Letterman vs Obama:
´Rusty and off their game´

New Zealand Herald [Auckland, NZ], by Hank Stuever

What could seem better than getting David Letterman and President Barack Obama together again and sitting them down in front of an audience to talk for an hour about whatever´s been on their minds since they both left their old jobs? What better fantasy come true for anyone who misses both men terribly? Unfortunately, Letterman´s new show for Netflix, a six-episode series called My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, fails to deliver on its promise, falling flat in its debut. Letterman, who retired so elegantly in 2015, seems only half-engaged here and far too much in the thrall of his

Comments:
A couple American critics have published a similar view of this S--- Show, but are locked behind a paywall. Anyways, Letterman looks like he has been sleeping under a bridge as of late.

I find it highly amusing that BO and Letterman, who professionally twisted/twist perceptions to push their Leftist agenda, are whining that Social Media is being used to "propagandize".

This is like Walmart complaining that Target and Amazon are out there "selling stuff".

What BO and Letterman are bothered by is that other people have figured out their tricks and can run the the information game better than they can. When THEY do it, they are running a "Grass roots" campaign. When a non Leftist does it, it´s "propaganda". The fact that they are whining about it instead of discussing the ISSUES shows that they are more bothered that non Leftists are being effective and providing clear truth rather than that the content is wrong.

BO and Letterman have been trying to tell us it is nighttime and others are, truthfully, telling us it is daytime. We decide to look out the window, see the sun, and decide BO and Letterman are liars.

THAT is what bothers them, that they have been exposed. Most con men get upset when they get exposed and maybe even arrested and jailed. The best con men will assert their innocence until the bars clang shut. Ask BJ Clintoon about a blue dress and its effect on the perception of truth.

By a significant margin, NFL fans are in favor of the league’s new policy regarding the national anthem, according to a Yahoo Sports/YouGov poll. When asked if they support or oppose the new policy, which states teams will be fined if players “do not stand and show respect for the flag and the [national] anthem,” 53 percent of self-described NFL viewers said they support the policy, with 32 percent opposing and 15 percent saying neither or no opinion. ATLANTA — Perri Chandler got dressed up to celebrate Stacey Abrams’s success in Georgia’s Democratic gubernatorial primary Tuesday by donning a black T-shirt that read “Elect Black Women.” It was a defiant statement at a time when liberals are having a heated internal debate about whether a focus on “identity politics” is driving some white voters to support Donald Trump and candidates who mirror his style and policies. Chandler is not having it. “People who complain about identity politics don’t love their identity as much as black women love theirs,” says the 35-year-old Atlanta resident who works as a diversity

Was it a wolf, some type of hybrid, or a creature that hasn´t been seen in Montana since the Ice Age? On May 16 a lone wolf-like animal was shot and killed on a ranch outside Denton, Mont. With long grayish fur, a large head and an extended snout, the animal shared many of the same characteristics as a wolf; but its ears were too large, it´s legs and body too short, its fur uncharacteristic of that common to a wolf. So what was it? At this point, no one is 100 percent sure. "We have no idea what this

Some NFL players are reportedly considering new ways to protest after NFL owners voted on a new national anthem policy Wednesday, reports Sports Illustrated´s Robert Klemko. According to Klemko, some are discussing ways to skirt new rules "just to spite the NFL." The policy removes a requirement for players to be on the field for the anthem, and gives players the option to stay in the locker room. Teams will be fined for any personnel that "do not show proper respect for the flag and Anthem” on the sidelines. Other journalists were hearing similar things from players they talked to.

Seattle levied an annual tax of about $50 million on big companies last week to help solve the city´s homeless problem. The tax was watered down from the original proposal but it was controversial and pitted the city against its most powerful corporate resident, Amazon.com Inc. Now the action moves to Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. San Francisco, Mountain View, Cupertino and East Palo Alto are all considering similar taxes on large local employers (read: tech companies) to offset growing inequality and overcrowding they blame on the industry that turned them into boomtowns. Like most journalists of his generation, he embraced the fight against communism and understood why the United States had intervened in the war raging in Vietnam.
