The National Football League (NFL) announced Tuesday it would establish a council of players and owners to highlight league members´ work on issues of racial justice and equality. A press release on the NFL´s website details the "Let´s Listen Together" campaign, which includes five current NFL team owners and five current or former players and plans to "focus on supporting programs and initiatives that reduce barriers to opportunity, with a priority on supporting improvements in education and economic development, community and police relations, and the criminal justice system." What a bunch of hogwash.. You mean the work they have allegedly done with the money received from bribery? They will never highlight our incredible, honorable members of the military! Those jackasses wouldn´t even run an ad from the Amvets. I despise those filthy thugs in the NFL.

I wish someone--a competing network, perhaps--would promote an Anti-NFL program that would air directly opposite the Super Bowl. I think it would get a ton of viewers.

Curious use of the word "equality," the players and the league are not saying we should all be the same height, same weight, this kind of sameness is not possible, but are the players or Roger Goodell giving some of that top money to the poor to equalize income? They would say they´ve worked hard for their money and they deserve it. The equality principle, the principle has made American achievement possible and has attracted people throughout the past two centuries is equality before the law. Politically it is voting rights, right to a trial in criminal matters, ownership rights, a right to freedom from slavery, and the like. Sure some will point out that this is an ideal, which means this kind of equality will never happen without exception. Anyone that doesn´t know enough to support this principle doesn´t know history.
