´t delighted by Chloe Kim with her snowboarding virtuosity along with her delightful, vibrant, bubbly, teenager personality? [Snip] Then there were the bad sports, the attention-seekers, and worst of all, the anti-Trump loudmouths, who insulted us all with their anti-Trump remarks before they have even competed to show us what they could do in the 2018 Olympics.

I have always prided myself on being an amateur historian, knowing far more than most people. So you can imagine my surprise when I found out, about ten years ago, that I knew nothing about one of the most important battles in world history, whose ramifications echo down to this day. This is the Battle of Cartagena de los Indias, fought between the Spanish and British empires off the coast of present-day Colombia in 1741. It was part of the War of Jenkin´s Ear, a war where Britain´s ultimate aim was to break the Spanish empire and impose a British hegemony

The stock market apparently has decided that the indictments of Russians announced yesterday is good news for the tax-cutting, regulation-slashing president who ignited the boom that is raising corporate profits, full-time employment, and paychecks all over the country. Let CNN and MSNBC and the other Trump-haters bloviate about how this proves something bad about President Trump. The people with money on the line don´t care about manufacturing narratives for political gain; all they care about is a cold-eyed assessment of where this will lead the country. This screenshot from CNBC says it all. At first, there were fears that the country might

As if it couldn´t soil itself more in the wake of its flawed Russian investigation scandal targeting Donald Trump, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is in hot water again, this time over its failure to act on at least two very specific tipoffs about the Parkland, Florida school spray shooter, who murdered 17 people in cold blood. Here is the FBI´s press release: On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and

U.S. figure skater Adam Rippon did not medal in his final event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, but he remains an Olympic star nonetheless. Rippon emerged as a fan favorite during the Olympics, loved especially for the artistic beauty of his routine, his honesty and hilarious tweets. He also made headlines for a feud with Vice President Mike Pence over the politician’s stance on gay rights. The skater took home a bronze medal in the team event for figure skating. Rippon finished in the men’s figure skating long program Friday, and although he didn’t earn a medal in that event, it was

Joy Behar was forced to apologize to Mike Pence for calling him a crazy person. “The View” host has spent much of the past week dropping not-so-subtle hints that the vice president belongs in the looney bin for suggesting that God speaks to him. Unfortunately, the Democrats’ unofficial 2020 frontrunner Oprah Winfrey just said basically the same thing in a sit down with CBS’ 60 Minutes Overtime. To her credit, Winfrey cited her relationship with God in her decision to not (yet) formally declare her candidacy.

James Comey is proving himself to be a real sneak. According to information in the Grassley-Graham memo, the former FBI Director had a meeting with the White House on Jan. 5 about supposed Russian collusion in the 2016 election and then failed to disclose it to Congress, when he was asked about it in testimony. It turns out that the Obama inner circle, including Susan Rice, Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, Comey, and President Obama were all powwowing together in the White House, and Susan Rice, who questioned whether incoming President Trump should be told at all about the Russian collusion

The corner of Atlantic and Bedford Avenues in Crown Heights is Ground Zero of this middle-income neighborhood’s high anxiety. For the last two years, neighbors have complained to anyone who will listen that groups of men become an occupying force in the sidewalks around the huge 350-bed Atlantic Armory Men’s Shelter. On several recent mornings, the men were out en masse. Two Department of Homeless Services police officers leaned against the fence outside the 800-bed red-brick shelter. About 50 feet away a man nonchalantly urinated against the facility wall. Across Pacific St., men were sprawled on chairs and milk crates.
